why does generation matter? does it like increase the likelyhood of one of a pup getting a parent's boost/defect, or what?

Some people prefer keeping their lines clean vs inbred. The lower the generation #, the lower chances you have of getting an inbred wolf.

For example, G1 = Generation 1. This is either a starter wolf, custom wolf, or Wolfparty wolf. It has no ancestry, and therefore no sign of inbreeding.

G2 = Generation 2. A G2 wolf is only possible by breeding two G1 wolves together. There shouldn't be any G2 wolves that are inbred.

G3 = Generation 3. Here's where it gets confusing, and here's where inbreeding starts to happen, usually by breeding a G2 wolf with its parent or its sibling.

Basically, the only way to be 100% sure your wolf is not inbred is to get a G1 or G2 wolf.

As a sidenote, the higher the generation, the harder it is to check whether or not it's actually inbred.

It's not inherently good or bad. It's mostly a player-made thing, like a challenge.
Whether or not your wolf is inbred has no effect on gameplay.

also i've been meaning to ask this for a while now,
when my wolves are battling, their battle skill has a number in () next to it. what does this number represent? Is it only to keep track of all the battle skills or what? For example:
Ankle Cut (Off +25)
what does the (Off +25) mean?

Off just refers to offense, and Def refers to Defense, I don't know what the number means sorry

Thank you both for your responses!
So the number doesn't do anything except let you know what level battle skill your wolf is on?
