<span style="font-size: 15px;">Hello! So far, this seems like a good piece! Critique:
Head -
Your head is not too bad, however, what really sticks out here is the chin. A canine's whole front muzzle should just slope in one solid line, the chin should not be too jutted out. The jawbone seems to be styled after a horse more than a canine. Remove the part in the front and curl the part in the back sharper upward and turn it into fur Ears look fine, just slightly small Legs-
The joints are all wrong here. I posted image on how they bend to better explain. Front- There are only three main joints to worry about in the front legs. Shoulder, elbow, ankle The elbow bends just above the bottom of the chest The ankle is just above the paw Pay good attention to how they bend as well. Leg bends toward at the elbow, paw bends back at ankle Back- The two joints to worry about here is knee and ankle. The bend of knee here has no major bend except when sitting, and sits just below the stomach. The ankle, that backward bending joint, sits pretty low, but still recognizably above the paw

Oh boy, your art is so amazing, this will be hard.
Well, for this one https://s15.postimg.cc/yc4rkmp6z/FE8_E8497-018_F-4_B3_E-8_F60-_D56_FEFF9_F022.png Everything on the animal look perfect, so I won't say anything there. The water is pretty good, but could use some fixes. With water, Everything needs to be smooth and blended, the color, the shadows, and mostly the lighting. The lighting should be a bit sharper than anything else.
https://s15.postimg.cc/yq4pyfmuz/2_A6_E5102-1367-44_C6-_AE23-_D456_C95_F9_D99.png With this one, once again, it's perfect! Only thing I would fix here is the horn farthest away, it's put too high and really far back on the skull. The horns should line up evenly with the head angle. And a small tip for backlighting. Keep it very sharp like you did, and just add a soft light for a very short distance farther. Also, if the light is sharp enough, it will bounce of the subject it's hitting, so as to make it look like it's glowing.

Thanks so much!
This is a really nice drawing!
I think the first thing I noticed was on the face, here you only seem to be using long strokes. On a lion, as well as many other animals, the face has very short furs. Pay attention when looking on real images in noticing the fur length where ever you are realistically shading. For example, notice how on the drawing I have posted below that around the wolf's snout, the short strokes display the fact of short fur and the longer strokes show where the fur grows in length.

When drawing, shading, or coloring realistically, always pay close attention to the detail of length of fur and how it changes. Always strive to use short strokes unless the need calls for longer ones. Yes, this takes longer and takes more effort, but it truly helps with how well it will turn out in the end.
Also, your mane, while it has good contrast, it's also not as believable. Since the mane is not only long, it also shoots off in a fluff, the way you have it shaded makes it seem the mane has skin directly beneath those hairs. Try clumping the hair when it is like that (sorta like a mix between the drawing below and the longer fur on the drawing above, though those aren't great examples to what I mean by that) and pay good attention to direction.

I hope this helps! That was probably a bit confusing, so don't be afraid to tell me to elaborate! Edited at August 16, 2018 07:47 PM by Raewyn

Your art is pretty neat! So far, you definitely have shading and coloring down! I think about the only thing you need to work on at this point is some minor anatomy if your sticking with a cartoony style. :)
