Skin

Adalia’s skin differs from season to season. In the cooler months she holds a slight pale tone due to the harsh winters but in the warmer months when she is out and about constantly, her skin holds a lovely sunkissed tan. No one is perfect but she is as angelic as one could be. Her skin is flawless from blemishes and marks.

Adalia stands at about 5 foot and 5 inches tall but her attitude proves bigger. She weighs roughly 120 pounds and has a slender figure. For her stature she is quite strong, constantly finding something to keep her busy that also keeps her fit.

Hair

Adalia has locks of blond hair that seem to be pure gold, reaching just under her shoulder blades and holding delicate curls. Usually she wears her hair down with just some strands pulled back out of her face, though her mother always tries to get her hair into a ridiculous style.

Eyes

Two deep pools of blue. Her eyes are one of her most striking features, being a light shade of blue- they seem to see right through you.

Personality

Smart ⋆ Skilled ⋆ Caring ⋆ Impulsive ⋆ Respectful & Respectable ⋆ Closed-Off Emotional ⋆ Protective ⋆ Reserved ⋆ Avoidant ⋆ Impatient ⋆ Loyal ⋆ Strategic Thinker Difficult ⋆ Alert

Ada is what many would say a free soul. She would rather be in the woods, climbing trees or swimming in a lake rather than being stuck inside tending to royal duties. Growing up she was given more freedom to roam and get dirty, but as she has come to age, it is time to prepare for the throne, even if it could be years away. Ada is known for sneaking out of the castle and royal grounds, running rampant through the towns. She loves her people, constantly leaving to help shops and farmers.

She is a kind and caring soul, but she is fierce and hot headed. Her temper can flare like that of a dragon at times even if she does not mean it. And with that temper comes her strength. Growing up and even currently she has trained her mental and physical strength. She is smart, able to come up with quick solutions and is deadly with a sword, who would of thought for a princess.

Orion Sol Rhyshawke

"Rhys"

Pronounced Rise, incorporating all aspects of his name. Very fitting since he was always climbing to the tops of trees as a child, awake with the rising sun.

Description

23 Years Old

Born 21st of June, the summer solstice

Male

Heterosexual

Knight of the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Reyes

Appearance

Rhys has medium-length wavy/curly raven black hair that blends in with the night sky which he will occasionally pull back into a simple ponytail depending on his mood. His green eyes perfectly mirror the canopy of the trees he loves to climb so dearly, flecks of brown scattered throughout his irises. Some swear they hold glimmers of sunlight within them, gold buried within the brown.

His sun-kissed darker tan skin highlights that he’s outside as often as he can be regardless if he’s working or not, his love for adventure sometimes outweighing his duties as a guard. Rhys’ legs and arms are littered with small scars, no doubt the results of his escapades as a child, falling out of trees, wrestling and playing with others. He was one never to back down from a challenge no matter how dangerous, whether it was to prove something or simply just to show that he could do it out of spite. He’s muscular, toned but still slim standing at 5 foot 10 inches, 145 pounds, rough calloused hands always covered in small nicks from either branches or weapons from training.

Rhys is always seen with a silver chain around his neck, the only piece of jewelry he wears. He never takes it off and won’t tell anyone of its origin, simply stating it’s important to him. His typical appearance outside of uniform is simple black or dark gray leathers or a simple all black outfit with a loose-fitting shirt and tighter pants and black boots.

Personality

Rhys has always been described as being too smart for his own good, his wise mouth earning him more than a few brawls. He always says the truth whether or not it’s good for his health, whatever is on his mind is what comes out of his mouth. He defends his friends fiercely and will fight to the death for them as he has proven numerous times over.

Once his trust is broken it is impossible to earn back. Promises mean everything to Rhys, words bear heavy significance in his mind. He analyzes what everyone says to find their double meanings and always actively considers what he says unless he’s in a battle of wits or an argument, which is where his sharp tongue supersedes his logic. His mouth will form words faster than he can think which earns him a fair share of both trouble and respect from others. He always stands up for those who cannot help themselves from any threat, physical or otherwise, helping in any way he can.

Due to his past, even though he is quick to enter a battle of wits, he seems incapable of losing his temper; always remaining cool and collected even when his words or tone are irritated. No one can recall a time he’s ever been visibly angry and is always trying to make people laugh even in the worst of moods. He can read emotions very well, his analytical eyes and mind noticing even the most minor details.

Other

Rhys was raised as the son of peasants to a father who was none too fond of his existence who, in his mind, only made his life harder than he deemed he was worthy of. He worked within their home as a tailor and left to the taverns at night which was the only time Rhys could find peace. This is what Rhys’ analytical mind developed from, watching his father to determine his mood and if he needed to stay out all day and return home only to finally sleep.

Hence his leaving his home at first light, getting into trouble as all children do, exploring if only to find an escape. Growing his physique from such a young age caught the attention of older guards who saw the potential for the perfect future knight who “adopted” him and took him with them on their travels and trained him, resulting in his disappearance one day from the Kingdom forever until his return now assigned to be a Royal Guard. It’s been a long time since he’s been home and he is not looking forward to being back; too many familiar faces and negative memories he is not ready to relive.

His mother was the opposite, always silently encouraging him to venture out and seek whatever it was that he always seemed to be searching for in the trees, his beautiful eyes always on the horizon. Her little personal sunbeam, awake with the sun everyday and out until past sunset. She worked within the castle in the kitchens and Rhys, her little Sol, would always bring her something he’d found whether it was plants or berries for her to cook or bake with, trinkets he discovered or pieces of wood he carved from trees into simple figurines.

Wraith

A terrifying species of dragon known as “Phantom Wind Cleavers” or “Banshees” for how silently they fly, cutting through the air with lethal precision. You would never know they were coming if they didn't want you to. They earn the secondary title of “Banshee” from the distinctive high pitched screech their wings make when they want you to know of their presence, the last thing one hears before their death.

Description

115 years old

Hatched 21st of December, the winter solstice

Female

Appearance

Wraith is a small but still growing dragon, standing at 10 feet tall with a small but round head and snout adorned with small rounded spikes to diffuse the air around her. She’s 25 feet long with a 45 foot wingspan. Her wings are rounded on the forward edge, ending in spikes similarly to a bat. Her four legs are muscular and thick that end in four toes with (relatively short for a dragon) naturally sharpened claws that are very flexible in order to grab ahold of objects or to catch crevices on rock walls with ease.

Her eyes are completely white with flecks of most pale shades of yellow, orange, red and blue- the colors of the stars. The bright white of her eyes allows her to absorb as much light as possible to have better night vision than the day vision of a bird of prey. She has secondary eyelids to camouflage her further on starless nights, a dark-gray colored membrane to dim the brightness of her eyes. This secondary membrane acts as a sort of sunshade during the day as well, allowing her to actually see.

Her scales are as dark as the night sky as if she were dipped into the void itself, allowing her the perfect camouflage that has helped her species remain only in stories and almost never seen. The underside of her body and wings are the most mesmerizing sight whenever they reflect any light; the same pale shades of yellows, reds and blues visible in her eyes are scattered across her underside so when one is looking up to admire the stars, she blends in perfectly. This however, is only visible in starlight or moonlight, undetectable under any other light source, which has hidden her species from dragon hunters and killers when they nest in their caves during the day.

The sun shone brightly upon the Kingdom of Reyes that morning, its amber rays illuminating the world below. The markets were alive, the hustle and bustle of everyday life echoing through the air. Vendors sold their goods and crafts, calling out to all who passed. The aroma of fresh pastries and smoked meats swirled through the air rather than filth that other kingdoms held. The Kingdom of Reyes was known for its products whether it be crops from the farmlands to spices and textiles from the nearby sea port, the trading business booming through the realm. The Kingdom was also known for how happy its people were, there was barely any poverty besides those who had done it to themselves, thieves and killers, those who deserved it. People conversed in the streets, women purchasing goods for their homes, men enjoying the chatter of work or a pint of mead. All was well that day, the weather welcoming, the town happy, it was all perfect.

Making their way through the busy streets was someone concealed by a deep blue cloak, hiding their appearance from all. The woman’s smaller frame slipped through with ease until she was far enough from the castle, avoiding any guards currently on patrol. A small chuckle escaped her lips as she pulled her hood down, looking around. It was the princess, and as always she had snuck away from the confines of the castle. The coast was clear, she had lost her guards, just as always. She hated being trapped inside the stone walls, forced to study day and night, she wanted to be free and to explore the land and people that she was to rule. The townspeople were all to use to the sight of the young woman as she roamed quite often. There were most days where she would come to help as well, she found it a useful way to connect with them. Plus it was a change of life from what she was used to living.

Adalia took a breath before she began to stroll, greeting a few familiar faces. She had just wanted to come to town to stroll, nothing too crazy, she knew she was safe among her people as they adored her, and if not, she knew how to defend herself. She made her way through the rows of vendors, looking over all the produce and goods, examining some items brought from other Kingdoms. She enjoyed the warmth of the weather against her sun kissed skin, her golden locks falling in bouncy curls across her back and framing her face. She kept her looks simple, so she did not stand out too much if any guards were to roam by, that way it was easier to blend in and hide, she wasn't guilty unless she was caught.

It was not long though before patrols were heightened in the area, someone had already found her missing from the safety of the castle. The sound of hooves and metal fittings began to echo down the streets, guards beginning their search. Adalia slipped her hood back over her head to conceal herself, slipping off down some alleys to quickly return to the castle. If she made it back without getting caught, how could she be blamed? She was a stealthy one, using her small form to hide in the shadows and slip through tight areas. Though she was racing against the clock, this only brought a smile to her lips. The thrill of a “pursuit”. It brought a rush of excitement to a normal boring day.

She was in the clear…for now. Making it back to the large stone walls that surrounded the castle itself. Hidden on the eastern wall was a small hole in the foundation, a perfect size for her to slip through. It was camouflaged by an assortment of vines and foliage, no one having any clue it was there. She had found it one day as a child and still used it for her escape. Slipping through with ease brought her behind the stables, dusting herself off she took a second to collect herself, dropping her hood and fixing her hair. She was about to round the stables walls when she heard a scoff from behind her, a guard standing on the opposite side with his arms crossed.

Adalia let out a soft sigh, though her smile remained, followed by a short chuckle.

You are getting quite better at finding me Marco, but I still won by getting out.

She teased lightly. The man’s lips curled into a smile as he stepped forward, her crossed arms falling to his sides, his right hand falling to rest on the hilt of his sword.

And you are getting worse at sneaking out quietly, your handmaids heard you running down the halls

He teased back, stepping forward,

Now come on, your father has an important meeting, talk of the annual games.

Marco escorted the Princess back inside the confines of the castle, his armor clinking against itself as they walked. Marco was an older man, about late 40’s and the King’s personal guard. Though now being sent on missions of finding the escaped royal. He had watched the girl grow through her years, being there when she was born to guard the Queen and her room to now, still serving the family. There was a soft fondness for the girl, understanding her desire to be free, but he had a job to do. But that didn’t mean he didn’t turn an eye to let her have a moment of freedom.

Now inside the castle walls, Marco escorted her to the chamber hall, stopping at the end knowing he could not go further.

Change and meet your father in his study, do not run off again.

He said with a small smile and nod before he turned, leaving down the corridors. Adalia let out a soft sigh before heading to her bed chamber, her handmaids already waiting for her. It was time for the ridiculous task of being dressed to the nines for a simple meeting. She found it pointless but she went with it. She was dressed in a deep crimson and gold dress while one maid fixed her hair, brushing it out and braiding a few pieces back. Next was her jewelry and her crown. Why all of this to meet her father and his men?

Once finished, her hand maids all curtseyed and left, scattering off out of the room and down the halls. Adalia sighed, glancing in the mirror at herself before she too left. Her heels clicked and echoed down the long corridors as she made her way to her father’s study. It was a large and vast room, the walls made of wood with carved elements. A table of stone sat in the center with a carved map of the Kingdom and all that surrounded it. Books line the walls as well as trinkets and treasures. As she neared the door, a guard opened it for her, announcing her arrival to her father and his associates. They all stood, everyone but the King bowing their heads at her arrival.

Father

Adalia said, walking to his side to kiss his cheek before she took her seat. After she had sat, the others around her followed, everything done in unison. The King prided himself on the formality of his ruling, and it showed with everything. The meeting started off slow and boring, the men all continuing their talk of civil duties and trade. Honestly Adalia had zoned out for most of it. It wasn’t until the talk of the annual games started did she focus. She found the games stupid, men fighting for their egos, but at least it was funny to watch them fail. The King asked Adalia for her opinion on which games should be added this year, wanting her to become more involved. She gave her input, speaking of more skill games rather than ones of looks. The men should fight, to show their strength and prove they are trained rather than trying to impress the women that came to watch. The men all took note, nodding their heads and seeming to understand her reasoning, but only time would tell.

As soon as the meeting had commenced, it seemed like it had ended just as fast. A waste of her time as usual, feeling no real value of being in these meeting when there was never truly any reason behind it. As always though, she just went along with it. It was not long before they all had dispered, the King staying back for a moment, the men scattering like rats, and Adalia free to the halls again, heading towards the main doors of the stronghold to wander outside under the warm sun once more.
