Okay so, not sure how to word this. But I have a series of theories about the WP community that all kinda go together, so Ima make three polls to gather data and see if my theories are correct or incorrect. I'll link the other two at the bottom of this post! Please comment your thoughts on this theory and if you've noticed other things as well!
I've noticed that the big artists get a lot of attention in chat, which makes sense since art is such a huge thing on WP. Tell me two users you associate with chat. My big two are ET & BJake. And part of me wonders if part of it could be a subconscious form of self promotion, if youre seen in chat a bunch, and show the stuff youve been working on (even if you dont mean to be promoting, instead being like, "HEY GUYS I DID A THING ISNT IT SO COOL?!" Because that is 100% me lmao) then it builds not only your ethos (credibility) but also makes you seem more approachable and subsequently like youre buying from a friend of sorts. I think its more of the fact your well known artists are usually veterans of the game and such! ET has been around for awhile and so have most of the popular people in chat, as well as your popular artists |

I do agree with Convivial here, the people who've been around for very long have this kind of bond that makes them interact with each other more cause they know each other well. I'm always friendly with people whenever I'm in chat, I find myself a bit critical of people (sometimes artists) who are kind of "micro celebrities" (or however you should put it in this micro community of a few hundred) that solely interact with their friends and are kind of standoffish against others who wish to interact with them. It's just a very odd thing to do in my opinion (this isn't directed at anyone specifically, just something I've noticed the last 6 years of my being on here lol) Now I'm very seldom in chat myself but if I see someone like ET who I talk to quite periodically I do say hi to them of course - it's always nice to check up on your friends. And well, trstuff cheeks others how you wanna be trstuff cheeksed, I guess. I would never deliberately ignore anyone addressing me in chat ever, I don't have the heart for that Also the most popular people are often artists cause that's the people who stick around on here, for whatever reason. I can relate to that for sure, haven't played the game itself in like 4 years LMAO |

Yep! I've been around for about five years coming up on six I believe, and it's funny because looking back I literally grew up on here and WP shaped me. I learned most of my tricks from ET actually, absolutely love him lol. But I have noticed the same thing :3 |
