Isa definitely did it- something I just remembered is that Juniper, while he is incredibly strong despite his stature, has severe asthma thanks to an injury he sustained. he not only has to then find his dragon and a weapon to fight with, but his breathing mask so he doesn't pass out from the light smoke |

So, I believe I have everything all formed out so both could work: A few minutes before the ceremony, a small glimpse of what they're daily life is like and everyone growing excited about the ceremony. Joy and thrills all around, the clear skies overhead and the sun beaming ever-so brightly. A festival could've been hosted to celebrate the new riders. It's the day of the ceremony and the newly elected dragon riders are practicing riding their dragons. Everything seemed to be going well, but unbeknownst to everyone, they were hooded figures lurking in the crowd. A few riders can notice them but are unsure what they fully saw considering they're too busy trying to stay on the dragons. (I can see them feeling angry/upset/guilty of not noticing them or telling about them sooner)
