Its just rude to actually say it to the artist, lol.
Look at this forum here:
This is what I'm talking about
Edit:
I actually thought of the phrase as a commpliment too till I started getting it myself. Then I looked at this forum and understood why I didn't like it. It really does turn other people down as an artist. I also realized if I kept telling myself how much I wanted to draw like other people, then I started ignoring the reasons why I liked drawing. Its supposed to be something fun. Or sometimes maybe you accedentaly spend all your apples on art and need some mush- (Ah, its a sad feeling...)
But this forum just explains the harsh feeling of dread.
Another thing is people that put other artists down. You shouldn't do that, espically if you don't know the journey that is learning to draw yourself.
One of the kids in my class makes fun of me for having an anime style, and not gonna lie, she can't even draw a half-assed minecraft tree. She even told me she was lazy. And thats why she can't draw. Drawing isn't a talent, its more of a skill. You can't just be born and suddenly know how to draw. It is a long, beautifal process that all artists go through. It takes years of practice and experimenting, and its difficult, but if you love it, then its worth it.
I spent two years worth a quarentine sitting in a dark closet trying to teach myself to draw anime cats, and I absolutely love doing it! XD
And the payoff is every artist being able to bring their creations to life, and have a nice hobby to work with.
I personally don't do sports, or anything like that. I play violin, I read, and I draw. (And pet my cats-)
Thank you for reading my long rant about the difficulties of art ;')
Editing The Edit:
Why are my rants so overboard-
