I see adoptable shops that don't have credits in the images - is crediting the same for adoptables? I'd like to open and adoptable shop in the future and wonder how I would format the credit to myself when sending the final/unwatermarked version to a customer? Can I just let people buy the total rights to the adoptable image so it becomes theirs (this wouldn't change the price, it would just be a nice option), or technically since I did all the work they would still have to credit me?? Or should I give them the image with no credit on it and give them the option to choose how they format the credit on the image themselves??

We would prefer having credits directly on the images as it saves us the search. Having credits in the post is fine however. Yes, they would still have to credit you as the person who colored the lineart. Most people aren't familiar with art crediting rules, hence why they buy it instead. They'd expect the artist to know about art credits. If people have requests to change the lineart credits, then it wouldn't hurt to change them. Hope that answers any questions. Credits don't need to be super huge and covering the image, just legibly naming the artist and the source is fine. I've bought a load of paid bases over the years, most of them have the artist signature on the lineart. Are we permitted to use bases that we've bought to make adoptables? It's a little confusing to know if we're allowed to make things to sell adopt wise using paid bases ( where the intent is to sell adoptables with the bases )

The part about fandoms... Is ai generated art allowed based of fandoms. For example, the fandom has a volcano or a certain power structure is it allowed to be in your pack bio?

No it wouldn't be. Neither fandom nor AI art are allowed anywhere on site

I have a picture of some art I made, I want to make sure that is appropriate to upload on WP and that it follows the rules. Where can I send it to make sure it is okay? Edited at June 9, 2023 11:16 PM by Summit Mountain Pack
