Fenrys - Beta Male - Mention(s): Blu (ind: Echo?, Timber?)
~
If Fenrys was one thing, he would probably be the exact opposite of the brat that their Alpha was. Blu's words sent him thinking. Of course he knew of his hatred of what used to be his friend - heck, everyone probably did. It was the reason why he was being sent out - get out of sight and he'd stop being a problem while Matzaka kept crushing their dreams.
Choosing to tackle one thing at a time, as they crossed the meadow, Fenrys finally nodded a few times. "I don't see what he's thinking, sending the two younger wolves out with us. Especially your younger sister." Fenrys shook his head in disgust and idly kicked a pebble. "You already know all of this, but for god's sake, she's the healer's apprentice. What does Matzaka think exactly she'll be doing on our little joust to the neighboring pack?" Angling his head slightly towards Blu, he continued. "I'd be honoured to temporarily take over mentoring her while we're gone. Heck knows she'll need it, although I'm hoping that if we clash, both Timber and Echo stay far away." At least, hopefully they would - Fenrys was old enough to know that bringing the half-trained juveniles into battle against another pack would be the worst idea possible.
Fenrys once again cursed his Alpha. His motives were unclear, but... Fenrys really didn't like them anyway.
Fenrys dropped his voice. "And I couldn't agree with you more. The pack would be better without Matzaka." Dangerous words indeed, especially coming from him, Matzaka's supposed "second" - and at least, he was Matzaka's loyal second. Right up until he started getting ideas.
"Blu... you're not crossing any boundaries when you say that. While we can't depose of our beloved Alpha that easily -" the beloved bit got spat out like vermin, "- most wolves would hopefully be more open-minded. And I agree with you," he said, nodding a bit once again. "Maybe we could get the other pack to come and help us out. Because believe me, the last thing I want to do is to go conquer them."
Fenrys looked at Blu. There were lots of small, tiny, irrelevant things in their plan. How they would get them to follow him back, why would they follow him -
but for now, he was in agreement with Blu on this matter.
When Fenrys returned from this silly expedition, Matzaka was coming down.
No question about it.

Matzaka - Three Years Ago
Matzaka wasn't always the power-hungry ageing wolf he was. No, he used to be nice. To not be thinking his opinion was the greatest.
This is a short excerpt of what he used to be.
(Note: This isn't part of the current RP timeline in any way. It's just written to make you understand what your crazy evil local Alpha used to be.)
~
"I'm coming to get you!" Fenrys's voice floated on the wind to where Matzaka, three years old, and crouching behind a pile of boulders, gleefully waited for his younger friend to sniff him out. It was all in good fun, and Fenrys still wasn't as good as he was - which was why he crouched, semi-visible, behind the boulders - in respect to his younger playmate.
What he wasn't expecting was for Fenrys to find him so fast. The two-year old was growing fast, and Matzaka didn't realize until he dropped down from the top of the boulders, landing squarely on him. He dropped like a stone.
"Got you!" Fenrys's joy was infectious, and Matzaka smiled at him, somewhat impressed that he had been so good at it.
He might have been less impressed if he had known his tail had been quite clearly visible from the other side of the boulders, but then again, he didn't know that.
Still smiling, Matzaka mock-growled at the two-year-old - one of his closer friends, and definitely, definitely his best playmate. Fenrys squealed a bit in excitement - not horror, as he tried to keep all agressiveness out of it - and scampered away as quickly as his shorter legs could carry him. After giving him a bit of a head start, Matzaka gave chase to him, careful to restrain his speed slightly as to not catch up too fast.
But Fenrys was growing, damn. And Matzaka was losing the race as Fenrys gave it all he had. running like the Angels of Death were after him. Matzaka sped up, attempting to catch his younger friend, but - he was still losing.
That was when Fenrys, looking back at Matzaka with a wide grin, missed the rock in front of him and went crashing into it at full speed.
Matzaka increased his pace yet further - not in his haste to catch Fenrys, but to check he was alright. That his younger playmate and best friend was alright.
"Are you alright?" Fenrys clearly wasn't, but Matzaka was simply asking out of concern for him. He was holding his right paw as if it really, really hurt, and his muzzle had a large gash on it.
Tightening his mouth, Matzaka instinctively thought to help his younger friend by licking it. But - no. That wouldn't help for a wound like this in the long run.
"M- Mat..." Fenrys managed to stutter out before wailing in pain. Was he alright? Most definitely not at this point.
"Stay here. I'll go find Leaf or one of the others." Matzaka was acting purely out of concern for his friend, not for any benefit at this point. His instincts to help him came to the front, and he dashed off - yet even faster this time - back towards the camp, screaming for help as he went.
