The pride/Aziza(to Kiburi) The stout and muscular lioness watched the dark cub with amusement, narrowing her orange gaze as she examined the little ones hunting posture. With a gentle smile she flicked his twitching tail with hers. "Youve got an emotional tail there, little one. Hunting can be exciting, but you cant let excitement escape that little tail. It twitches when you crouch, which moves the grasses behind you. keep it close, low and still." her gaze wandered off as she thought for a moment, "think of it... like a snake, silently trailing behind you. let it glide low, but not drag." she hoped this analagy would help the cub understand what she meant. --------------------------------------------------------------------- The pride/Aasir (to Maisha) The white male observed, noticing small features, a pale gold shimmering pelt, bright amber eyes like the sun just before dusk. His ears flicked as he noticed her tonage. decently toned, well fed, certainly healthy. she must belong to a pride, if not then she has others of some kind. he froze a moment as he noticed he had beem spotted, with a huff he glanced down, unsure of what to do. surely he had to say something now right? He stood, the gazelle were on too high alert anyways, hed never get one. He sent a low gentle and short roar in a friendly sence to let her know he was approaching, holding his tail in a high, flicking, greeting manor. He didnt quite realize how large he was in stature, his mane being very fluffed out, making him look ridiculously large for most males. He didnt get too close, he didnt want her to think he was going to attempt stealing. So he plopped to his hindquarters and flicked an ear as he awkwardly presented a smile, his blue eyes slightly flighty, "Hey there, um... well... I noticed you noticed me. Im Aasir, and I hope you dont find me any harm. Just uh... wanted to put it out there that uh, yeah... you get it." He flicked his tail a slight bit as his grin only seemed weirder, "thats a uh.. yeah killer skills... totally knocked that sucker down." he was only making it worse. he was beginning to think he should have just left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Cackle/Aparaa The strange female stalked along the middle of camp in the sand divots, flicking her ears as she panted in the heat. She thought maybe she should go out scavenging, but she was quite conccerned at the moment of where her sister was, Tau. she knew about her leg. not a defect this time, but an injurie that healed wrong. She knew something like that wouldnt last long in the savanah. but she hoped The cackle would be able to support her enough to keep her going. Yes, rude she may be, but in the same moment, she may also be just hurt and most likely knows her possible fate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Cackle/Kumbe The firey orange tipped male was on a mission for food. His nose picked up the sweet suffocating scent of rott. Any kill, fresh or not would be edible, no matter its condition. He let his nose lead the way. Just a few paces from the cackles outskirts was a rotted, mostly eaten gazelle stuck on a branch of a small tree, Likely a leaopards old kill. There was still salvagable meat on it though, and it was just low enough that he might be able to reach it. He balanced himself on the trunk of the tree with his front paws up as far as possible. Snapping his jaws on a dangling leg he tugged and the kill plummeted to the ground. a small victory. no fights involved. for now. Edited at December 6, 2023 10:21 PM by ~-Toxic_Viper-~

Akili/Pride Akili stretched and looked up from her little patch of sunlight on the ground. "Come on cubs, it's time to get a bath." She beckoned to her cubs. Cain groaned as his mother pulled him close. "Why do I always have to be clean?" He mumbled, trying to get away from Akili. Of course, you're just like your father. You never want to be clean. She to thought to herself. "Where's Eku?" She asked her son. "She said, that she was going to find some beetles." He answered simply. Mansa/Pride "Where do you think you're going?" Mansa said in a gruff voice, scooping up his little black cub. Eku was always sneeking off by herself. "I was hunting beetles! Let me go!" She couldn't believe that Cain, her brother, had snitched on her again. "It's time for your bath." Mansa said casually. Eku stopped sqirming and let her father pick her up by the scruff. "Fine!" She grumbled. Mansa was careful to not bite in the wrong spot as to not hurt her.

Maisha/ Pride (to Aasir) The lionesses flicked her tail. She tilted her head thoughtfully her gaze was curious . A lone lion didn't usually stop to chat. " Well, er... Thanks." Maisha replied, she wondered if she should introduce herself. He seemed friendly enough. After a long moment she finally spoke again. "I'm Maisha. " Kiburi / Pride ( to Aziza) . Kiburi nodded his head. He pause for a quick second then started to stalk forward, staying low to the ground. One carefull pawstep after the last, he kept his tail low raising it a bit after it brushed against the ground. He kept his ears pinned back and his stance low. After a few strides he looked back at Aziza for approval.

The pride/Aziza (to kiburi) The lioness watched the young one intently, her golden gaze holding a look of approval and pride in the young one. Her mind wandered a moment in her own realization. she envied her sister, the queen. she wished she too could have a family of her own, teach her cubs, watch them grow. but she didnt know if she could ever pay the price of losing one. Lionesses are expected to justg move past and protect the current ones or focus on the next generation, but Aziza knew, she wouldnt be strong enough to just move past it. She focused back in at the cubs posture, watching the leg placement and the tail, the ears were even in perfect placement. she noticed the tail hop a bit upwards when it touched the ground, but she could tell the cub got the point, low but not drag. it would just be a matter of practice. "thats so much better Kiburi! your learning so fast, I cant wait to see the day you out hunt even me." she laughed, "just a little more practice and itll become second nature." The pride/Aasir (to Maisha) The majestic white nomad flicked his tail tip politely in friendly demeanor, but his blue eyes held an awkward hue, he could tell he approached in a rather butchered way. In the silence he wasnt sure what he should do. walk away? that would be a weird, 'hi, bye' situation. if he stayed would he just be annoying? He was so unsure and was beginning to panic but then she introduced herself. Maisha. the name stuck, it was a pretty one, unique. "Maisha... thats a really nice one. havent heard it before. though... I havent met many." he chuckled. "Its nice to meet you Maisha." he stated, wondering if he should ask if she had any others nearby or was part of a pride, but he figured not. Itd be too pushy. He wasnt the cub eating type but he could pass as one, if he didnt speak, that is. then his blue eyes lit with an idea, "say, would you like to do a hunt with me? we could possibly take down a little something bigger together? I promise, I wont take it all." he chuckled with a light, suggestive tone, "although I could eat a whole zebra" he raised his eyebrows in a joking manor.

Akili/Pride (To Asha) "Asha, come here. I need to give you a bath." She said to her youngest cub. Asha seemed to Akili like the type of lioness that would sit and clean herself all day then just sunbathe. Akili spotted Asha on a rock and took her in her paws. "Are you just going to sit around all day?" The mother teased. ~ ~ Akili/Pride Mansa then came around the corner holding Eku in his mouth. "Thanks Mansa." Akili whispered to the king lion. She took her little black cub in her paws. "You make me worried when you sneek off like that. Do you know what happens when little cubs wander off by themselves?" She asked the small cub, who was now laying obediently in her mother's arms. Eku shook her small head to indicate that she didn't know. "Nomads, or other lone male lions, often eat small cubs that they find. You should always have an adult with you or a nomad won't hesitate to kill you." Akili whispered. Eku looked completely terrified at the news and vowed to never go out alone again. Akili knew that her black cub would not keep this promise for long, but now she knew about the dangers she might face. Eku then let her mother clean her and she went to go tease her brother. Asha | Cub | Pride | M: Akili - "Fine." The cub sighed as she got up. Asha made sure to stretch first, enjoying the feeling of her muscles loosening. She then hopped off of the rock that she was previously on before trotting over towards her mother. It was best to just listen and get the cleaning session over with even if, in her opinion, she could clean herself just fine.

Kiburi/ Pride ( to Aziza) "Wow! Thanks!" The young lion bounced up into standing position his voice full of excitement . "I hope I can be a great hunter!"
Maisha / the pride ( to Aasir) Maisha wasn't so sure how to respond to that. She had just met this lone lion. Though it would be nice to bring some extra food to the pride. "Sure," she replied. She took a quick glance around the area then finally decided to drag her antelope to a thick shrub near some rocks on the shoreline where it could be covered and hopefully not stolen. Akili/Pride (To Asha) "It's crazy to think that you're related to those to." Akili joked as she watched Eku knock Cain off of a boulder. Akili then proceeded to bathe Asha. "Do you thnk you, or Eku wouldn't be a better queen?" Akili asked, pretending it was just a silly question, but she was really quite curious to what the young cub would say. Akili gazed at Asha, wondering what kind of lioness she would grow up to be. With her big, kind eyes, and soft golden fur, Asha was bound to be known for her beauty in the future.

Diablo/Lone Hyena As the morning sun rose over the horizon it shone its golden glare on a lithe-bodied male hyena that was creeping through the grass towards a giant brute of a male lion eating at a zebra kill. The hyena's coat was speckled with dark circles, its long sloping shoulders stretching up and powerful haunches crouching as if ready to spring. A mischevious gleam showed in the male's eyes as it snuck closer, its small pawpads silent through the long brown grass, its teeth glinting in the light. Soon the hyena, whom was called Diablo, jumped out into the light after the lion had turned. He darted sideways with a speedy strike, grabbing a chunk of meat from the carcass. Feeling a claw catch his haunches, Diablo yelped, but just ran faster back into the weeds and proceeded to let out a loud cackle of a laugh after dropping the meat. "Too slow, old man!" He taunted mercilessly. +++ Ares/Nomad Male Lion Whilst the sun rose a hulking giant of a lion was already stalking prey, his fangs gleaming in the sunlight. With a giant bound, razor sharp claws flicked across the zebra's back legs, deeming it uncapable to run. The brute of a male then killed it swiftly, standing over the body with a low growl of appreciation. Hearing the fainest rustle in the grass, the lion, whom was usually called Ares, turned with glaring, steely cold eyes to see a slinking hyena. As the hyena ran towards his prey, the lion struck out with his skillet like paw, catching the hyena on the rump. Ares was a giant brute, having a broad muscular chest and powerful haunches. His dark red pelt striped with darker tiger like stripes and his rugged almost black mane showed to be a terrifying sight, but the hyena wasn't fazed. As it let out a cackle Ares bared his fangs, stalking forward slowly. "That was a mistake you are going to carry with you for the rest of your life, if you even live that long. No one messes with me and gets away with it." The brute snarled lowly, striking with astonishing speed and sending the male hyena flying. After grabbing back his chunk of meat he stalked back to the kill, his eyes glowing dangerously with a wisdom beyond his years and a deadly glint that proved a scary sight.

Pride/Aziza(to Kiburi) The stalky statured lioness flicked her tail with a sense of fondness at the little cubs excitement and joy in her words. Her orange gaze glowing as she gave a soft purr, "you will be." she said and nudged the little lion gently, "I think mothers giving baths now. you should run along too." She stated, then with a huff she ket her view span the farther grasslands. What now? She wondered if the queen was to call a hunt today. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Pride/Aasir(to Maisha) The large white beast flicked his tail in a little overzealous excitement. He was usually quite lonely. he hadnt had company in a while. A long while. and that was quite clear. He watched as she carried her kill to a shrub for hiding, but didnt follow. she might still be skeptical of him, and he didnt want her thinking he was trying to memorize where she had taken it. although hunger told him it would be a good idea, his morals refused it. Lifting his head high as he stood, blue gaze scanning the land as he tasted the air, the same scents as before, but one caught his attention, "hmm... you think we could handle a zebra together? or would that be too risky?" ---------------------------------------------------------------- The Cackle/Aparaa The lanky, oddly colored female panted in the humid heat, tongue lolling between her strong canines. Her beady dark eyes flickered around as she was soon reaching the outskirts of the cackles denning area. She wanted to find her sister, but food suddenly came to mind. She was quite hungry. Maybe if she brought her back a leg, there could be promise of a better mood. maybe. probably not. but it was an excuse to get food. The dame was rather hungry. It had been a while since the cackle went to get food together. its hard to scavenge alone. a hyena is only a threat with a cackle behind it. And they didnt seem much of a cackle. they needed numbers, offspring. ------------------------------------------------------------------- The Cackle/Kumbe The firey pelted male had managed to pull down an old leopards kill that had been dangling from a tree. thankfully no on was around. yet. this find could be taken from him any moment so he had to eat as fast as possible. Digging in right where he was, his teeth crunched even bone, licking marrow out and chewing off what little meat was still there. Luckily, his species came equipped with jaws capable of breaking, tearing, and chewing any substance on any body. so he was capable of attaining any and every nutrience from the kill.
