Before we get started I just wanted to confirm you want 8 cats? So 2 kittens, 3 Adult females, 3 Adult males? Otherwise let me know if I interperated wrong xD
And if so would you like starter option 3 for all of them?

You step into the courtyard, and the moment you do, it feels like the city slips away behind you.

The garden is tangled and overgrown, but not hostile. More like it’s been left to dream in its own time. Vines crawl up the brick walls like lazy green fingers, and wildflowers nod in the cracks between flagstones. A broken birdbath sits half-filled with rainwater and leaves. You can hear the soft drip of water from somewhere, but otherwise… nothing. Just the hush.

Then you notice something.

Two paths, half-concealed by the garden’s quiet sprawl:

To the left, a trail winds through a thicket of overgrown lavender and crumbling statues. A low archway part of the old courtyard wall, leads into a shady alcove where sunlight flickers through trailing ivy. You catch a faint glint there, like eyes… or glass. Maybe something’s watching from the shadows.

To the right, a series of mossy stepping stones leads past a broken greenhouse door. Beyond it, you can see overturned pots, a cracked stone bench, and the soft flutter of a curtain from a half-boarded window. The air smells faintly of catnip and something freshly dug.

Which way do you go?

  1. Left, toward the ivy-covered alcove and the flicker of something hidden.

  2. Right, toward the broken greenhouse and the smell of catnip on the breeze.

3!!!

You arrive just as the sun begins to dip low over the horizon, setting the water ablaze with gold. Around you, narrow cobbled streets wind between whitewashed houses with blue shutters thrown open to the breeze. Bougainvillea spills over walls in riots of magenta and crimson, and the distant sound of a lute floats lazily on the wind.

Cats are everywhere, lounging on sun-warmed steps, watching from terracotta rooftops, weaving between café chairs as if they own the town. And maybe they do.

You find yourself walking a stone path that leads away from the bustling harbor and toward a quieter part of the village. A carved wooden sign, faded by time and sea, sways above a narrow archway:

“The Path of Whiskers – Keep your eyes open.”

Beyond it, the streets split in three directions:

  1. Downhill, toward a little cove where waves gently kiss the sand. Colorful fishing boats bob lazily at anchor, and the remnants of an old shrine sit carved into the cliffside. There's movement among the rocks, something small and curious just out of sight.

  2. Uphill, toward an olive grove at the edge of the village. The path is flanked by weathered statues and the occasional stone bench. Locals say some cats go there to nap in the branches… or to watch the world go by from ancient walls.

  3. The Old Steps
Near the church square, behind a half-collapsed fountain, a worn stairway hugs the cliffside. Locals rarely use it, but travelers say it’s the most beautiful route to the beach with wildflowers poking through the cracks, the sea always in view.
A stray feather tumbles past you on the wind, and you hear the faintest trill of a meow from somewhere below.

The sun is beginning to dip behind the gum trees, casting long golden beams over the quiet stretch of coast. This isn’t a tourist beach, no bright towels or chatter, no shops, no road signs. Just a winding dirt track, some scrubby bushes, and the soft rush of waves kissing the sand.

You’ve heard whispers, though. Of a hidden place where cats roam freely along the dunes and rocks. Some say they’re the descendants of ship cats, others that they were drawn here by something older. Wiser.

You slip past a leaning wire fence and crunch across warm sand dotted with dry shrubs. A kookaburra laughs in the distance, and the breeze tastes like salt and eucalyptus.

The track opens to a split in the dunes. Ahead, three paths offer themselves:

1. Toward the Driftwood Hollow
Tangles of fallen trees and weather-worn logs have formed a natural shelter beside the dunes. It's cooler here, with bits of sea glass glittering between the roots. Something rustles softly behind a hollow log… and you’re almost sure you see a pair of small, bright eyes.

2. Across the Warm Tide Pools
Shallow pools shimmer between rock ledges, alive with tiny crabs and darting fish. The sun’s heat still clings to the stone, and cat pawprints dot the damp edges. You spot a narrow paw flicking after a shrimp before vanishing from view.

3. Toward the Old Lifeguard Shack
Now weather-beaten and half overgrown, the shack perches on the bluff above the sea. It’s quiet, but not empty. Shells have been arranged on the windowsill, and you swear you saw a tail slip behind the fence.

The rain has finally stopped.

The last drops cling to clotheslines overhead, falling one by one like the tick of a slow clock. The sky is still grey, smudged with the pale light of early evening. Water trickles through the gutters and ripples across puddles scattered through the crooked back lanes of the old quarter.

Your boots splash gently as you follow the slick path between leaning brick walls. Everything smells of wet stone, rust, and earth.

The alley cats are known to be secretive at the best of times, but on nights like this, they’re nearly invisible. Except… if you know where to look.

The puddleslike mirrors, reflecting flickers of movement high above. The air hums with the low buzz of city life just beyond the walls. And here, at the heart of it, you find three diverging paths:

1. Down the Rusted Stairwell
A half-hidden staircase leads below ground level, behind an old laundromat. The metal handrail is slick with rain, and faint meowing echoes from the shadows below.
2. Through the Courtyard Garden
A vine-wrapped gate creaks open into an enclosed space between apartment buildings. Rainwater drips from potted plants and the cracked fountain is overflowing. You spot paw prints in the damp earth.
3. Up the Fire Escape
The steps are slippery, but the view is worth it. Rooftop puddles reflect city lights now blinking on one by one. A shadow flits between a satellite dish and an old mattress someone dragged up here long ago.
