Skylar almost bursted out laughing when Alex kept walking, but he kept a straight face when he finally turned around. "Well." Skylar began, only to start laughing. "I can't, I was gonna make a cringey joke." Skylar continued, chuckling. "I said time to stare at art and you my dear, are one fine piece of art." Skylar said though he struggled because he couldn't stop laughing. He brought his hands to his face and covered it. A red blush crept up on his face, turning almost his whole face red. It was mainly from laughing but still. He didn't cover his face for long, once he let his hands drop to his side he began to walk again. Once he made eye contact with Alex again he chuckled again, and a laugh threatened to come out of his mouth.

Any concern that Alex had turned into confusion when Skylar started laughing. He furrowed his brow, clearly puzzled at what he found so funny. It was when he explained that he was going to make a joke that he smirked faintly and raised a brow before listening as he spoke. He paused, his eyes widening and he could feel his cheeks warming with a bright red blush. His heart began to beat wildly in his chest and, despite the surprise and small hint of embarrassment he felt, he soon found himself joining Skylar in laughing. "You're right, it was a cringy joke." He said with a laugh. "But it was also cute..." He added after clearing his throat. He looked at Skylar a moment before turning his gaze away. He was sure his blush was still obvious and easily visible and in an attempt to hide it from Skylar he turned his head away from him as they started walking once more.

"Alex it was not cute, but seriously you are so beautiful though." Sky replied, saying the last bit with such a genuine tone. Sky looked around, there was so much around him. It was almost too much for his brain to process. He spun around in circles as he looked up at the ceiling and then everywhere else. "Woah, this is a lot to take in." Sky said quietly as if he thought they couldn't be loud in museums. He knew it would probably be rude to be awfully loud, but for some reason, his brain told him that he had to be quiet in places like these. "Everything is so cool." Sky then said after a moment, "And beautiful." He added. There were many things to observe, and for some reason now Sky began to think that they wouldn't have enough time. Sky was in awe at everything he was seeing.

Honestly, Alex wasn't sure he'd be able to handle any more compliments. His heart was beating so rapidly within his chest that he feared it would hammer its way out. It was difficult to breathe as well, he found that every time Skylar suggested or said outright that he was beautiful his breath seemed to catch as if his brain had short-circuited and forgotten how to perform such a basic task. Reminding himself to breathe he sucked in a lungful of air and held it for a few seconds before slowly letting it out. It was only once he'd done this, and was certain that the blush on his cheeks wasn't quite so prominent that he lifted his head and looked first to Skylar and then around to the different pieces of art. He chuckled softly when he heard Skylar before nodding. "It is." He agreed, his gaze moving over everything. It was almost overwhelming how much there was to see, and yet Alex found himself excited to try and look at everything the museum had to offer before they needed to leave.

He remained by Skylar's side a while longer as they moved before stepping aside and heading over to a piece of art that caught his eye. A large, vibrant painting that seemed to dominate the wall it hung on. It was a hand-painted canvas, about six feet wide and four feet tall, framed by an ornate, antique gold frame that only seemed to enhance its timeless beauty. The painting depicted an ethereal twilight scene, where the colors of dusk and night blended seamlessly into a dreamlike landscape. In the foreground, there was a serene meadow blanketed in soft, waist-high grasses that shimmered with silver and lavender hues, as if kissed by the last light of the setting sun. Delicate wildflowers in shades of deep indigo, blush pink, and fiery orange dotted the field, their petals almost glowing against the dusky tones around them. The artist's brush strokes, Alex noted upon closer inspection, were gentle but intentional, giving the meadow a sense of quiet movement, as if a breeze was sweeping through.

Beyond the meadow, a narrow, winding river stretched across the canvas, its surface reflecting the myriad of colors in the sky above. The water was painted in a way that made it appear like liquid glass, rippling with streaks of molten gold, deep cerulean, and the faintest traces of violet. On either side of the river stood towering trees, their silhouettes dark and mysterious, their branches tangled like delicate lace against the fading light. The sky was perhaps the most captivating part of the piece though. It was an explosion of colors, transitioning from the rich oranges and reds of a fading sunset at the horizon to velvety purples and deep blues of encroaching night. Stars were beginning to appear, scattered like tiny shards of diamond dust across the upper portion of the painting. At the center of the sky, there was a single crescent moon glowing softly, casting a place light over the entire scene.

What made the artwork especially stunning was its texture. Alex could tell that the artist had layered the paint to create a wonderful sense of depth and dimension. The brushstrokes were visible, lending a tactile quality to the grasses, the ripples of the river, and the textures of the sky. In some areas, like the stars and the moonlight, it appeared as though the artist had used a technique that made the paint catch the light of whatever room it was in, creating a subtle, enchanting shimmer that felt almost magical.

Mesmerized by the piece, Alex stood before it, his blue eyes moving over every inch if it. Stunning. It was absolutely stunning, he couldn't fathom the amount of time and dedication that the artist had spent to create such a masterpiece, nor could he imagine how much such an intricate work of art had cost. Regardless though, he felt as though he was incredibly lucky to be viewing such an amazing and detailed piece of work as the one before him.

Skylar was enveloped in the world of art, the art surrounding him just swallowed him whole. It was a lot for his brain and he couldn't figure out what to look at first. He looked beside him to see if Alex was there, but he wasn't, so he looked around. He turned around and spotted Alex standing in front of a particularly beautiful painting. Sky slowly made his way to him, and stood by his side once he got there. He looked at Alex for a moment, admiring both the way he looked and the way he looked at the painting. "I still can't believe that real humans make all this shit, it's absolutely wild to me." Sky said as he read a bit about the artist. He didn't read much before looking up at the painting himself. It had so much detail, so much colour. It was really pretty, everything in the museum was pretty. A smile grew on his face as he admired the painting in front of him. "Cmon, this place is huge." Sky said after a moment. He then began to walk away from Alex and into another room.

So enveloped Alex was in the painting that he hadn't realized Skylar had joined him until he spoke. Jumping slightly in surprise he was yanked from the world of the painting and transported back to the present. Turning his gaze from the ethereal scene before him he looked at Skylar and laughed softly. "I know right." He said in agreement. "I wish I could do something as amazing as this." He said quietly after a moment, his blue gaze returning to the painting and then to the bit of information about its creation and the artist. Quite honestly, he would have been more than happy to remain there, taking in everything about that singular painting until he and Skylar needed to leave. Hearing Skylar tell him to come on, and seeing him move to walk away, Alex let out a soft sigh and smiled faintly. He gave the painting one final look before he turned and swiftly moved to catch up to Skylar. "I wonder how long it would take for one of us to create something like this." He said, gesturing to the smaller but no less interesting and beautiful paintings and drawings that he and Skylar were walking by.

"Probably a while Alex." Skylar replied, chuckling a bit. He continued to walk, and the next room they walked into was filled with a whole bunch of statues."

(Time skip to 6:30 pm)

"Well, that was truly an amazing experience." Skylar said as he walked out the front doors to the museum. The cool evening air hit him, and he realized his upper body was probably going to get cold when they were at the drive-in. Thankfully they brought a blanket, Sky will definitely be hogging it. "Now, you excited for the drive-in." Skylar said, "Even though the movies don't seem too interesting." He then added. "We also probably should have left a little earlier so hopefully we make it in time and its not packed." Skylar then said. "Usually though, people don't go to drive-ins that often now, especially on a school night." Sky added. Once he got to the truck he hopped in, put his seatbelt on and then turned it on. "There's a convenience store just down the street from the drive-in, I'm pretty sure." Skylar said, waiting for Alex to be situated before pulling out of the driveway. Again Metallica started playing, but this time it didn't break their eardrums. "I hope you enjoyed that Alex." Sky said, looking at Alex as they stopped at the stop sign to get out of the parking lot. Sky turned left, and started driving to the convenience store. He rested his right arm on the armrest thing that was in the middle of the driver and passenger seat of most cars and trucks. He tapped gently along to the beat of whatever song was playing, and although he was distracted by the music he still drove safely.

Alex hummed softly at the answer that Skylar had given him. He was probably right, it would likely take years of daily practice before he could accomplish something as truly amazing as the paintings and other pieces of art presented.

The hours spent at the museum had been amazing, and not something that Alex would soon forget. He had enjoyed every second of it, not just being able to see the work that people had put their hearts into but having Skylar next to him had made this trip truly one to remember. Stepping out of the building and walking alongside Skylar as they headed back to the truck he listened as he spoke before smiling and giving a nod. "It was. Thank you, Skylar." He said, looking up at him and smiling warmly. He was grateful to him, grateful that he had considered what he'd like, and even willingly drove to the next town over to take him to this museum. At Skylars' question regarding his excitement for the drive-in, Alex smiled and nodded. "Mhm." He responded. "The last time I went to one I think I was like eight." He said with a soft chuckle.

Reaching the truck, Alex moved around to the passenger side and got in. Leaning back in the seat he buckled himself in and turned his gaze to Skylar, watching and listening as he got in and spoke. "Okay." A convenience store just down the road from the drive-in certainly would make things easier for the two of them. It would likely also allow them a little more time to get their snacks and drinks before heading into the drive-in lot. He let out a soft sigh and allowed himself to relax as Sky backed out of the parking lot. Hearing his words he nodded. "I loved it." And he had, every second they'd spent at the museum had been an enjoyable one. As Skylar pulled out and onto the road, Alex let his gaze rest on him a moment before he turned his gaze forward.

The drive to the convenience store was again, nice and quiet. It was comfortable, the music playing quietly and the silence between them. The drive was 20 minutes back into town, and just a little further. It wouldn't take them longer than 30 minutes to get there in total, but getting out and going into the store surely would take 5-10 minutes.

They pulled into the parking lot of the convenience store, and Sky parked right in front of it. "Okay, let's try not to take too long. The movie starts in" Sky began, pulling out his phone when he stopped speaking, "10 minutes." He continued. Skylar put his phone back in his pocket and then opened the convenience store door. He let Alex walk in first before following. Skylar made a sharp right, walking away from Alex. Walking straight to the back of the small store, where all the fridges were with drinks. He scanned the fridges from top to bottom, as he walked along them at the same time. Once he spotted a Dr Pepper he opened the fridge and grabbed it. "Grab anything you'd like, it's on me." Sky said casually, not looking at Alex as he continued to walk. He scanned the rest of the drinks before moving to other things. He didn't know what he wanted at that moment, but when he saw a good back of jalapeno cheddar chips he snatched it up. "I think I'm set." Sky said as he turned around and walked to Alex.

As the car rolled to a stop in one of the open parking spaces near the front of the convenience store, Alex sat up. He moved to unbuckle his seatbelt and open the door. Hearing Skylar he threw a glance towards him before nodding. "Alright." He responded with a small smile. Slipping out of the passenger seat he closed the door behind him before stepping around towards the front of the truck and then walking alongside Skylar to the store's front doors. When Skylar moved to open the door for him Alex lifted a brow before smiling faintly. "Thanks." He said before stepping past Skylar and into the store. He took a few steps further into the building before turning to wait for Skylar and then following after him. As he moved through the store he took note of any snacks or food items that he passed, though none really interested him. His attention turned to the large merchandise refrigerators and the many different drinks they contained.

After a moment of looking over the different drinks available, Alex reached forward to grab a bottle of coke only to pause for a brief moment in the action when he heard Skylar. He looked towards him with a hint of surprise before completing the act of grabbing his drink. He was going to say something, to imply that he didn't mind covering the cost of their drinks and snacks, or of the drive-in, but before he could do so Skylar was already moving off to grab a bag of chips. With a faint smile and a shake of his head, Alex stepped away from the refrigerator and moved to begin scanning the different bags of chips. Just before Skylar returned to his side, Alex had settled on a bag of the Supreme Cheddar Doritos. Taking it from the shelf he looked towards Sky and gave a nod. "Me too." He said with a smile.
