2. Across the Warm Tide Pools Shallow pools shimmer between rock ledges, alive with tiny crabs and darting fish. The sun’s heat still clings to the stone, and cat pawprints dot the damp edges. You spot a narrow paw flicking after a shrimp before vanishing from view. This pls ^^

You step past the crumbling fountain, the scent of thyme and salt thick on the air. The stairs are older than they look, worn smooth in the center from generations of quiet use. A faded mosaic clings to one side, its once-bright tiles now softened by sea spray and time. Each step feels like a secret. Halfway down, the stairway levels out into a tiny landing where wild daisies bloom stubbornly in the crevices. A wrought-iron gate guards a forgotten terrace, its ivy-covered arch left open just a crack. From here, the sea spreads wide and endless before you. Waves shimmer gold and lavender in the dying light, and the beach far below glows like a promise. But something else catches your attention, a tiny scrap of fabric snagged on the railing. Blue, embroidered, and unmistakably played with. A shadow shifts further down the path. A soft clatter of stone. Then stillness. The wind rustles the wildflowers again. Another step forward feels inevitable. Would you like to follow the stairs all the way to the shore? Or investigate the ivy-covered terrace first? Silver Stone said: Option 3, please

The train lets you off at a quiet seaside station, where cicadas hum in the warm air and salt clings to your skin the moment you step outside. The platform overlooks a curve of silvery beach, hugged by forested hills and scattered with smooth volcanic stones. The sea whispers close, its waves gentle and constant, like it’s telling an old story over and over. Somewhere in the distance, a bell chimes from a lighthouse perched on a rocky outcrop. Locals nod as you pass, a few giving knowing glances toward the shoreline. You’ve heard the stories that the cats that walk this beach aren’t ordinary. They’re said to guard the village, or perhaps the secrets buried in the tidepools. Eventually, you come to a fork in the sandy path. A driftwood sign gives no directions, only symbols etched in charcoal and the faint outline of pawprints. Where will you go? 1. Left Toward the Sea Caves A narrow trail of pawprints leads along the rocks to a hidden inlet, where sea caves breathe in and out with the tide. 2. Veer off the path into the Old Boathouse Half-collapsed but still sturdy, this creaking structure holds memories of storms past. Nets sway in the breeze, and there’s something moving in the shadows behind a stack of crates. 3. Right toward a Driftwood Shrine Perched at the very end of the beach, where waves kiss the altar stones, a tiny shrine built from shells and driftwood stands. Offerings of dried fish and feathers lie undisturbed. A soft meow cuts through the wind, low and reverent. Each step creaks softly under your weight, metal slick with the last of the rain. Water drips rhythmically from overhead pipes, echoing in the enclosed space like a heartbeat. The faint meowing grows louder, softer, then steady. At the bottom, the passage opens into a narrow under-alley, lined with forgotten crates and rusting bicycles. A broken dryer hums somewhere behind the laundromat wall, casting a low vibration through the stone. You almost miss her at first, blended so perfectly into the shadows. But then she lifts her head. Curled in a nest of damp cardboard and an old towel, a cinnamon tabby female watches you with a gaze that doesn’t flinch. Her fur clings to her in places, matted from the rain, but she holds herself with unshakable poise like a queen out of place. You crouch slowly, hands visible, saying nothing. The air is still, save for the hum of city life filtering through the vents. She narrows her eyes, then after awhile she trots up to meet your hand with her head. Permission granted. From behind a crate near her nest, something small shifts. A white kitten peeks out, ears too big for her head, paws hesitant on the slick concrete. She doesn’t cry out or rush forward, just watches you, the same way the cinnamon queen did. It’s hard to say if the kitten is hers. There's no resemblance, no shared coloring. But there’s a bond. The cinnamon tabby doesn’t move to stop her… but she keeps one watchful eye on her the entire time. You know, without question, that she won’t leave unless the kitten comes too. And somehow, the kitten has already decided that you’re okay. If you'd like to adopt the Queen the kitten will come with her (No extra charge as it is a randomly- but rarely rolled event <3) Mistveria said: 1 ^^

You ease through the broken gate, the hinges groaning like they haven’t moved in years. Vines brush your shoulders as you step into the courtyard, where cracked paving stones glisten from the rain and ivy has claimed most of the walls. It feels like stepping into someone’s forgotten secret. Something catches your eye near the base of a toppled birdbath. A flick of a tail. She’s lounging like she owns the place which, judging by the way she regards you, she probably does. She’s mostly white, her coat smooth but a little muddied by the wet ground. Her eyes are sharp yellow-green, narrowed in a way that says And who exactly are you supposed to be? She doesn’t run. She yawns. When you take a cautious step forward, she stretches dramatically, then flicks her tail and turns her back to you like she’s already decided you’re boring. But just before she disappears into the ivy, she pauses and glances over her shoulder, eyes glittering. You get the sense she’s giving you a choice. Follow her… and prove you’re worth her time. (Following her will adopt her, continuing alone will find a different cat) Kize said: 3!!!

You follow the narrow trail left, where smooth volcanic stones shift gently underfoot and the wind carries a low, rhythmic hush. The path becomes uneven, hugged tight by wild rosemary and sea thrift, their leaves rustling like whispers. As you round a curve, the cliffs loom higher. The rocks here are dark and salt-worn, with streaks of pale quartz running through them like lightning frozen in stone. The pawprints on the path are more distinct now, leading toward a jagged cleft in the cliffside. The tide is low, and the entrance to the sea caves opens, water drips from above, and little pools shimmer at your feet. You spot old charcoal markings on the cave walls. Pawprints, again. Some spiraling outward. Some leading deeper in. And then, a faint sound.. not quite a meow. More like a chuff, low and curious. But when you look around, there’s no one there. Just a glint of something tucked in a crack between two stones. Would you like to: 1. Follow the pawprints deeper into the caves? 2. Investigate the glinting object? 3. Head back and explore another path while the tide’s still low? Heartland Forest said: I will go with option 1. Left Toward the Sea Caves, please.
