∆ Ekaterina “Cat” Von Ekenberg ∆
just call her Cat age: 18 gender: female sexuality: bisexual ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ appearance: With a height of just 4”10 despite her upbringing in low gravity environments, Cat's short stature is an anomaly. She looks at once too young and too old, baby-faced but wearing old-fashioned attire, possessing a venerable refinement that's offset by her childlike curiosity. Her short but dense chestnut-colored hair, tousled and stretching upwards and outwards as if towards some invisible halo, is a warm, dark contrast to her pale skin, streaked with faint turquoise on her arms where the veins are quite noticeable. Thin but high-arched eyebrows frame large round eyes. They could’ve been doe eyes, but they were cat eyes instead, a product of Cat Eye Syndrome, a disorder so-called because of the abnormal, catlike pupils - coloboma, to be precise. But the pupils aren’t quite feline; they aren’t neat narrowing slits. In fact, they haven’t narrowed at all; they've only lengthened downwards, as if bits of the lower half of her hazel irises had been chipped away, and her heavy pupils oozed down to fill the void. They're an uncanny, incongruously sharp centerpiece for her soft round face. Cat has a slightly upturned button nose. Thin, pale lips sheath her prominently large teeth, crowded inside a too-small mouth since she refused to get any pulled out. She has a narrow jaw that she blames on her former cleft palate, and a slender throat that emits a high-pitched, lispy voice, saturated with an icy sweetness. Cat’s a small, frail looking gal, with a fragility that’s further accentuated by her mannerisms - the cautious but easily startled movements, the habit of curling up into herself, hunched up like a kitten, as if for warmth. She’s a wispy looking creature, corporeal only because of a mass of dark, baggy clothes that make her appear larger than she really is, like a gaudy bird puffed up when threatened. It’s not uncommon to see her dressed in rhinestones and imitation furs - symbols of luxury in the past, relics of rich antiquity, however pretentious. She loves of vintage-styled outfits, albeit with a heavy dose of anachronism.
∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ personality: Cat’s got an easy laugh - a laugh that frequents her mouth more than her words do, a laugh too persistent to be a real signal of joy. One wonders if it’s a nervous tic, a product of giddiness, or a subtle, cynical mockery of the people around her. Perhaps it’s all of the above. Cat’s a quiet gal, but she's far from demure. There's a terse quip to her voice, a cautious yet deliberate energy behind each behavior. She's got the airs of a noble, an emphasis on the gracefulness of her manners, as if she's subtly showing off in silent competition. She thinks of herself as a little queen, for how could one be aspire to be anything in life without believing it first? She sets forth professional words in everyday speech, for surely it never hurts to appear more intellectual, and indeed, she sounds eloquent, despite the faint trace of a lisp. She’s meticulous with her work and hates to leave loose ends. If it’s not in a proper order, don’t bother. Oh, she’ll deny being a "neat freak" or a "perfectionist," for surely there's no way she could carry such useless worries and futile obsessions. Still, there's a tinge of anxiety behind those eyes. As much as she feigns that calm, composed facade, it doesn’t take much to set her nerves a-tingle. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, for its a sweet, spicy sensation to feel a shot of adrenaline, whether from an intense game, or the heat of debate. Easily excited, she's always up for a titilating experience. Drawn to the rabble of an active crowd, ears perked for drama. Still, she skirts around the edge of the public as she a more private individual. Cat spends her spare time carefully cultivating her aesthetic, researching the arts, designing creations. Now, she wouldn't exactly call herself a creator, for with all that's been done in the past, very few things are truly original anymore. Renovator is a better title; she likes to mix-and- match styles, reincarnating old fashions and spinning them with a new twist. compiling lists of the little beauties of the world, flavor words that give her satisfaction. She constantly revises her image, modeling herself after who or what she takes a liking to. She's after a life that imitates art. A life that transcend the monotuous cycle of survival and conformity. Beneath her prim and practical veneer lurks a romanticist, a fantasist, a daydreamer, waiting to burst out at the right person and shower them in wild ideas, y'know, those rambling what-ifs with best friends during late nights after the rowdiest of the party has died down, but the spirit of fun remains. In the night, when inhibition is low and the atmosphere is hazy, half-drunk with dreams, she'll confide some snippets of her interests, talk about herself with a little ditzyness, as if she's confiding a giddy secret. It gives her a thrill, that titilating rush of raw emotion. But by the morning, when there's work to face, she'll be back to her proper, practical self, the playfulness locked away. Cat's a flighty, fickle friend, fierce in her affection today, and lukewarm tomorrow. Quick to make ties, she can be just as quick to sever them. Others' good-nature friendliness are met with skepticism, for she's selfish, and everyone she knows is too. She's glimpsed the darker side of human nature, and that knowledge has imbued her with a bitterness. That's why her trust is so fragile. Once she gives you a piece of herself, she gets the urge to runaway and leave that part behind. She can patch up her personality by adapting a different guise, newfound habits, like how one can patch up old clothes with new thread. It's tiring to be the same person from day to day, and there's always the prospect to start anew. Or so she wishes.
MBTI: She doesn't believe that shit. Nor enneatypes either. Though she is loath toward those damn personality tests that put people in boxes and saddle them with generic labels, her most preferred measurement is the Big Five: Openness to experience: high Conscientousness: high Extraversion : mid Agreeableness : mid-low Neuroticism : high

history: "Catherine” was the name her parents planned to bestow her, and “Catherine,” outdated and prudish as it sounds, would have been just fine compared to Ekaterina, the bastardized Russian spinoff (no offense to Russians, she’s just… not Russian). But her mother, upon seeing her newborn’s face for the first time, cried “my Ekaterina!” for in her shock, she made a slip of a tongue when she tried to blurt out Eureka while she meant to say my Catherine. So that’s the name that stuck. That accidental portmaneau was a bad omen for Cat, who struggled with speech disfluency throughout her childhood. An avid reader nonetheless and a meticulous student, she took a liking to history and the humanities over the hard sciences, in contrast to the rest of her family. family: Her mother, the renowned botanist Flores Von Ekenberg, her father, the entrepreneur Roth Von Ekenberg, her brother Marcel, two sisters Amaranth and Rosemar, and a plethora of other relatives, all of whom flit in and out of her life. Marcel ranks among her favorites, even though he’s near old enough to be a second father. There was never a true nuclear household, busy parents meant they were rarely around the home. As the youngest child of her immediate family and just another insignificant little aristocrat of the wealthy and prestigious Von Ekenberg house, Cat’s been overshadowed by larger personalities, higher statuses, bigger money. Much to her chagrin, her “defect” is what she’d been most known for throughout her childhood, never mind that, with modern advancements, it’d been reduced to nothing more than a few visual abnormalities and some minor pains. Hell, she's fit enough for space travel, pity begone! Alternately coddled and ignored, Cat grew tired of being treated like the family pet. Yet, she's accustomed to her role as the little one, the child for whom caprice was custom and cloistering was comfort. Growing up is terrifying. pets / service animal:

Full Name: Risa Mei
age: 16 gender: female sexuality: bisexual role: *^*^*^*^*^*^ appearance: Risa has inky black hair in a short bob and a face as round as the moon she was born on. Exaggeratedly arched, expressive eyebrows sit above monolidded almond-shaped eyes that hold a perpetual glint of a smile despite their dark color. She has a blunt nose and full pert lips that default to a smirk, revealing large rabbit-like front teeth. but she’s not ashamed at all, for you never saw any teeth brighter than hers. She’d be plainer and more unassuming without them. Her face could be considered pretty in an unconventional way, a mirror of her unconventional personality.
Though of average height and build, she’s noticeably curvy, with wide hips and a flexible grace. She wears sparse or natural makeup, but she does love colorful clothing - flower prints, overgrown vines, autumn scarves. *^*^*^*^*^*^ personality: Risa’s bright and cheerful with the youthful cockiness you’d expect from a stereotypical teen. Her spry energy keeps her outgoing and ready to ask questions, but the more time one spends with her, the more one will get the impression that she's not the best listener of the answers to the questions she asks. The latter's a rote list of conversation starters she keeps for convenience.
It's not wrong to say she likes to hear herself speak more than others. She's still in the childish mindset of thinking sarcasm is cool and quirky. She's a bit of an edgelord who feigns nihilism, but in reality, just wants to have fun. Her moodiness is real though. She's brash and will spill her feelings openly, unless she’s feeling sad or insecure, in which case she'll hide her emotions under a veneer of annoyance.
Risa’s not the type of person one can simply ignore. Do get on her good side, because that can make or break your relationship. Her behavior is highly situational, dependent on the people around her and the setting. This unpredictability might seem two-faced, but she prefers to call it adaptable. She can be doting on her friends, generous and overprotective, but one wouldn't want to piss her off - and not just because she's a skilled martial artist. Step on her nerves, and that charming girl can turn into a hissing demon quick enough to give you whiplash. She can't help but be judgmental and over-analytical; it's an old habit, though she's unsure of how it started.
One might catch of glimpse of impish mischief in her demeanor, hints of connivery as if she's planning a prank of sorts. Oh, she follows the rules, but there are always loopholes for those with a keen enough eye. She’ll openly admit to being a selfish hedonist … well, she deserves it. Risa embodies the mantra work hard, play hard. Resilient and hardworking, she is loathe to give up on a goal once she sets her mind to it. It's a hit or miss strategy - her stubbornness has sometimes wasted her time, but has also given her the motivation to hone her hobbies into skills. Perserverance is perhaps her best virtue.
mbti index: ESTP-A enneatype: uh… probably 8
pets/service animals: A gold and black pastel ball python named Acheron, a bright-eyed and playful 4-foot noodle. She’s not sure of its sex, but it doesn’t matter. theme song: I’ll think of something… *^*^*^*^*^*^ family: Risa’s the youngest child of a family of three, with the oldest being her sister Eliza, a dancer, and the middle child being her brother Micah, who works with their parents operating a small business for web design. history: Risa feels lucky to have bounced around on three planetary objects in her short life - the moon, Mars, and now Earth. It's largely due to education that she's had the opportunity to travel so much. With great talent comes great expectations. Well, in her opinion, it's not that she had so much talent in the first place, but she was pushed by her parents and teachers to work hard, slough through unstinting, frustrating toil. She owes much of her skill to disciplined practice, but she questions if it was worth the stress.
Unlike her siblings, she wasn’t the best at academics, but she was good enough. She didn’t see the need to be a total jack of all trades. Besides, she's won science competitions, is proficient in both visual arts and martial arts and more that won't be listed so not to bore you with a resume. Due to the burden of her parents' expectations, her relationship with them is a bit strained - but isn’t everyone’s? With every year, she seems to be slipping farther and farther away from the ideals of her authority figures, and she doesn’t know whether it’s a bump in a road or a whole different path she ought to set foot on. Other: I do not know why I like making youngest sibling characters. I am the oldest child.

1. What is your full name? Risa Mei. No middle name.

3. What species are you? Human. Do I look like something else? *shifts her head slightly and squints* 4. When & where were you born? The lunar colony of Deltrio. May 1st, 2746. I'll let you know now I don't want to hear that astrological BS.
5. And this would make you how many years old? 16 years old.

16. One of your enemies (#12) just complimented you. Response? Take your flattery elsewhere, I already knew that. 17. One of your friends (#13) just insulted you. Response? Were they joking? I don't want to seem like I get offended too easily, but if they weren't, ugh.
18. If you could change anything about yourself. . . 19. About your home. . . Be easier to live in, more like how Earth used to be. But Luna can keep her low gravity. It's a bit annoying how Earth weighs me down.
Part IV: Getting Personal.
20. What are your parents like? They... do their best, I'm sure. Though they are not so understanding of me and us teens.
21. Do you have any siblings? Yeah. My older sister Eliza and older brother Micah.
22. What's your occupation? Just your average student. Well, above average, I'd like to say.
23. Well, do you like it? Your job, that is. Sure, overall. There's a lot that could be better though. For example, _____.
24. Are you seeing/dating anyone? No...
25. Thinking about getting engaged, married, other? *rolls eyes* you're starting to sound like every other annoying adult - do adapt depending on the person you're interviewing, instead of just going through a list of questions. You don't seem like you've been paying attention that much.
26. Tell me your biggest secret. You first. 27. Your worst fear? You don't have to answer this one, of course. I don't have to answer ANY of these questions, to be precise. It's just I'd like to be courteous, but now I'm questioning that. 28. Back to lighter stuff. Favorite food? 29. Favorite drink? 30. Tell me one thing you're proudest of. Once, I beat up____. Oh, and I won a science fair for ____. That. 31. Something embarrassing about you? Don't have to answer this either, don't worry. 32. [redacted]
Part V: Closing.
33. Are you satisfied with your life right now? No. I am working hard to improve it. If I were ever truly satisfied, I'd be dead. 34. Anything you feel like you have to do? Bucket-list, major goals, or something you know you need to do immediately. 35. Any hobbies? 36. If you could have one wish granted right now, what would you wish for? 37. How would you describe that wish? Selfish? Selfless? Trivial? Important? Other? 38. Do you like change? Sure, but an element of tradition keeps WIP
39. What is your most valued possession that you've ever owned at any point in your life? 40. Anything else you feel like sharing? Sorry to sound stuck up, but I wasn't in the greatest mood today. Edited at May 19, 2020 02:32 PM by Life on Mars

Name: Rico Valentino Role: a demon, a thief, a cowboy, big beef Age: Looks 23, but is around 200 in Earth years… he can’t be bothered to be precise, especially when time runs differently in hell. Sexuality: homosexual Appearance: Rico considers himself lucky to get a good draw in the looks department, lucky to not be a hideous garbled monstrosity like some demon creature. He's human… for the most part. His tanned bronze skin and vaguely Hispanic features may be uncommon traits but are hardly his most noticeable features. Tall at six and a half feet, he's thickly muscled and brawny, with a well-sculpted Olympian physique that he bears with a proud swagger. All masculinity and hard edges, with the only feminine feature being the long, fluttery lashes that frame his eyes. His dark eyes shift hues depending on his mood - jet black in his usual, calmer state, brightening to mahogany when he’s excited and glowing brimstone when his ire is evoked. Bronze bull horns protruding from a mass of dark hair, giving a somewhat comical touch to his otherwise hardened seriousness. A demon he may be, but one ought not to mistake them for the horns of a goat. Above his rump, there extends an ox tail to match, a golden-brown, shaggy-furred appendage with a black tail-tip. His distinctly bovine features have earned him the playful epithet “cowboy” from some. His lack of shapeshifting or illusion abilities means it's an annoyance to conceal his beastly appendages. He wears a modified buffalo hat with holes for his horns to poke through, while his tail is hidden beneath baggy clothes. Personality: Rico’s pushy, brash, impulsive like a bull, full of machismo swagger and fuckboy energy. More reckless than true courage, he's not one to take no politely. With a chaotic, aggressive whirlwind nature, it amuses him to intimidate others. He's a rambunctious rule-breaker with an animal wildness that dares for an attempt to tame him, though it's surprisingly easy to subdue him with food or some interesting trinkets. He may be domineering and proud, but cruel he is not. Despite his riotous tendencies, his mood's not terribly fickle, and he keeps his cool well under pressure. Though gentler and more protective of those he knows, he has the tendency to treat those he takes a liking to as playthings. His curiosity and friskiness is unbefitting of one his age. When faced with someone of interest, he'll prod them with questions until he squeezes every last word out, as if in some awkward, never-ending icebreaker game. Get close, and one might chip away at his mysterious intents to reveal some hidden insecurities. He'd never let go of his pride though, and would rather try to pass off his fears and weaknesses as minor hindrances. Strengths: Weaknesses: Likes: Dislikes: Backstory (demon version): Rico’s memories of his origin are fuzzy. He has this vision, a dream of sorts, in which he spawned in hellfire, crawling out of an egg, one of thousands laid by a mother demon on a Satanic solstice. God knows whether this is true or not, for he may as well have been a human who traded their soul for immortality, had their memory wiped and replaced with false engrams - a phenomenon not unheard of in the realms of the supernatural. Regardless of the makings of this demon, he's been left to fend on his own for as long as he can remember, though without necessity for food or water, there was hardly anything to be done but debauchery. Contrary to what humans have been told, hell is fun - at least before judgment day comes, and at least for the demons involved. In this lawless wasteland, Rico was always living on the edge both figuratively and literally on the edge of the demon realms, where he's witnessed the passing of too many souls in through the gates of hell and none out. If they can get away from the viciousness of the meaner demons, he's helped introduced them to some good-natured hedonism. After being brought to Earth through a demon summoning gone wrong, he subsequently escaped his captivity and was free to wander as he pleased. To be more precise, he helped swapped out for another, more coveted demon, an archduke of hell. The exchange rather displeased demon royalty and cost him old allies. Rico was quick to lose his homesickness and since then, he’s been living the life of a vagabond, train-hopping, loitering around, and general caprices in the human world. With plenty of time, he’s picked up a few actual skills along the way, such as polyglottery and woodworking among other things, but he’s no stranger to committing criminal deeds, and of course his biggest vice - lust.
Backstory (cowboy version): Other: As a demon, he smokes and does some other substances. Edited at May 19, 2020 02:37 PM by Life on Mars

Still, Russet can be gentler than one would expect judging from his stony exterior. Julian "Ramiel" Winslow ~~~ Gender: male Age: 300 Role/Faction: Angel, Knight Sexuality: homosexual Appearance: What better word to describe Ramiel’s appearance than angelic. Not the lordly, awe-inspiring, blindingly holy angelic of the canon Bible, but the colloquial angelic that connotes a gentle, pretty face of innocence. A perfect yet earthly beauty unbefitting of an angel - useless physical traits that only serve as a temptation for vanity and sin. Age-wise, he appears as a young man near the end of his teen years, if translated to human terms of time. Ramiel resembles an Erotes, with pale, unblemished skin and a pleasantly shaped face framed by chocolate colored curlicues of hair. His beauty is further accentuated by scintillating cerulean blue eyes and rosy lips. His disproportionately large white wings, lined with generously thick rows of downy fluff, dwarf the rest of his body. When not in battle, he sticks to traditional clothing - plain, flowing white robes or togas that remind him of better times in heaven. Personality: Ramiel can be summed up as trusting and sweet. His words, though succinct, convey an strong cheerfulness, an excessive sincerity that borders on naivety. Indeed, Ramiel’s wandering spirit has never been the most obedient nor the most cautious. For all his affable clinginess, he’s not easily heartbroken. He’s gotten used to heartbreak, for an endless lifespan means ever more chances for people to come and leave. Ramiel’s a lover, not a fighter, but he’ll do anything to win back the Divine Being’s favors and redeem his fallen grace. His fall from grace has never shook his perpetual awe of the world. The cruelties and deviancies he’s witnessed are all fever dreams to him, ill hallucinations. Optimism's a potent drug. He's drawn to the goodness of life like a moth to a light, a symptom of the escapism he's come to settle upon when tragedies are too harsh and numerous to face. Ramiel's firmly placed his trust in a happy ending and justice for all. A zealot through and through, his service can be overbearing and self-sacrificing, a trait that allows others to step all over him, yet, it’s been impossible to grind down his self-esteem. Despite his open-hearted confessions, the reasons for this devotion are an enigma, even to his Samael. Power: Ramiel’s dominion is the world of sleep and dreams. His crooning siren song can imbue someone with drowsiness; he lures one to sleep while singing the promises of sweet dreams. Ramiel can’t actually give dreams or even tamper with their happenings, but he can dreamwalk, striding silently into others dreams to witness the scene unfold as he watches unbeknownst like a ghost. At his enemies’ most defenseless moments, he hopes to glean secrets of their subconscious. Everyone has nightmares, and as strange and nonsensically outrageous dreams can be, he might perchance catch a glimpse of one’s true fears. Each day, Ramiel can conjure one random, chance item from a dream - anything non-living and non-autonomous. Most times, he fishes up some trivial, but interesting object. Out of darkness, matter will be formed out of nothing, only to dissolve into dust by the end of the night, as if on loan on borrowed time.
Strengths: + Agility is one of his strong suits, honed in large part from his desire to avoid physical harm. He’s capable of acrobatics as good as any Olympian gymnast, if not better. + Ramiel’s a talented vocalist with a powerful, yet ethereal voice. Not surprising considering he used to sing in the Divine Being’s choir. + His wings don’t feel as much pain as they ought to. Perhaps due to all that fluffiness, perhaps due to something else. Weaknesses: - He is loathe to fly at any elevation above 10 meters. In fact, he dislikes flying at all and is clumsy in the air, curling his wings around his body as if they could shield him from the whipping wind or cushion him from a fall. His wings are more often used as a boost for jumps and aerial tricks. - Sensitive and clingy, Ramiel can’t stand to be left alone. It’s an annoying habit of his to stick to anyone he can, even if he may not engage in conversation. Fears: ~ Falling, and by extension, flying. What’s more pathetic than an angel afraid of flight? ~ Being unloved, abandoned, misunderstood - common fears, but nonetheless poignant. Fortunately, Samael will always have his back, right? Other: Ramiel is vaguely based off this wolf OC of mine: https://postimg.cc/Xrd2zpTV (Art by #159913) So sad this wolfie doesn’t have wings like his brother. My pretty Icarus.

Darren "Samael" Winslow Gender: male Age: variable, but he always dies young. Sexuality: bisexual - heteroflexible demisexual to be precise, though he’d coldly say something along the lines of “I’ll love who I love“ if asked. Appearance: Although his facial structure handsomely resembles Ramiel’s, Samael looks a decade older, his face stony and weathered with hardened lines like oceanside cliffs, With tawny dull blonde hair in a perpetual mess, left just a tad too long, and scruff on his jaw, he could pass for a movie star in a Western. His eyes hold a trace of wistfulness, tumultuous as the deep seas but shallow in color, a uniform seafoam hue of pale green-blue. His wings look considerably darker than his brother’s, a trait useful for camouflaging among the demon ranks. Dark grey streak through mottled dark cream feathers, creating a gritty, almost muddled impression. Samael’s figure is tall and muscular but unassuming, not a particular standout among the angelic ranks.* *Gold sigils of curlicues lace around his forearms like tattoos, writhing and glowing brightly on the rare occasions he loses control of his emotions. Personality: Samael gives off the impression that he’s trying to be cheery or amused, but is too tired to pull it through successfully. His radiance of happiness is dampened by clouds of indifference. Coolly nonchalant in his mannerisms, he does a superb job of feigning apathy. He helps around if he can but lacks a charm or passion; his heart seems someplace else. Beneath that languid, serene veneer, one might catch a glimpse of sadness, worry, and more. Knowledge is a burden. Samael’s mind rattles with thoughts, fraught with worries and confusion. He’s prone to falling into deep pensive ruminations where it’s easy to get tangled in melancholy and anguish over wrongdoings both big and small. All this anxiety has fostered a bitterness as potent as any demon’s and a vengefulness, that, even in the name of justice, comes dangerously close to crossing the line into merciless bloodthirst. Samael has had plenty of practice honing his deceptive nature, and lies by omission or feigning ignorance are just the basics of the tools that make him adept at keeping secrets. Here’s his biggest secret: no trait is steadfast and unshakeable as his undying loyalty to his brother. No, it shouldn’t be healthy to have a large chunk of one’s personality revolve around someone else, but no one ever said Samael had a healthy state of mind. His heart overflows with a sickly kind of love, not necessarily possessive, but certainly overprotective and obsessive. Samael goes farther than the old saying “his happiness is my happiness” -- Ramiel’s principles are his principles. Power: Samael is a reaper of memories, though the disdainful would call him a thief. With a touch, he can glimpse his victim’s memories and siphon out them out, transferring them into his own mind. The longer the skin-to-skin contact, the greater the length of the memories he can take. The biggest drawback to this ability is his imprecision at choosing which memories to steal. Having to sift through such sheer quantity of information means some of his attempts amount to mere pilfery, and he’s left with mere random snippets of everyday life. While his powers are activated, his target won’t feel any different than usual, unless they have a mind-related power of their own. No signs of textbook amnesia or confusion will show, but that engram will simply have vanished from their consciousness. Samael carefully archives his collection, shelving engrams in the far corners of his labyrinth of a mind. He’s created barriers within his mind, even placing false memories as traps in order to protect his inventory and shield himself from any prying inquiries. He can replay stolen memories as many times as he wishes, show them to others like a film, store them into physical objects, or dispose of them at will, but his control of his own memory is as limited as anyone else’s. Strengths: + Samael is strong and overwhelming in pure physicality, possessing the precision and speed of a well-trained sword fighter. + An excellent swimmer, a handy trait he picked up while in Elsewhere. + He’s got keen memory skills of his own, a near photographic memory. Weaknesses: - Ramiel’s his anchor to reality, his purpose in life. Every cliche of the loved one as weakness applies. He’d gladly sacrifice himself if it were for his brother’s gain. - It’s possible he may mistake some of the stolen memories as that of his own. - He’s seen a lot of bad shit, and the emotional baggage has made him weary. Temperamental beneath his cool demeanor, he’s in a constant gripe with suspicion and annoyance. Plagued by anxiety, his state of mind cracks under the weight of increasing pressures, growing more fragile by the day. He’s paranoid of danger and betrayal, rightfully so, but that doesn’t make his life any easier. Fears: ~ Losing his brother is his greatest fear. ~ He winces at the music of angels… he doesn’t want a reminder of those bittersweet times. He doesn’t want a reminder of his own singing voice. Likes: Dislikes: Theme Song: TIMESINK - Lorn Other: 1. If Samael had to choose a human occupation, he’d be a marine biologist. The oceans contain much of the most fascinating and unique creations. 2. Samael is vaguely based off this wolf OC of mine: https://postimg.cc/QBD6Gj3c (Art by #159913) I’ve had these boys for a long time but only fleshed them out today.

Backstory: Regular Edition
Backstory: Angel Edition Ramiel and Samael’s histories are intertwined and impossible to separate. On Earth, they were brothers with a bond closer than most, the best of companions. Samael was an upstanding believer - righteous, obedient, virtuous, who did as best as humanly possible to stave off temptation. Ramiel was weaker in self-control, but he had faith. When Samael died unexpectedly while still young, on the cusp of adulthood, Ramiel was heartbroken, but as humans do, he moved on. The passing times dulled his mourning, the growing separation and forgetfulness made his longing fade. Samael, on the other hand, felt robbed, not just of his life, but of all his relationships that were abruptly severed, robbed of a fair opportunity to develop. He was always a keen watcher of human life, peering down towards the Earth. Seeing his brother only deepened his loneliness and jealousy. When Ramiel’s time had come (he only died at 29 years old), Samael couldn’t help but secretly rejoice, even as he felt guilty for being happy about his brother's death when Ramiel had mourned at his. The brothers sang together in the divine choir, and rekindled their bond as they rediscovered what they’d missed out on. Ramiel thanked the Divine for bringing them back together, but Samael blamed him for ever separating them. The latter’s heart grew apart from the Divine Being, and he became fearful too, for the lord is a jealous god. It never bode well to love the created more than the Creator. After some years, Ramiel got thrown out of the heavens after being caught in an illicit love affair. He’d heard of the consequences whispered among the heavenly ranks, but it never seemed real, and trusted that the Divine was too good to punish one for affection. The pain of the fall left him remorseful, but it corrupted Samael’s wariness into resentment. Samael soon followed suit and voluntarily descended to Elsewhere, for he knew his time on the Divine Being’s graces was running out regardless. He was bound to do some wrong sooner or later, and it’d be better to save face and leave on his own free will with dignity intact. Samael suspects that the fallen are but pawns, angels deemed of lesser worth, meant to be discarded as they risk their lives fighting the Beacon. As expected, Ramiel doesn’t want to hear his hearsay. But Samael doesn’t mind terribly. He is only with the angel’s side for his brother’s sake and truthfully couldn’t care less for the Divine Being, though his cynicism doubts the Beacon would be any better.
Other: Ramiel and Samael are real angel names. I have no idea how to actually pronounce them, so I made up my own pronunciation. The brothers are meant to be foils. I tried. Edited at April 11, 2020 09:59 PM by Life on Mars

Name: Luis Diontele Age: 23 Gender: male Sexuality: homosexual Appearance (human): Appearance (merman): Luis' mane of long, ebony black hair is typically worn loose, only occasionally held up with a ribbon of kelp. Beneath his noticeable brow ridge lie hooded eyes of brilliant sea-green hues, dare I say, near emerald, that ever-mythologized color so overused as a synonym for "green eyes", but in truth, is too lush for ordinary humans to possess. As expected of someone who spends every spare moment dashing through the waters, Luis has a swimmer’s build, a slim muscular torso. His hairless skin, rough and hardier than the average human’s despite its smooth look, has been beach-tanned to a light golden-bronze hue. A few scars nick his body here and there, remnants from foolish tussles with sea creatures. Unlike most other members of his kingdom, Levi opts for simple atire over lavish adornment, believing ornaments to distract from his natural beauty. Though his upper half is handsome by conventional human standards, noticeable deviations mark him as inhuman. Flexible iridescent webbing lie between each of his fingers, which are tipped in sharp nails more akin to claws, curved like tiny ivory tusks. Finlike perturbances protrude from his elbows and the surrounding skin of his arms. Across his back, a smattering of greenish scales is interwoven with his human skin in an irregular pattern. His trademark smile is made unsettling by the triangular dolphin-like teeth that line the inside of his maw. From the waist down, Luis’ piscine half is blue-green laced with faint wisps of aquamarine in irregular dapples. Wrapped in tightly overlapping cycloid scales, it’s smooth and supple to the touch. Pale green fins line the sides of his tail; they’re stiffer than the flimsy impression of translucency implies. The end tail fin is lobed, shaped like whale flukes, albeit with longer ornamental tassels. With a comparatively short tail, Luis is on the bulkier side of merfolk - a useful build for maneuvering onto the isles and reefs that dot his kingdom. Though he sacrifices sprint speed, he is still a powerful swimmer. Personality: At times more animalistic than human, Luis has a craving for the simple thrills in life - fresh-caught food, the dash of adrenaline from a good swim, the sight of the dynamic wild beauty of the luxurious ocean expanses. Despite the glamour of his kingdom’s intricately crafted treasures, some of which are the greatest achievements of merfolk civilization, Luis isn’t sophisticated enough to understand the arts beyond a vague appreciation. Not that he’d ever profess to be, for pretentious points. Furthermore, he's convinced that he has enough innate charm to do without bothersome courtesies, yes, he savors that little rebellion against the ceremonious traditions of the kingdom. His royal upbringing has failed to instill the bearings of a prince. Accustomed to a life of luxury, Luis encountered few burdens growing up. Sure, he was expected to oversee the kingdom’s political affairs someday, but like all things in the future, that kingship was a faraway fantasy, not concrete like the present. Indeed, he's too much of a prince and too little of a king. One couldn't see an inkling of stuffy old lawmaker nor a sturdy national protector within him, there's only youthful romantic dreaming. Luis lives in the moment; he’ll think to cross those bridge only when he sees them approaching on the horizon - nevermind that he's got his whole life route mapped out according to the expectations of everyone around him. As the only child, the law decreed him alone to be fit for the role. Consequently, Luis has always wanted a brother, one that, if not a more-suited heir, at least would be a companion in mischief. Playful to the core, Luis can be brash and frankly annoying, though there are plenty who grow to find him awkwardly lovable, if they can put up with his juvenile sense of humor. Known as the kingdom's trouble child, he's amicable nonetheless, spoiled in a good-natured way. The land was imbued with songs and legends that immortalized the message to follow one’s hearts, follow one's dreams... that was one cliche Luis never grew tired of. He's a trifler of an adventurer - alas, many so-called adventurers are, curious but scattered in the search for novelty, seeking success without the risk, discovery without the labor. Luckily, as heir, he can experience the richest fascinations from the security of his coral palace, where he can study the eccentric human relic in the library of artifacts, or gaze at magnificent constellations of the night sky from the island observatory. There is a genuine sense of wonder that accompanies a childlike heart like his, no close-mindedness. In spite of his tomfoolery, Luis has his fair share of virtues. He's adaptable, unafraid of confrontation, possesses a simple honesty. He knows the truth is a diplomat's tool, not a warrior's. It need not be brutal, contrary to common belief. For, beneath that sly demeanor and the easygoing, give-no-fuck attitude, he does care for the people. His generosity is one of his best known assets. The ease with which that giving, friendliness and trust flows stems from a sort of love for the universe, a belief in an innate goodness of the natural world. His heart insists that it's a benevolent playwright who writes fate, and there mustn't be a tragedy, at least not for him. And thus, his romantic side is imbued with confidence. Before the object of desire, Luis performs a subtle shift towards a sensitive romantic, as he has the incentive to restrain his more crass tendencies. He'd never sugarcoat his feelings to gain someone's approval, not when his emotions are already sweet to the core, full of melodramatic sap. When he falls in love he falls hard, and he's apt to leave emotionally bruised. But he won't let it dampen his vigor towards a new pursuit...
