Kai stepped away from the wall as he followed inferno. He didnt want to do this, but he had to. They got to their quadrants. "I wonder who the teachers gonna make go first." He leaned down and said to inferno in her ear so the teacher wouldnt hear.

Inferno said, "I'll go first, I guess."

Spreading her hands, she allowed the shadows to creep up and wrap around them like vines and then ignited her hands in a blaze of heat and flames.

"I'm Inferno, a Hellhound. I have Umbrakenesis and Pyrokinesis, or the ability to control, manipulate, and summon Fire and Shadows at will.

Kai watched as she inferno went first. After she went the others in his quadrant went, leaving him last. "Fuck." He quietly said as he used his ability. He summoned two big flames, one in each hand. "Im kai, and I'm a fire mage." He said annoyed then quickly made the sparks go away.

Ember, a Pheonix, and Cole, a Fire-dragon, nodded. "You seem pretty strong," Ember said, tipping her head to the side. "Those were large flames you summoned, and the school doesn't usually invite mages into its halls."

Cole nodded. "I'm interested in working with you." His eyes flicked over to Inferno. "Both of you."

"well I didnt want to be here anyways." He said as he rolled his eyes, he then stood there and watched the rest of the students. They finished and kai left class. He made his way to the caf to get food, not waiting for inferno.

Inferno rolled her eyes, but walked out of the door, heading down a different hallway than Kai did. If he wants to be difficult, let him. I'm not going to be following him around like a lost puppy. She thought. She walked through the forest that lay outside the school, trying to piece together the information she had on what happened the night before, which was pretty much nothing.

He got food from the caf then hurried back to his room. He walked in a closed the door. He ate his food and decided he wanted to hangout with inferno, because really he didnt have any other friends. He walked out of his room and walked to infernos. He knocked but didnt get any answer. He then decided he would check around the school. He checked the school pretty fast because he only checked out the places he thought she would be at. He then checked outside only to not find her. He then called out her name a couple times.

At this point, Inferno was pretty far into the forest, and a bit of time had passed. She was just slowly strolling through the forest when an ungodly screech echoed through the woods, loud enough to be heard from the school.

Inferno stood there shocked for a couple of seconds but then darted off toward the direction of the sound, shifting into her Hellhound form to move more easily through the forest. She was ducking under thornbushes and jumping over fallen trees, desperate to see what made the noise.

Kai waited for a bit to see if she would turn up. She didnt after a couple minutes, he decided to call out her name one more time. "Inferno!" He shouted. He looked around not seeing her so he turned around and started to walk back to the school. Then her heard a noise. It didnt sound like inferno. It was a different creature. He looked back for a second but just decided to go back in.

Inferno smelt the blood before she saw it.

Bursting through the bushes surrounding a small grassy clearing, Inferno almost retched as she saw crimson feathers stained with blood that was pooling over the forest floor, coming from the mangled body of a firebird.

There was no other scent than the metallic scent of blood and the overwhelming scent of panic and fear. Something had killed Ember the Pheonix, the classmate in her quadrant that she was training with just a couple of hours ago.
