Torka sighed a bit and shook her head, before letting out a little chuckle. "If you find a way to leave, be sure to let us know." She said dryly, looking out the window. "Glowmire is the only safe place in the Rotten Forest, and no one in the history of Glowmire has found the end of the Rotten Forest, or the Decaying Sea. It's as if we're on another, smaller planet than any of us were before. And no one knows how to leave." She rubbed the back of her neck nervously with a paw looking back at you. "The forest isn't like the fungi that lives on you. It's vile and only wants to eat... if you get infected with the fungus here, you may live a few days before it kills you, and it's painful every step of the way." She flattened her ears and shook her head. "There are rumors that people have left by jumping off the Decaying Cliffs, or finding a door in the forest... but they're just old wives tales."

"No one knows how to leave" Evan echoed quietly to himself. He stared blankly at the postered wall for a few minutes, thinking. "No one knows how to leave." He mumbled again to himself, even quieter than before. "Or no one will come back?" He tried to picture it, a lone adventure or maybe a party making their way back to wherever they'd come from. Would they return to guide the townsfolk out of the forest? Surely they'd try if they'd made friends here. But even if by chance someone made it out alive, could they survive the journey back? Evan shook his head. There were too many factors, too many uncertainties. This place was unnatural from top to bottom. He'd felt at the mercy of the forest ever since he arrived. He stood to leave but paused at the door. "Thanks" He said, tapping the pouch Torka had given him earlier before exiting.

Evan gingerly opened the door to the inn, again noting the lack of other travelers. This was beginning to get eerie. "I caught some fish. For the inn"

"The Mushroom King Party?" Is that where everyone was? Evan surveyed his options. "The Snapper. Please."

-You've earned 85 pinecones!- Torka nodded solemnly as she began cooking your meal, taking her previous pan off the burner to begin heating another as she feleyed the fish. "They went out a couple days ago to track down the Mushroom Dragon on Yore's quest list and they haven't come back yet. I haven't heard any terrible sounds from the forest, and sometimes adventures stay out there for months. But there were 5 of them... it was the biggest party I've ever seen in Glowmire" She sighed and paused her voice as the fish hit the pan and hissed with the heat. "I just... I don't know, I expected them to have an easier time and be back sooner. It's hard not to worry, yknow?" She smiled as she placed your plate on the counter happily. -You've gained +5HP and +3Luck-

Evan nodded slowly. "A few days isn't that long to hunt a dragon. Maybe they're just being careful." He thought aloud. Or the dragon was hard to track. Or the large group traveled slower. Or any number of things that could delay the simplest of journeys. He took a bite of the snapper, finding he was hungrier than he thought and finishing the whole thing. "Thanks for the meal. I'm going to see what else I can catch" He said before getting up and leaving.

Tap, tap. "Is there anything I could do that might help other people at the Inn? Like get them something?"
