Why is it that a custom wolf with only a 40-rarity pelt and no markings (Andromeda) is 16 apples while a custom wolf with a 60-rarity pelt and no markings (Hati, Bloodborne, Cosmos, etc.) is 1 apple?

It helps chase off other packs and chase off the bird watcher in explore. You also may need a certain amount of Dominance for an alliance

Dominance can effect the affinity of your wolves sometimes, which I (believe, if I remember correctly), can bring down the pack happiness.
