Colette had crawled out of the fort, hopping up with a grin. She hurried away to freshen up, not wanting to take too long and make him wait. She touched up her makeup and brushed out her hair before spraying on a bit of perfume. Would everything really be okay between them? Things were so... on edge. She brushed the thoughts away as she headed out to the car, tucking some hair behind her ear. She opened the door, sliding into the passenger seat. "Ready when you are," she said, a whisper of a smile gracing her lips as she looked over at him.

Jace Jace smiled charmingly at her as he started the car, "Mm, so what are you intending to look at?" He asked calmly as he tried making conversation. His eyes were focused on the road but they tended to linger to her feeling guilty, but also admiring how calm she was despite the tension. He smiled at her as his hand grasped hers. He still managed to drive with one hand as he gently held her own hand.

Despite appearing calm, Colette was torn up on the inside. The changing of emotions, even then as he held her hand, confused her greatly. She wanted this. But it would be hard if it ended up being one sided. She didn't want to be stuck without an actual love her whole life. She was too young for that. "I'm not sure really.. I wouldn't mind looking at wedding dresses, but clothes shopping in general makes me happy," she said, gazing out of the window for a moment before looking to Jace once more.

Jace Jace looked into her eyes, "I'll do anything to make you happy. It's the least I can do in our situation." He mumbled softly whilst referring to the forced marriage. But truly he would do anything to make her happy. Wether it's buying her fancy clothing or lounging out on the couch doing bare minimum to look good, even if it's the most comforting cuddles. He meant it dearly. His eyes fell back to the road, the big city started to fade into view.

Colette forced a soft smile, nodding at his words. "You have no idea how much that means. I know it's not the most ideal thing for either of us, but it wouldn't hurt to try to make the most of it," she said softly, falling silent afterwards. She just wanted someone who loved her and wouldn't take her for granted. She didn't want to always be roommates, but she knew there wasn't any forcing the situation.

Jace Jace kept his gaze on the road thoughts whirling from the faintest of feeling shes not actually calm. She was probably still thinking about earlier, but how could he blame her when he was too. As his thoughts went on they soon arrived in the big city. Sighing he continued driving the thoughts biting him like mosquito's. He navigated through the busy traffic and past the tall skyscraper building and arrived at a large mall. It was huge like HUGE. Jace had a normal look on his face he was a rich boy he had been to bigger before. He drove through the parking isles and soon parked in the perfect spot. Turning the car off he looked over to Colette. "You ready?" He smiled staring at her beautiful eyes with admiration. Without catching himself he glanced over her again. God he loved this girl so much in such little time. He hadn't thought he could ever fall for her. Edited at April 14, 2024 01:29 PM by Lost Rune

Colette had fell quiet for the remainder of the ride, a small smile upon her face to mask the fact her mind was swirling with all kinds of thoughts. It meant a lot to know that he was trying to make her happy in the most irritating of situations. Colette's eyes widened only for a moment as they pulled in at the shopping mall. Sure, she'd been to some big malls, but never one quite this huge. She contained her excitement well as she looked over to Jace, nodding her head slightly. She couldn't help but notice how he'd stared and looked over her again, but god did it make her feel good. "Ready," she said softly, the same look of admiration in her eyes before she moved to get out of the car.

Jace Jace gave her the familiar smirk he always had on before he got out and politely walked over to her side opening the door for her. He laughed at himself in his head, "That's something I usually never do hah.." She made him do the most bizarre things for the way she made his voice hitch, gaze soften, jaw relax, and more. Once she got out he closed the door behind her. "So, what are we planning on getting again?" He asked as if he had forgotten to strike a conversation. That was just the cover up of him staring down her body. He was unusually good at hiding his admiring gaze on her by now. His eyes stopped at every trait of hers letting it glow in his gaze. With a sigh of fondness he let it slip by as he focused back on her. Meanwhile they made there way to the mall entrance. It was packed with many people swarming in and out the doors. For a grasp of reassurance he held her hand firmly, not tightly for as much as he wanted to but firmly enough to show his nervousness. He wasn't good in crowded spaces or being social. Jace never got much enough contact with other people when he was young. That's why he found it hard to say the right words or was soft saying the wrong thing. Blatantly he cursed himself for every reason why he couldn't be perfect for her. (In the spand of 3 months I may have gotten better at roleplaying XD) Edited at April 14, 2024 02:11 PM by Lost Rune

Colette was pleasantly surprised in the way he'd opened the door for her, making her smile up at him as she stepped out of the vehicle. It was the little things that made her swoon so much to the point she'd felt as though she was falling deeply in love. It was crazy how easy it had been when she was so against getting married in the first place. As he spoke, Colette looked up, her gaze lingering for a moment on his body before on his face. "Hmm, you'd mentioned wedding dress shopping, which I'm not at all opposed to," she giggled as she brushed her hair from her face. Her grasp on his hand was light yet firm, her thumb rubbing soft circles onto the back of his hand. She was a people's person, so having so many individuals around her didn't phase her at all. It was part of the reason she was so touchy feely and clingy without reason. Physical contact was a big thing to her, making it her primary love language. (Most definitely!!)

Jace Jace smiled at her response, "Oh?" He replied acting surprised for her amusement. They walked in through the doors hundreds of people to every side of them. He took a deep breath and continued to lead them through the crowd. Every store they passed was another sales person trying to get them to buy their product. Jace brushed them off with a look in his eyes. Something about Jace made others intimidated, fearful, or obedient. It was a flicker in his eyes. The power he carried. Every salesman had to know who he was. They all feared his power. He would be the owner of the company one day. There company was again one of the largest and wealthiest companies in the world. Now they stared at the future owners of the company. With the companies signing together that only meant more power. They were people to be feared indeed. Jace stopped at a store that had a large sign and many dresses on models for show. He led Colette inside eyes searching hers. He couldn't help but wonder if she saw his nervousness. He also wondered if she was nervous. If so she did a darn good job hiding it. His breathing got shallow as he tried to calm. He then focused back on her, "What type of dress are you going to get? Simple, flowy? Large, royally? Maybe sheikh and tasteful?" Jace inquired with a calm, yet obviously uneasy smile.
