Showing screenshots of your mush count, secretary bird, etc might be a bit more helpful for us to know what's going on.

You don't get daily mushrooms. Sometimes you can get a couple from a log in bonus, bits it's not daily.

While exploring, are you defeating enemies/prey or are they fleeing before you kill them? You only get mush if you kill them
