Taipan / Male / GSD x Golden Retriever / Mike - Foxtrot / I.D. 76 / M: All

Taipan watched as the others interacted, his eyes cold and aloof, assessing them silently. His eyes flicked to the Chief as she looked him over and he gave her a respectful tilt of his head, keeping his eyes on her, but not quite looking into her blue orbs. He knew his place, and as long as she was keeping order, he had no problems with her... not that he could do much to her if he did. These new dogs could be trouble, though.

Taipan looked at them longer than the others. They talked too much. Just that could get them in trouble; didn't they know that? He exhaled a bit forcefully, glaring especially at the tall, thin dog. His amount of speech would definitely be an issue. The two Culls spoke for a moment, then the Chief led all the dogs to an agility course.

Taipan stood silently as he listened to the Chief's orders. As she announced that she was putting him in lead of Foxtrot, he had a feeling this was a test... One he would not fail. He couldn't. If he did, all the dogs would deem him incompetent. And chaos would break out all over again. His eyes sharpened with determination to keep Foxtrot in line. Taipan looked at the regiment, scanning each dog carefully, topaz orbs flicking quickly from canine to canine.

Sabre / Female / Wolfdog (wolf-GSD-alaskan malamute) / Foxtrot / I.D: 65 / M: All

Sabre sat, looking at the newcomers. When Pfiel led another one into the area, her eyes widened slightly. He looked so fluffy! However, the wolfdog didn't doubt that much of the floof hid muscle. He looked like a powerhouse. Hoffen and the Chief spoke for a moment, and she saw the female nod thoughtfully before turning to the others and getting their attention. Sabre followed quietly, glaring at the golden and black fur of the dog that bit her ear off.

"Goody-two-paws," she muttered under her breath in a whisper. The Chief led them to the training center, then announced their assignment for the session. The area was strewn with different obstacles. Sabre was thankful that it was a relay; she doubted that she'd be able to complete everything in one go. She looked at the rest of the regiment, well aware of Seventy-Six's gaze on them.

She figured that the new small-dog... Ninety, she remembered vaguely, would do the tubes; he would fit the best for that. She wasn't sure what her strengths really were, though.... She decided to wait and see what the rest of her regiment decided first. "So, what's the plan, guys?" she asked, padding closer.

Orden | Female | Bravo Border Collie/Majorica Shepherd | 22 | M: Anfall, Karin, Thulo, Kämpe, Hoffen, Frosch

An agility course.

Orden wasn't a fighter. She didn't have the flat out speed of Frosch. But agility was something the collie cross could do. All the dogs had at least some amount of training in agility; at least, Bravo had, although she was unsure if the regiments with specified skill sets, such as gaurding and fighting, had undergone the same excersizes.

The moment that Orden had caught sight of the imposing jump standards and winding tubes, there had been a clear sense of surity that had found the dog. If anything, this was Orden's skillset; this was how she could be of use to her team. The dog barely scraped past the fighting unit, and couldn't find her footing in strength training; but she excelled in courses such as these.

Her sharp eyes took in the pattern. The series of obstacles was clear enough; more strength based obstacles in the beginning, a flat out run, hurdles and poles - the section Orden personally had an eye on - balance, tubes, and more hurdles work. She assumed, off the bat, that they would be divided into regiments; Beta believed that competition inherently improved one's preformance. Orden listened quitely, picking apart the course as the Chief spoke. Although not all her attention was on the cull's words, she did catch her mention that the new transfer, the large dog, would be excused from the excersize, and would be with Commander Thirty-Four.

Orden took a moment to size up the massive dog. He didn't look suited for agility, that was indeed true; but dogs of Bravo and Foxtrot were of all breeds and sizes - every canine was supposed to pass their exams and participate. This sudden exception was odd - and why was Hoffen not going to be leading his regiment? Was he laying out rules for the dog? Giving orders? Nobody ever knew the happenings of culls, or what Beta's intentions were. Orden vaguely caught that Ninety-Two would join Bravo, to even the numbers, Orden assumed.

The regiments split off, and Orden walked off to the right, and turned to face her team. She knew what section of the course she wanted to participate in; and she had an idea of who was suited for what role. Regardless, she waited for someone else to speak first.

Anfall | Female | AmStaff/American Bully/Plott Hound | Bravo Wolfblood | 21 | M: Orden, Karin

Still somewhat groggy, Anfall had endured through Kämpe's instructions, and split off with her regiment quickly. Not in her - what - six years of life? Five? Seven? Had she gotten used to the early morning. She had known nothing else, and even so, she despised dragging her exhausted tail out of her cell, and launching herself into training.

What were they doing? Agility? Agility, right. Anfall was generally pretty good at it. Orden was better. The dog really didn't care at this point. Perhaps they ought to assign roles - that's what this time was allotted for, yes?

"Who wants what job? Orden, you're better at that jumping and weaving and balancing or whatever. I vote you do that." Anfall flicked her ambery-brown, almost orange hued eyes to the transfer. "You. Ninety-Two, right? What are you good at?" Anfall wasn't one to make assumptions - she'd let the dog figure out for herself how she could contribute. It's not like Anfall could tell her what she was good at.

Anfall knew that she herself had a sort of explosive power and speed; not as light and quick as Orden, but not slow and certainly not weak. She reckoned she could do whatever climbing and jumping was in the first section.

Aadya | #63 | Female| Pembroke Welsh Corgi | M: Afton

She sneezed, partially from stress and partially from the falling clumps of dirt from the huge dog cramming himself into the tunnel after her. Eyes flashing as she shoved her small form back against the cool, dry wall of the tunnel, her large ears were flattened against her skull as she snapped her pearly white little teeth at him.

"Let you capture me for what? Tortute? Information? I'd rather starve in these damned tunnels."

It was now, as the normally composed dog lost her cool, that she noticed this dog's odd spots. She had never seen a dog with such a pattern before, it was intriguing.

Focus on that, yes. Breathe. Composed warrior.

Or a dead dog.

At least he couldn't fit in there, for now. Hopefully he wouldn't try to dig the small dog out. Didn't they have a little dog among their ranks? If he left to get her Aadya would make a break for it. Hopefully he was as dumb as he looked. Brutish, even. Maybe she could use that.

"I had no part in the death of your dogs. I do know they attacked my dogs, no? You're lucky to be alive, the chief cull doesn't play games."

Afton | Male | Kilo | Bouvier/Dalmation/Pyrenees| 82 | M: Aadya

The little dog snapped her small fangs. It occured to Afton that she still could most certainly nip at his exposed face, and the larger dog drew back. He didn't bother to really consider his answer; he was to upset. Too upset because Zadolt and Hero and Kordelas were in trouble, too upset because Tysta was gone, too upset because they were all in danger - all of Kilo. And this little dog may not be directly at fault, but Afton could certainly try to force his anger and despair into blame.

With cold honesty, Afton responded. He didn't have time for mind games, he didn't have time to pick out the most cunning answer, the answer that would draw her out of the tunnel she was crouched in - that had never been Afton's forte.

"You are of use to Kilo. You have information, little dog, and we need it." It was true. Afton wasn't sure how they would pry the answers out of the stubborn little long-dog, but they would. Afton had never liked the thought of torture. But she deserved to hurt after all the pain her orginization caused to Kilo.

"You had every part in the death of our dogs," he snapped, ears drawn back and lips curling. "You stood there and watched as they died, which is just as bad as killing them."

Kilo attacked Beta? I never thought that it could be a matter of self-defense.

Doesn't matter. Why should I trust her? She's wrong. Beta is always wrong.

"The Chief is just as weak. She chooses to do whatever her orginization tells her, without even a second thought."

Afton released a quiet sigh. He couldn't wait here forever. The black and white canine sat down with a huff, amber eyes almost forlorn, in a certain light.

"Look. You're trapped. Out of options. Come out of that tunnel peacefully, and if you cooperate, I'll make sure - for two weeks - no one asks questions. You won't be tortured, you won't be pried for information. You'll be treated with respect. Two weeks of safety if you come with me now."

Afton inclined his fluffy head, considering.

"If not, I'll either dig you out myself and drag you back and let everyone pick you apart piece by piece. They want blood, little dog. Blood for blood, a life for the lives Beta took."

Afton stepped back, offering an escape. He was a dog of his word, and would honor his promise. Two weeks of safety. Two weeks if she decided to cooperate.

"Come on. I made a promise, and I'll keep it. Don't try to run."

Aadya | #63 | Female| Pembroke Welsh Corgi | M: Afton

The dog drew his snapping jaws out of the tunnel, a surprise to Aadya. Maybe she could catch him off guard and make a run for it. She drew back, curling her lip at him and attempting to force her raised hackles to flatten. She must not show fear. Fear would be the death of her.

"Every one has information, big dog." She snapped, voice wavering as she fought to keep her tone under control. Using her own demeaning words against him as the little control she had over the situation slipped from her grasp, Aadya crammed herself further back against the cool tunnel wall. Hopefully he couldn't see the badly-masked fear in her eyes.

She had no control over the deaths of his dogs. Therefore, in her mind, it was not her fault. Plain and simple.

"The chief could rip a dog limb from limb if she so wished," as much as Beta would haven liked to quell the rumors passed among the dogs, there was no stopping them. And of course Aadya knew them, the little dog with massive ears, always listening. "heh, I've heard word it's been done before."

And then the big dog surprised Aadya, he offered a compromise. Not something a beta warrior would have done. She didn't trust it one bit.

"And, big dog? Even if you do somehow keep your word what happens when the two weeks are up? My corpse left at the gates of Beta as a warning, no? I may be a lot of things but a fool isn't one of them."

Afton | Male | Kilo | Bouvier/Dalmation/Pyrenees| 82 | M: Aadya

Afton growled quietly. He should have expected this. Although they shared the same golden fur, this dog was not Tysta. She did not trust every word she heard, and she was a soldier. A cold, trained soldier.

No dog could tear apart another. No matter how large or cruel or strong.

Afton frowned, recalling what limited tales he had heard of Tysta's death. That the golden dog was flung through the air by a massive cull - and he wasn't even the Chief. That the Beta dogs trotted off as though nothing had happened, as though murder was a task as easy as breathing. Could the Chief rip a dog limb for limb.

No. No, that was foolish thinking.

Afton curled his lip, narrowing his eyes. He didn't trust the dog, and it only made sense that she didn't trust him.

"When two weeks is up, I don't know what will happen to you. That's up to our commander. They might hang your corpse up on Beta walls. I don't doubt it. But two weeks to live is better than starving in a tunnel."

Hackles bristling, Afton flashed long, needle-like fangs. "You have a shot at life. Take it. Even if I was lying, what would it matter? You'd be dead by the end anyway."

That was true. There was no getting around that, in Afton's mind.

"Once they realize you and I are gone, they'll send out a search party. They'll find us soon enough, and either Arrow will come drag you out, or we will dig you out. Should I start calling for back up? You may be able to sit through hunger and dehydration, but I don't reckon you'll last against my howling."

Admittedly, he sounded like a sewer rat squawking when he howled. Left with no other choices, Afton stood, releasing of volley of barks, and then a cracking, baying howl. Somebody had to come. Somebody. Nobody back at Kilo could possibly hear and let him keep on howling if they had a chance to make it stop. In all truth, Afton found it humiliating he had to resort to this. If she was too stubborn to come, he would wait it out.

"Arrow! Arrow, Commander Gin! Spring!" He didn't trust the new dogs enough to ask for their help. They might as well team up with the long dog and make a run for it.

Another off-key howl sounded through the tunnels.

Yes, Afton could conclude that this was indeed humiliating. Maybe he ought to start digging at this point.

Aadya | #63 | Female| Pembroke Welsh Corgi | M: Afton

Aadya had trained with regiment Charlie, she wasn't going to fall for his manipulation tactics. Although he looked genuine, odd.

The death of the golden dog had affected these dogs more than she could imagine. No one at Beta cared when dogs died, it was normal. This dog had not been there to witness the death of his fellow rebel...friend? Aadya would never admit it to anyone, but that sight had been seared into her mind. Despite training with the most Elite of Beta's forces, she had never seen such raw power from any dog, let alone the Cull with an unruly regiment. There was something weird about him, she couldn't place it.

"What was his name, the dog who died?" Aadya spoke without thinking, the exhaustion from the day creeping up on her. However well trained she may be, she was no cull and needed rest like any other dog. "Or do you, too, address dog by their given numbers?"

She paused for a moment, thoughtful. "Most Beta dogs have given names. No one uses them."

Aadya surprised herself by making small talk with the enemy. She had done this when she had trained with the elite regiments as well. Maybe by building up her persona of cool indifference she could distance herself from what was actually happening to her.

She flopped down in the tunnel, trying (and failing) to keep her expression guarded as she crossed her trembling paws in front of her. A "shot at life." Aadya doubted that.

"I am not being dragged out by your sewer rat, big dog." she growled. Arrow must have been the little dog she had fought with before, unless they had another. That dog had no idea how to properly use what little weight she had. Although she had been upset, that's for sure.

Then his awful, squawking howl assaulted her sensitive ears, and she sprung to her feet. Maybe it was the built-up tension from the day, or maybe it was the heat of the moment, but the sound made her head throb.

"Shut it, big dog. I'll make you a deal. Learn to howl and I'll come out," the small dog snapped, pinning her ears and taking a step forward on shaky paws.

Afton | Male | Kilo | Bouvier/Dalmation/Pyrenees| 82 | M: Aadya

Afton's bellowing calls were interrupted by her question. Names. She wanted to know about names. With detached, glittering eyes, Afton regarded her coldly. She didn't deserve to know his name. Or, perhaps that was what would bring the dog back to earth - force her to understand what Beta was. What they did.

"His name was Tysta." Numbers? As though they aren't even dogs - they're identified with numbers. Afton huffed. "Kilo dogs are not mindless creatures labeled with a number. We are dogs, and are worth a name. We are not numbers."

What an existence that would be - to be of such little value that you werent permitted a name. But they were of Beta. The didn't deserve a name - numbers could suit them just fine.

Rat dog - how dare She! Arrow is no rat. This little loaf of a canine has no room to talk.

Regardless, Afton took her small talk as an encouraging sign. At least she wasn't actively launhcing herself into the tunnels and running, and that was progress. He was on the right track, then - but he hadn't really made any progress.

Which why he had started howling and barking - and it seemed to have sone sort of effect on her, at least. Her words were bold, but her steps were shaky and she was rattled - good. She was afraid. She deserved fear, and it would certainly benefit Afton. The kilo dog jumped at the opportunity, abruptly falling silent.

"Alright. I'll shut up. They will come find us either way - but you won't have to listen to me if you crawl on out now. Go on, then. Two weeks, remember? Two weeks of safety," Afton said, voice low and steady, as though he was trying to coax her out.

He moved away, instead shifting to block the nearest exit she could run to. He didn't trust her.

Karin | Female | Portuguese Waterdog, Portuguese Podengo, Vizsla| Foxtrot(moved to Bravo) | 92 | Mentions: Orden, Anfall, Frosch(mentioned), Asuga(mentioned)

She was happy(as happy as she could get while strictly controlling her emotions) that she was moved to Bravo. She showed her happiness by allowing her tail to wag, just enough that it wouldn’t catch attention. Wagging your tail was generally frowned upon, and it was a sign of weakness. Karin had learned to control her tail, enough so that it was a subconscious action at this point.

While the Victor female(she hadn’t bothered to learn the names of anyone) was also in Bravo, it was a small price to pay to be put in, what she considered ,the more disciplined regiment. She listened to the Chief Cull, standing alertly and watching her temporary regiment. She wanted to understand how they behaved so that she could pick apart what they thought of Beta, and how likely they were to fight back against order. She focused on her real mission, for the moment ignoring everyon else.

#Twenty-One seemed the most aggressive out of the Bravo regiment, her stance giving off the notion that she doesn’t trust anyone; slightly defensive, as if braced for someone to try and remove her(Karin much preferred the word ‘remove’ over ‘killed’, as it sounded less horrifying). She seemed inclined to attack rather than talk something out, and Karin decided that, for now, she would watch the wolfblood. She seemed to have a fiery temper, but Karin would have to know how often she went off on the other dogs before deciding if it was a problem.

#Twenty-Two, on the other hand, seemed to be the complete opposite; reserved and quiet, thinking her words through before she spoke. Around her was an air of judgment, however, so she was not completely without flaws. Karin decided she wasn’t much of a risk, for the female seem inclined to silence.

She blinked, as #Twenty-One spoke to her, bringing her back to her surroundings. “I suppose I'm fast.” she answered, tilting her head to the side a bit. “I’ll do the sprint, if that’s fine.” In her opinion, she was fast; not as fast as Frosch, but fast enough.
