- not being born with functional gills. it's the most important thing in his religion. the only reason he wasn't disowned by his remaining family was that they weren't heartless enough to leave him for dead (he was just a kid when his dad passed)
What’s their worst memory?
- the last fight with his family before he left. he hates them and loves them in equal measures. You only get one family.
What’s their favorite memory?
- he handpicked this one. when he's sad he thinks about the first sunrise he saw on The White Tide. The feeling of freedom.
What’s the easiest way to offend them?
- Call his religion fake (surface level)
- mention his nonfunctional gills (deep)
What traits are they attracted to?
- passion. passion in a subject. he's never really felt passionate about something before and he always find himself drawn towards the people who have that vibrant gleam in their eyes. He wishes he could be like that and finds it attractive in equal measures.
If they could kill one person without consequences, would they?
- probably not. or, well, maybe. he'd cry I think. If he killed someone like that it would be an accident and/or inspired by a short burst of rage. He's killed before but it's only ever been impersonal. Being a pirate isn't for the weak.

- the Big One is probably that he's damned and so is everyone he interacts with on the ship, save for a few I think.

- I think he'd like to live somewhere without anyone. he would be lonely but he would be free. Something tropical with fruit he's never had. That's about as good of an ending as he can conceptualize.

- genuinely not much What are their hobbies?
- weaving fishing nets, patching up old ones
- watching the sun rise every morning (makes him happy)

- Dying and what comes after
