Full Name:
Lark Elizabeth Hawthorne
Gender:
Female
Age:
25
Nationality:
American
Birthday:
May 18th
Appearance:
The picture of gentle warmth. Lark is a woman with soft features and skin, with that skin being the color of creamy milk, just barely darkened by time spent in the sun. A smattering of freckles dances across the bridge of her nose and the tops of her cheeks, but aside from that she only has one note worthy scar that runs along the right side of her neck down to her collarbone that she was given after a rather nasty car accident. Otherwise, she has always done her best to avoid injuries that would leave a more permanent mark by running when things grew too dangerous. Her form is lean, though supported by feminine curves to add to the softness of her features. Standing at 154 centimeters, she's easily built more for agility than she is strength, giving her at least one advantage in a world of predators. Her dark onyx hair had always been kept long and shiny, though in the past months it has grown wild and longer, touching down to her waist in a thick mass of barely tamed curls. Eyes of glacier blue are easily her most piercing feature, their shape wide and somewhat doe-like as they surrounded by lashes as dark as her hair. Behind her right ear sits a small, cursive tattoo of a 'K' to represent what once had been love for a man she had trusted far too much. Another tattoo creeps up from her left thigh and up to her left hip in a trail of black, fluttering butterflies. Some are captivated by her attractive features and wide, innocent eyes, but those who truly know her know better than to trust such a pretty flower, for she happens to have thorns.
Personality:
A strong will to survive and a head strong attitude has made Lark more than confident that she can do absolutely anything she puts her mind to. Her intuition is as strong as steel, rarely ever leading her in the wrong direction. The desire to live a better life than her parents drives her to seek safety and success of her own creation, rather than to revel in criminalistic activities beneath the thumb of a man who seeks to control. Of course, Lark doesn't shy from the face crime, she just knows when to run away instead. It's her life above all else, money and fortune be damned.
However, love and loyalty can hold a heavy chain within her. She often clings to those she deems as safe or helpful while offering up her devotion and loyalty in return. At least, until that devotion becomes a risk. She fears turning into her mother and receiving a similar fate before she's even had the chance to truly live. Above all else, she's determined to survive, even if it means cutting off someone she thought she could love and trust. After all, the world is far too harsh to rely on others. Lark is smart, almost too smart for her own good. She knows when to run and when to stay, and she knows how to use others for her own benefit until her luck has run out. It isn't always easy to tell when she's getting restless and ready to run, given her ability to pretend to be all loving and sweet, but one can almost always guarantee that she won't stay around danger. Sometimes she runs too soon and sacrifices relationships and bonds that aren't necessary, and sometimes running gets her into even more trouble than before.
Family:
Gregory Hawthorne- Father, 48, status unknown.
A snake of a man. Well known for dabbling on the criminal side of life, Gregory often danced to the beat of his own drum with little regard for the safety of others. He never shied from bringing his family around the drugs and theft and murder, nor did he shy from leaving them completely alone to fend for themselves. Lark hasn't the slightest of where he is and hasn't known for five years, nor does she really care to know.
Lianna Hawthorne- Mother, 45, deceased.
A gentle and loving mother, but often too soft for the world that her husband had placed them into. She tried to protect her children, she truly did, but her husband and a copious amount of stress drove her into a deep, deep depression. Her pain ended one rainy night when a large truck hyrdoplaned into their lane and hit them, killing Lianna instantly and wounding Victor and Lark three years before the start of the end.
Victor Hawthorne- Brother, 16, deceased.
The most precious baby brother. Victor had came as a major surprise to their parents, but he was truly a good kid. A wild, wild boy of course, but he was cheeky and strong in the ways that mattered most. Lark would have given her life to protect him, but unfortunately Victor chose to protect her instead when the apocalypse began. He turned, and Lark doesn't like to talk about what happened next. Not at all.
Family Background:
Hawthorne:
A name belonging to a well off family. Gregory Hawthorne could have carried on a major legacy, but instead he chose to indulge in greed and more, losing his given wealth and leaving little more than a label of "trash" to his family name.
Extra Information:
> Lark began raising her little brother after their mother's passing. She was and is extremely protective of him and his memory. Victor was the only person she would have gotten into trouble or danger for.
> She was always thought to be something prettier than she was smart. Her grades in highschool were always average, considering how she was focused on surviving, but she was rather brilliant when able to apply herself. She was perusing a nursing degree, though the need to seek proper funding often kept her in questionable places.
>She once would scam wealthier men, giving them her attention and "love" in order to gain assests such as jewelry and cash, often from their wives' jewelry boxes. She was always rather sneaky and had plenty of success with theft. She never allowed herself to gain enough notoriety for her actions out of fear that would affect her brother, however a few are knowledgeable of her skills and have unsuccessfully tried recruiting her for bigger, more dangerous jobs. She doesn't want a reputation.
