Recon | Beta | Male | M: Merlin, Doji Recon nodded, turning and heading towards the sound of the rushing river. His ears were perked, swiveling around like satalite dishes as he tried to pinpoint the sound. It appeared to be coming from the east, so he headed that direction. His dark blue gaze drifted around the area, patches of wildflowers were scattered around. It really was beautiful, a brand new place with new things to see and do. The prospect of finally free both excited and terrified Recon. While the ability to explore and do things without the human's intervention was amazing, there were also unseen dangers and that scared him. He didn't know what was out there, so how was he supposed to protect his pack, his friends? Recon's head dipped as he remembered his sister, Liberty, he hadn't been able to save her. And he had known the danger, the bobcat they had been trying to scare off for weeks. Recon shook his head, trying to clear it of the dark thoughts swirling around before he found the others. He picked up his pace a bit, the sound of the fast paced water, music to his ears. And then he saw it, glorious water. Recon stopped, tipping his head back and letting out a bellowing howl that was sure to have been heard for miles around. His fluffy tail wagged happily behind him before he spotted Doji laying by the shore. A small smile cracked on his face as he padded over, not caring about how the muddy bank seeped into his pawpads and clung to his fur. It was nice and cool compaired to the hot sun beating down. He sat down beside her, bending his head to lap at the cool water, his muscles relaxing beneath his pelt as he drank in gulps of the liquid. His eyes shut for a moment before he lifted his head and looked at the world around him, "You know, it's not smart to be out here alone. You dont know what dangers could lurk behind the corner." Doji | Female | Subordinate | M: Indrectly:Kiran Directly: Recon The golden she wolf eyes were closed as she welcomed the better temperature by the river. Luckily if it wasn't as hot as water naturally and the current slapping against the bank would cool her down. Her medium length fur waved in the wind unwinding the whisps in her fur. Her amber eyes saw Kiran splash into the river. Then catch a fish then leave. She inwardly chuckled at him, but a little peeved that he left her. The birds were loud, but almost telling her welcome to their new home. It made her smile in her thoughts. Her ears heard rustling as she would turn her head but it was almost like a chore. Though the scent betrayed who it was. Recon.. If she could move she would try to run out of embarrassment, but she took a deep breath in to calm herself. Doni watched him in the corner of her eye as he took slow sips of the water. She listened to his words as she knew he was right, but she already knew that herself before his wise words. "Really? No way.." She scoffed sarcastically. She added "I know. I was looking for a source of water for the pack as I felt thirsty and had inkling everyone else would be. I didn't wait for permission, no offense. But now I'm paying the consequences of my own actions. I guess the human's thing is working a little too strong for me." Her head rested between her paws watching the current go by. She struggled to get to her feet to sit on her haunches. She was off balanced and swayed almost like the wind could knock her over like a leaf in the fall. She jabbed at him "Careful Recon.. Your gentle side is showing. Wouldn't want any female think you actually cared or not all cold and stern.." She completely regretted that she said that as soon it left her mouth. She cursed herself for saying that. She was an idiot for saying that. She quickly added trying to change the subject "How is everyone? Do we need to get back. Especially in the heat, we need to get back.." She stammered on her words as she quickly got on her paws, but she was off balance and weak. She quickly fell on her side with a grunt. She cursed to herself "Of course this happens to me.."

Kiran/M/Subordinate/Mentions: Echo He began explaining hurriedly guilt stabbing him like a bears claw '' I was fishing I found her she was okay just sleeping? Maybe I don't know.. But I fell in and I forgot as. I got back to shore.. '' He trailed off searching for more words but as he opened his mouth to explain to echo a howl distracted him '' Recon? '' He said confused but it didn't sound distressed so he shook it off quickly that the fact he might be in danger. His ears lay flat again and tail curved around his paws as guilt followed him again What if she's dead? And it's my fault? He thought guilty pawing the fish and rabbit not daring to take a bite because alphas orders, he didn't look up as he felt rather embarrassed Edited at November 3, 2024 09:23 PM by The Amethyst

Recon | Beta | Male | M: Merlin, Doji Recon let out a soft chuckle, "Don't tell anyone, you might just ruin my perfect reputation as an asshole." His fur was ruffled by the wind as he turned to look at her, "Everyone's still waking up but they should be heading this way soon." When Recon saw her fall over, he scooted closer, "Easy there tiger. Give yourself time to adjust. Trust me, it's better to just relax when your body doesn't want to respond right. Give it time, everything will come back online eventually. If you need to sit up, lean on me, you look like you'd fall over again if a soft breeze hit you." The beta cracked a small smile, "And to think the others have it in their heads that I can work my legs quite right." He teased, softly hitting her with his tail.

Echo/Subordinate/Female/Mentions: Doji, Kiran, Merlin, Recon Anger burned in her as she growled at Kiran feeling both furious and horrified at what the other wolfdog had done. She had heard the howl but her eyes were focused on Kiran. "Doji was asleep and not only did you decide to fish but you left her. No food left for her and you didn't howl to let us know! Let us know you and Doji were safe? We needed water Kiran!", growled Echo moving the fish and rabbit away. She said she would stay with the rest of the group and despite something screaming at her to go however she stayed. She was not beta or alpha but she was angry and horrified. "You don't leave a pack member behind. We don't know where we are or the dangers. Now I am not the alpha or beta but Merlin might want to talk to you", continued Echo turning to look away. She glanced at the fish and rabbit but turned away despite her hunger. She looked around at the others that had stayed behind to see how they were faring. Despite how angry she was however she did check Kiran for injuries before stepping back. Echo took some deep breaths and shook her head. The heat was hard on her dark fur but her pack was more important. Hopefully Recon and Doji were not hurt and had found water.

Lidiya - F - Subordinate - Mention(s): / (ind: Anubis, Merlin) ~ The female sat in her little box, having adjusted to the fog slowly being pushed out of her head. She didn't do much. She just sat there and watched the stupidity erupt. Was she watching with interest? Yes. All of her senses were tuned as to what was going on directly in front of her, after all. What a good hiding spot - no-one cared about the few wolves still wearing off the knockout drugs, and of course they wouldn't specifically look to her. She may have been considered unruly, but then why wasn't she allowed to go do her own thing now and again? So she lay there, comfortable with her small frame in the little plastic box, as she watched them bicker and argue amongst themselves. What's more, she had the shade on her side. They were all out there sweating in their coats in the hot, humid air, and here she was, hiding - in the shade, directly in front of them. A perfect place to just be observing with interest - and a tinge of humour. While this hadn't been expected by any of them, it would certainly be interesting to see how that stuffy Alpha held up to the many, many things that he had to do. It would be unlikely he changed such that their goals aligned, after all. Unlike Anubis's with hers. Her eyes briefly flicked to the left, taking him in, watching him retreat without much more option - before going back to the group. Lidiya felt a brief urge to go and talk to him - he was one of the few people whose goals aligned with hers, after all - but then stopped herself. She could talk later. They had all the time in the world to talk later. But there was only going to be one time where she could observe this new dynamic and sink into it where needed. Unlike the wolves out there, she didn't have such the dire urge that she needed water. Well, of course, she did need water. But priorities. She could handle temporary dehydration if it meant she could look on for a bit more. And what was going on right in front of her was interesting, indeed. Rather than dashing to the water and drinking her fill, as her body told her she needed, she simply lay there. Observing. Only once the fun and action had gone, would she leave as if she had just woken up. How would any of them have known otherwise, after all? ~~~ Deverick - M - Subordinate - Mention(s): Timber (ind: Recon, Doji) ~ Deverick did not feel good. Oh no he most definitely didn't. He was thirsty, his legs barely obeyed him, and the marching band inside his brain didn't stop. He needed water. Vaguely hearing them talking about water and howling, following that a howl, Blindly stumbling along - damn, his legs would not obey him that much - he managed to get out of his little, claustrophobic box, and make his way around the outside of the circle of plastic boxes. Tiny, tiny, plastic boxes. In his blindness, he stumbled into a box. Vaguely, he was aware that a sleeping Timber was inside it, but the sedatives still had a moderate grasp on him, the marching band didn't want to play quieter, and his damned legs wouldn't obey him. Somehow - and only gods knows how - he was able to stumble down to the stream. He was aware that he had definitely taken a different route than everyone else - his path, if he had cared to notice or look back, meandered sideways and diagonally, with him ending up maybe twenty, or thirty-odd meters away from where he could tell Recon and Doji were having a quiet conversation. With no wish to interrupt them, he sank - more like flopped - onto his belly, and started gulping mouthfuls of fresh, clean, water. As he quenched his thirst, the dehydration lifted, and the fog in his mind did too. His marching band didn't go away, though, and neither did his damned legs refusing to cooperate with him. Damnit. Sable/Subordinate/Female/M: Inderectly: Merlin and Kiran Directly: Echo Sable watched as everything unfolded around her. The sights and sounds felt strange, almost surreal, and the new sense of freedom felt less like a gift and more like an uncertain burden. With every breath, she tried to shake of the lingering effects of the sedatives, though nausea still rolled in her stomach and her mouth felt dry. She wanted to help somehow, to be useful to her pack, but moving too much right now felt like a risk, with how nauseous she was, especially with the others relying on her to be ready when it was time to follow Recon’s signal to water. Sable’s gaze drifted to Merlin, the wolfdog she trusted above all. She wanted to approach him, to ask what they should do next, but he seemed occupied with Kiran. She hesitated, reluctant to intrude, but also realizing how much comfort Merlin’s words could bring her right now. This sense of freedom – they were supposed to want this, to be here out in the wild. And yet, everything about it felt foreign, strange, even a little frightening. She was both grateful and confused. How could the humans just leave them like this? After a few moments, she noticed Echo nearby, her presence somehow grounding. Deciding that focusing on someone else might help her shake off the sedative’s fog and her swirling thoughts. Sable slowly pushed herself to her feet, her paws pressing into the soft earth. Moving towards Echo, she tried to keep her steps slow and steady. “How are you holding up, Echo?” she asked gently, her voice soft and warm. The question wasn’t just about Echo’s physical state; she wanted to know how Echo was feeling about this whole strange ordeal.

Echo/Subordinate/Female/Mentions: Sable Echo looked at the direction of the voice and saw Sable. The black and white fur relaxed and Echo sighed. She guessed that the other wolfdog was confused and lost which she didn't blame her for feeling. "I am ok Sable. Just tired and thirsty. How are you by the way? How are you holding up in this new wild world?", asked Echo calmly as she circled Sable to check her over for injuries. She put the rabbit and fish in a pile for Merlin to decide on who got to eat the food. Her paws never stopped moving as she found things to do. She eyed some shade.
