The two different options are that there's a council of some sort (our characters) or that your characters would be apprentices of the Timekeeper (who'd be my character)

I have no idea what that all is but it sounds exciting- apprentices might be cool to do because then they would be amazed by someone who is so much more powerful than them helping them do whatever and teaching them while the other would be cool because adults in power would have a lot of drama and just be fun

The council would all have titles and different roles/responsibilities. Like the Timekeeper. I have a character I made specifically for a 'Timekeeper' role, yes.

The Timekeeper, in either one, would be in charge of the clocks- Which in either world would be like being in charge of people's lives. Everyone has a clock and the Timekeeper is in charge of those clocks. Fixing them if they break or crack or anything like that, changing the 'season' that the clock is in, which just means the theme/outlook of life, pausing or unpausing clocks to give people actual free will, determining how long someone gets to live, and just that kind of stuff.

oh you know, allowing someone free thought or a life of enslavement. "just that kind of stuff."

Haha. Well, I mean, the Timekeeper would be more of a myth to people. Or more of a secret. People would think they have free will, never realizing they don't.

The council, if I went with that one, would all have clocks too, but they would've been paused and gifted to them by the Timekeeper.

And they'd all have roles/responsibilities in a similar manner to the Timekeeper, all a part of the secret society/council of basically higher powers that control different aspects of life/the universe.

Each one would've just come into existence at some point with their roles, and they've been doing them forever, over time forming the council and whatnot.

As for the apprentice one, it'd be similar but the Timekeeper would be training the apprentices to try and ease the load, the apprentices having their clocks paused and chosen in complete secrecy by the Timekeeper.
