Alpine Alpine quickly caught up pacing beside her with his nose deeply buried in the dirt. He was working his magic tracking down the herd with ease. It wasn't long before they found the herd grazing in the north wind fields. Grinning his gaze turned to Winter, "You stay on the calf, take sharp bites at the neck and haunches. Stay clear of the mom, I will handle her. If she gets close to you make to back off and circle them before I draw her away. Got it? Good." He woofed orderly before launching himself into the grassy snow. The grass was still tall stocks. Skillfully he stalked his way closer to the herd. With a swift woof the herd alerted and started to trot away into a gallop. He sprung off legs leaping forwards as he parted a calf from the herd. His gaze locked with Winter watching the she wolf dart in the fight. Now it was up to them to secure the kill.

It's scent fills her nostrils. This wolf acts as if she never hunted an elk. Winter was a skilled hunter. Winter gives a deep bite to the calf's jugular. Then just as fast she darted away. The mother was coming. She was mad. Winter risked a bite at the calf's hindquarters. Blood filled her mouth. Slowly, the calf triped. Quickly, the mother beared down on Winter. She was right on top of her.

Alpine Alpine quickly sprinted his way towards Winter, "Good moons, she's small and quick, she could easily roll over!" He thought to himself before quickly diving at the cow elk throat. With a cry the elk reared to the side barely missing Winter by a hair. As the elk stomped he let go dropping out to the side. The elk let out more cry's of panic as she started chasing at him. His eyes locked with Winters for a second before leading the mother away.

Winter watched Alpine risk his life for her. Immediately Winter goes for the kill on the calf. She crunches hard on the calf's calf. She finishes the job with the calf and runs after Alpine. "Alpine! Heads up!" Winter yells before knocking Alpine away from the mother elk. Winter convinces the mother to follow her, with her teeth. She leads the cow elk away and to the herd. Winter poofs into some snow, her fur blending in. The elk looks very confused, but walks to join the herd now that her baby has departed.

Alpine Alpine grinned as he stumbled into the snow. With no hesitation he stood up shaking the snow from his pelt. "Good job." Alpine barked to Winter. "Nearly got yourself crushed though. You should use your small size to your advantage next time." He added before following back to the elk calf. As soon as Winter caught back up he tilted his head down to the young elk, thanking it for it's life. With a quick sniff he inhaled the fresh scent of prey then started to dig in. He took small, refined bites leaving most for her to eat. (It changed e a t to chow down) Edited at April 1, 2024 05:52 PM by Lost Rune

Winter followed Alpine to the elk and thanked it for it's life. "I did use my size. Didn't you see how many times I was able to bite the calf?" She said before turning to the calf and taking a bite. Sinking to he hanches, Winter watched Alpine. This wolf was only eating a little. He looked like a gentleman. Winter lean down to take another bite, but her feather earrings fell in her face. She looked up and attempts to straighten it out.

Alpine He chuckled, "I mean against the mother, you were struggling to keep out of her hooves." Alpine finnished up his share then brought his gaze back up on the she-wolf. The way she stared up at him the feather fallen over her one eye made him glow in bliss. He hadn't felt the type of butterfly whleming his stomach like this since he was a youngling. He cleared his throat then brought his focus to something else. "Glad you went hunting now?" Alpine teased flicking his tail tip on her ear. "Come on finnish up and we can head back to the border." As soon as Winter finished he strutted out

"I know!" Winter yells after him. She finishes her share and trots after Alpine. This silly wolf, he thinks he is better than her. Winter's tummy fells warm and tumbley. She catches up and walks beside Alpine. Winter has to trot to keep up with his long legs. It's getting late. Winter should be getting home. The log-bridge is growing closer by the minute. But this feeling makes Winter want to stay. Maybe they will see each other someday. Perhaps on patrol or something related. Winter hoped so. Edited at April 3, 2024 08:59 AM by Bobcat

Alpine Alpine brushes up against Winter feeling her uncertainty pulsing off her, "Your worried we won't see each other again aren't you?" He asked rhetorically with a warm, welcoming ring to his mumble. "Don't worry though, we can meet up maybe tomorrow or perhaps the day after tomorrow so no one gets suspicious." Alpine offered, deep down he knew he would do anything to see her again. She made him feel free and able to do anything. He walked up to the log letting her walk over to her side. His tail sat flat and a weariness in his eyes. "Goodbye Winter." Alpine called out with a tone of sad. He truly didn't want to leave her. As soon as Winter said bye he disappeared into the forest. He trailed back off to his pack camp. Everyone was up to the usual except now everyone was gathering around for hunting patrols. His father leading them with a meeting to choose who to come with. Alpines ears pricked as his father called out to him, "Alpine your coming with and will be in my group." His father had a look in his eyes, "A test? Is that what is father was doing? Testing him?" Alpine thought to himself before nodding grudgingly. Sighing he sat down beside his pack members. Again he heard Halo's chirpy voice, "Alpine! Where were you!! I looked everywhere!! Your just so fast I couldn't keep up!" She continued to yip like a pup to him whilst rubbing against him. Her head under his chin as she leaned into him cuddly. Alpine was too fed up to care about it he gave up and sat still staying silent to the annoying she. Edited at April 4, 2024 09:12 AM by Lost Rune

Winter sadly walked over the log and into the woods. At least she would see Alpine soon. Taking off into a quick trot, She heads of the camp. Alpha Bobcat, Winter's dad, stormed up to her. "Winter, where were you. No one could find you." There he goes. "I was hunting. There was no food. I found a rabbit, nothing more. I can take a patrol out if you want." Winter says. "Good" was all her father said. So much responsibility. Winter gathers 3 other wolves from around the pack. Crow's Ansewer, Snow's Chill, and Moon's fortune. The four set off into the woods, following and Elk's scent. Leading them deeper into the woods, Winter can smell the Elk from ealyer. She makes sure to keep her pack away from it. They wander into a large field, rich with flowers. And a bull elk. "Crow, go from the rear. Snow, you too." The black and the white wolves strecked through the snow and grabed on to the elk's rump. Moon, at Winter's bidding, ripped at the neck of the bull. Winter ran straight for it's side. Edited at April 9, 2024 08:13 AM by Bobcat
