I don't particularly fancy the general WP definition of literacy - word count is not the most important, and as for grammar, I wouldn't even mind all lowercase or no commas for the aesthetic, so long as I can understand what's going on.
Storytelling ability matters. Being able to move the plot in an interesting yet reasonable direction. One problem with many literate RPs / roleplayers, nicluding me, is that thousands of words may get writte, but nothing of importance happens. I need a sense of motion, that there's something dynamic.
Diction too is important, it helps to have an expansive vocabulary. I love flavorful words sprinkled in, but only when necessary. Whenever some thesaurus-wielding wannabe writes "his glitttering optic orbs swiveled around in his cranium sockets," SO CRINGE. Another minor but common pet peeves: when roleplayers write "the male" or "the female" instead of "he" or "she." Outside of a scientific context, referring to humans in that way sounds weird, not smart. Name or pronouns work fine; it's not a crime to repeat words.
Most important, characters are the essence of RP. I want characters with multi-dimensional personalities that feel tangibly real, regardless fo how ridiculous the plot or setting may be. |

Oh, the character sheet thing - I spend a lot of time working in them, but often, with completely new characters, need to get a feel for them during writing, which often creates shifts for the original sheet aha |

Speaking of characters, I'd like to say I'm getting better at writing personalities and handling their portrayal, but then again I'm not sure. Sometimes it feels like I still have a lot to learn, despite what people may positively say about my writing abilities. :P At least this Club, and the two Growls about characters Valkyrie made, have inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and start writing different characters. Of which I possibly wouldn't have created them like I have until now. |

YES! I usually have to do a 1x1 with basic appearances and personalities before actually making a proper character sheet, just to get the feel of the character. Thats for newer ones. If its an older character, I'm usually guilty of finding older signup sheets and copy/pasting most of the info XD Takes me days to make them sometimes, as you probably saw on the shifter rp
I really enjoy making them. the only problem is findinga few more words for the personality. Usually i just pertend they're a real life person and act like they're my invisible friend in order to get any progress |

appearance is what i enjoy too much. i could go on for hours writing about the appearance. i really do need to update my characters soon |

I prefer male. although sometimes I have to use my female one for longer appearance and personality stuffs. and I started the "Everyone knows Vanessa" saying by total accident by the way |
