Kenai || 3 Years || Male || Strays United Guard || M: Alha, Shalah & Freya(dir), Eastern Pack(ind) ... Following Alha for border patrol had proved to be well worth the time, despite the chill creeping into his paws from the snow. He'd made note of the traps they passed and where the clear path was, Kenai was careful as they had to jump barely visible traps, He'd had some prior experience with such devices and wasn't keen on repeating it. However, as they traveled a howl drifted above the trees causing him to halt, the hairs on his nap standing on end. Unease clawed at his being as he flicked his ears with a frown hearing a second more familiar howl, before Alha lifted her head and replied with her own. He knew what made that howl without needing to be told, a wolf, and one his leader seemed to know. . Kenai stiffened when the smaller dog turned to face him mentioning a change of plans, glancing briefly at Freya to gauge her reaction to the news. So Shalah had been that second howl, no wonder it sounded familiar. So they had allies in the wolves, but some might still be hostile? Well, that wasn't great he grimaced at that thought. "Got it" Kenai huffed with a stiff nod to Alha. Pausing when the medic approached, offering a nod and flick of his ear in silent greeting. He managed to relax slightly as his mind turned to the task at hand, although part of his hackles remained raised as the scent of wolf assaulted his nose. Falling in step just behind his alpha and medic, ever watchful of their surroundings as he sidestepped and hopped over traps when necessary. His ears on a swivel, Kenai was still on edge but managed to keep it together in favor of doing his job.

Loki | M | Hunter | SUP | M: Dogs at camp, Alha's patrol(ind) Loki had just disappeared down towards the human settlements to check on the traps when he heard Shalah howl. Lovely. Fine and dandy. He huffed, pausing as he heard Alha answer as well. Loki sighed, knowing that his alpha would probably lead her patrol up that way. He didn't trust any of the new dogs, or any dog, to go with her but since he had to check on the traps today, some dog had to go with her. Loki turned back, trotting as fast as his little legs could go back towards the camp. Hmm. . .he supposed he could trust Harry to go with her. And maybe he could get rid of that old one. The last thing they needed was elders slowing the pack down. Yeah, that would do great.
Loki got back to camp before letting out his loudest bark to call the dogs. If they listened, that is. Harry was right where Alha had left him so that was fine. He flattened an ear before saying to any dog listening, "Alha has requested two more dogs to go on her patrol to the wolf pack. I need to check on traps today so I'll take Harry and. . .Frodo is your name? to the meeting point and then head to patrol." He gave a side glare to the other two (Temari and Quilo), "You two need to stick around camp and patrol those borders while the alpha is gone. She won't be too pleased if that isn't done when she gets back."
Loki huffed before padding to the edge of the clearing to wait for the two dogs to join him. After a few moments, whether they did or not, he took off at a fast lope towards the eastern side of the territory. They should meet up with Alha's patrol at the top at that point where he could *cough* drop them off and disappear. He had been a grumpy mood most of the morning and honestly would have preferred staying out on his trap patrol than worrying about this pathetic patrol.

(I know I said I would wait until the New Year but I think it's best if we get this ready now :3)
Time Skip! Due to lack of responses and an agreed skip to get us past the rut, we will begin again in the evening. The injured party of wolves is back at camp, all of which have been treated to the best of Xola's and Violet's attention. Everyone is free to be hanging out around the camp, I will consult my characters locations in discussion.
The dog patrol had met up but had gotten lost trying to find the path up the waterfall. They are currently somewhere in Eastern Pack territory, trying to find their way to the pack. ! Notice! If you have a dog in that patrol, wait until I post an Alha/Shalah reply! That will set the tone and stage for you all. Secondly, you may post after it and before I do a post for Shadow. He will find them but you can bounce off him as well once we get moving again. !
All other dogs must be in their camp! Yes, you can do filler posts that allow your characters to do 'sweep patrols' by themselves. Interactions are great as well!
Raven Pack! All wolves are to be back in the camp! I know most of them is already there and there hasn't been much activity over there but fear not, there will be some come nighttime. No one will be getting any sleep on my watch >:3 You can either post fillers or wait for a Shiva post. (cough yes I said Shiva lol)
Lastly, I know there was one of you (for certain) that wanted to kill off a character. After my posts go out (either tomorrow or Monday), you will have a chance to have your character 'wander off'. There will be an event during the night that will kill/remove any unwanted characters. I will be posting in discussion which one of my own characters will be removed. You can either do the same or PM me.
Weather and time: Sunset is upon us, moving slowly behind the trees. The air has gotten a bit colder, promising snow later on. The snow that had been on the ground is still there, creating a thin layer of frost. The sky is clear for now but lurking clouds also foreshadow upcoming snow. (Note: I will control when the snow comes, I do not want posts that have snow falling in them. They will be ignored and you will be issued a warning.)

Alha | Alpha Female | SUP | M: Patrol Shalah | Medic | F | SUP | M: Patrol Alha panted, sitting down before letting out a half-hearted sigh. They had just spent the better of a few hours trying to find the path up the waterfall, making their way up the waterfall and then trying to find which scent went with which pack. Which. . .was not going well. When they had reached the waterfall, there was no obvious path. Shadow always made it look easy but looking at the bare rock proved it was a bit tougher than she wanted to admit. Frodo and Harry had gotten to them by that time. Alha had been surprised when Loki showed up with the two, and then even more surprised when he showed the path. He seemed off still and did indeed go off towards the settlements afterwards. Again, she'd have to check back with him later that evening when he gave her a chance. It was nice that he wasn't being his normal clingy self but it did worry her.
The path up was narrow and there were many times where either she or Shalah had slipped. She hadn't looked behind much other than to make sure the patrol was alright. That took longer than expected. They had stopped for a short break before heading out towards Eastern Pack territory. Or at least, they thought it was. The frost on the ground did not help many of them, especially since the wolves didn't seem to mark this side of their border very often. Alha was certain that they had wandered the whole border that was in between Shadow's territory and the Eastern Packs.
Either way, she was tired. She was sure the others were too. Shalah plopped down beside her with a growl, saying shortly, "I give up. I'm calling Shadow again. Maybe he'll be able to come get us now." Alha flicked her ears back for a moment before directing her attention to the rest of her patrol. Shalah's call rang out beside her as she said, "Sorry about today fellas, the only territory I really know my way around is the current one we are living in. Maybe if the wolf pack decided to check this border a bit more, we would have a more solid lead despite the frost." Shalah finished her call beside her just to insert another piece in, "And more to come. I doubt that small snowstorm from last night is going to be the only one. There's a few lurking clouds nearby, so later tonight perhaps." Shalah nosed her pile of herbs before asking, "Does anybody's paws hurt? I have a few herbs to help with that."

Aoife || 4 Years || Female || Eastern Scout || M: Pack (inc) ... A yawn escaped her as she shook her head, the chill bitting through her coat making her uneasy. Aoife wasn't fond of snow, even less so of the storms that brought it. Glancing up at the sky she frowned, if the dark clouds on the horizon didn't bring snow she'd be surprised. Glancing back at the camp from where she sat at the entrance, she could make out a few figures still moving about in the fading light. The rest had likely retired to their dens for the night, and she'd soon join them. Afterall her watch at the entrance wasn't something that she'd been told to do, it had simply become habit from her old pack. Old habits die hard, and it was no different for her. Maybe she'd ask alpha Killjoy what he thought about having someone on at the camp's entrance overnight, it could be beneficial during the coming winter, specially with the large cats they'd dealt with recently. They didn't need one of those things sneaking into the samp while the pack slept, that would be..devastating. Aoife's ear flicked back at the faint sound nearby, followed by a twig snapping. Her head whipped around, jumping to her paws as her hackles took on end. Scanning the undergrowth she barred her teeth, scenting the air she cursed the wind for blowing from her side, it made trying to pick apart smells from the forest from those of her packmates in camp. After standing for a few breaths she sighed into the silence, maybe she was just on edge from everything that's happened. It didn't seem like anything was there, besides anything coming close to the camp was either stupid or reckless. Not that either of those made her feel any better, but it meant if there had been something in the treeline, it had fled the moment it scented the whole pack was present. She huffed and settled back down under the large bush she'd been using to shelter from the wind. She'd wait till after nightfall to return to her den, just to be sure. Watchful gaze turned on the trees, fighting the sleep that weighed on her eyelids. .~. .~-[][][]-~..~-[][][]-~. .~. Willow || 6 Years || Female || Raven Queen || M: Brute, Pack(ind) ... After Brute's return to the den she'd happily lapped at the soaked moss he'd brought with him, curling at his side as her tail swayed happily. Licking his cheek she let her head rest atop her paws, a smile pulling at her lips as she relished the warmth from her new mate beside her. That was something she never thought she'd say again, it was almost bittersweet, moving on from the family she'd lost so many years ago. But that's what they would want, for her to be happy, and she was. Brute's presence in her life made her happy again, and for that she'd cherish everymoment. Huffing softly as she shifted closer hearing the breeze from outside, the den shielding them from the chill that lingered. Willow was content, an almost purr-like sound rumbled in her throat as she turned her nose into Brute's shoulder. Pushing herself closer to him she let herself relax, exhaustion pulling at her eyelids. Drifting of to sleep beside the darker wolf, Willow fell into peaceful dreams. Temari || 3 Years || Female || Strays United Guard || M: Quilo, Kenai(ind) ... Temari paced the camp entrance, nerves prickled her pelt as she worried about her brother on pack territory. She knew he wasn't super fond of wolves and as much as she trusted the peaceful bond the stray's leader had with them, Temari couldn't help but worry. He was the last family she had, if something happened, she wasn't sure what she'd do. Her back leg ached with the cold settling in, a glance at the sky told her it would just get worse overnight. She did her best to hide the limp it caused, but she couldn't hide it entirely, not with her paw tilted at a slightly odd angle. It was good her brother couldn't see her right now, he'd likely throw a fit and demand she go to a den and rest. At least this way she could brush it off a simply a stiffness from the cold, even if the pain made her lips curl faintly. She just hopped she'd be able to keep her injury from Quilo, Temari had grown fond of him and wanted to be friends. To that end she wasn't sure if she could lie about why she had a limp. Finally coming to a stop and sitting at the edge of the camp she let her gaze wander up to the sky, watching the clouds as they drifted and gathered. The darker ones promised some snow later, she guessed likely after nightfall. Not something she was looking forward to, but aside from her hip the cold wasn't an issue. Temari had a thick coat built for the snow and ice, it was just the injury that didn't play well when temperatures plumetted. Her mind starting to drift to different times, when she'd watch the sky like this. Back then there was a heavy collar tied to a chain that kept her close to the kennel, along with the barks and howls from the other sled dogs within the large enclosure. Her face darkened, those times weren't the best, not after the master had left his son in charge. She wished she could just forget what that human man had done to them, but her mind simply didn't seem capable. .~. .~-[][][]-~..~-[][][]-~. .~. Kenai || 3 Years || Male || Strays United Guard || M: Patrol(dir), Temari(ind) ... After having taken so long for them to fid the path and then to even climp to the top of the waterfall, he could understand being tired. Kenai huffed and shook the snow that clung to his pelt, watching for a moment how his breath clouded in front of him. He sat a short distance from the rest, ear flicking as he kept himself aware of their surroundings. It seemed Alha and Shalah had decided to call for some sort of escort from the pack, the snow seemed to have thrown everyone's sense of direction off. It certainly didn't help for trying to scent the way there, the markers smelled stale, and any scents in the area where old and fading. If Kenai had to guess, none of the wolves had been down this way recently to mark the broader or hunt. Glancing over to the medic as she mentioned having something for their paws if the climb had hurt them, he simply shook his head. While the cold had been annoying it wasn't something that had given him issue, he was only thankful he'd managed to dig his paws in well enough. Having fallen to the back of the ground he'd stood his ground a few times to keep one of the others from slipping, almost pushing the dog in front of him at one point after they lost traction on the ice. Kenai flicked an ear dismissively, turning his attention to the forest around them. He felt uneasy but shoved that as far down as he could, it wouldn't help to get nervous out here. Doing so could get him and others hurt, and that wasn't something he wanted on his conscious. Specially after what happened with his sister, if he'd been more aware maybe he could've prevented that accident, even if he took the hit instead of Temari. She'd probably give him an ear full if she knew what he was thinking, Kenai chuckled to himself. Glancing up at the sky he just hoped she was talking care of herself while he was out here, the cold was going to make her leg act up and he knew how stubborn his sister could be.

Violet l Female l Medic Aprentice l Eastern l M: Hondo, Veracious, Xola, others . Violet was thankful that she went out for that herb run that morning. Because when Xola and the patrol got back, it was worse then she had thought. Sure she had seen Xola go and rush with River, the Raven wolf who she had seen alot her recently, and knew that if Xola went it was urgent. But not this bad. When they got back, she noticed Veracious had some serious gashes and scratches, all of which she thought was relatively easy to treat, but Hondo, the Beta? She had never seen anything like it. Had the snow leopard just dragged him around and threw him into a tree? Because that's that's it looked like. Xola had filled her in while treating to the wounds, and the battle sounded awful. Hondo taking the worst blows. Both his back hips seemed out of place or even broken. But shoulders were sprained, he had several gashes down his side and face. It looked like he had been the hell and back. She treated the females wounds to the best of her ability. First she cleaned them with moss one of the others had brought to the den, then had chewed a blend of herbs and softly placed applied them to her wounds. Followed by cobwebs she had retrieved earlier. After fetching another moss of water and a squirrel from the prey pile, she gave her a few seeds for the pain before helping Xola with Hondo. Watching as she did her magic and assisting Whenever she could. Once Xola was finished with him, Xola had told her she could rest for the night, and that's exactly what she did. She hadn't yet told Xola about her and Hymir. She thought to wait and tell her in the morning. But where had he gone off to anyway? Once she left to help with the patrol, it seemed as if he had disappeared. Nonetheless, without worry, she quietly and quickly drifted off to sleep. . Brute l Male l Beta l Raven l M: Willow . After returning from the river, he had tended to Willow's every need. He had brought moss from the river, and two rabbits for the both of them in case they were hungry in the night. He entered the den and quietly and carefully walked to the backside of Willow and laid down softly, feeling her touch as she leaned into him, her head lying softly on his shoulder. He smiled as he felt her drift off to sleep. The slow movement of her belly and the rhythm of her heartbeat luring him to sleep. His last thoughts before he drifted off to sleep were about her, and the bright future ahead for them both.

Veracious Female | 5 Years | Mexican/Red Wolf | The Eastern Mountain Pack | Hunter | M: (Dir) Violet. (Ind) Hondo. Storm. Killjoy. The walk back felt like ages. She was so glad it was over. Veracious lay inside the medic's den, on her side that wasn't injured. Her wound stung with pain when any pressure was put on it. When Violet came to treat her wounds, she gave her a small "thank you," but thanking wolves other than Storm still felt strange, so it was more of a mumble than anything. Hondo was badly beaten up after the attack. Definitely a few broken bones, and some nasty gashes. She still felt awful for not being as helpful. If she'd just been a little bit braver, maybe he wouldn't have gotten as hurt. She tried not to blame herself as much, but it was hard not to, since she knew it was all her fault. Guilt was something Veracious rarely felt, and it didn't feel very good at all. Would Killjoy blame her too? Would everyone blame her? Would Hondo blame her? It was beginning to get late, and she could feel the exhaustion sweeping in. Today was a long day for sure; not a good one at all though. And worse, she had to stay in the medics den for now, though even if she didn't have to, she probably couldn't move without some help at least. She gave a soft sigh before curling herself up as much as she could. And the moment she closed her eyes, she fell asleep.

River | F | In works - Alpha Female | Eastern Pack | M: Killjoy, Eastern pack(ind) Night | M | Alpha Male | Raven Pack | M: Killjoy, Eastern pack(ind) River laid her head down with a sigh. The injured wolves were in Xola's den, no doubt getting treated. The others were around the camp, doing their things. She was tired. She currently laid not too far from Killjoy's den, waiting. Her alpha looked like he waas talking to Shadow. A howl had been heard, faint but there, only moments before. River was thinking it was Shalah's howl, the dog patrol lost in the woods. After a few minutes of watching the two alphas talk, Shadow took off into the forest at a lazy lope. Night, on the other hand, started making his way over to her. Right. . .time to tell him.
River sat up, opening her jaws to start talking but her alpha cut her off. "Shadow is headed off to find Shalah and the dog patrol. He thinks they got stuck at the waterfall. He's going to bring them here, at least for the night so Shalah can help Xola as much as possible. For a dog, she's skilled in what she does, plus she might have extra herbs for Xola." Night said before looking towards the setting sun. "I need to get back to my pack, I've been away long enough. First though," he paused, frowning slightly before resting his head on top of hers, "I need to speak with Alpha Killjoy regarding you."
"Alpha-" River started only to pause again as Night sighed and nuzzled her. "I know. Shadow told me and. . .convinced me that it was time to let you forge your own path." She gave him a shocked glance and he flattened his ears slightly. "I've always considered you like a daughter River. You will always be welcome back into my pack if anything happens." River smiled up at him and Night returned it before turning to give Killjoy's den a long stare. "Now. . .take me to your new alpha so I might have a. . .talk with him." Night huffed, making it clear he wasn't leaving without doing so. River giggled before leading him over to Killjoy's den.

Killjoy | M | Alpha | Eastern Pack | M : Shadow, Night (dir.) River (ind.) . It'd been a long, exhausting day, not only for the Alpha, but also those around him. He emerged from the Medics den, having checked on his injured packmates to see the sun setting. There was a cold breeze settling in, and the dark was covering them like a blanket. His blue eyes gazed around, watching his pack, and those visiting start to die down for the night. He needed to speak with Night, but had he left already for his territory? Only time would tell he supposed. . His traveling eyes looked around the place he once again called home. He hadn't stayed long enough to experience a winter here, but so far, it'd been tough, and they were simply just a few days into it. The icy breeze picked back up, ruffling through his short coat, causing the male to shiver. It was time to retire for the night. Slowly, and carefully he made his way to his den, listening behind him in case someone called out, or was in need of assistance. The cold was not helping his stiff leg, but he was too stoic to tell Xola that. . The dens were all positioned to be a wind break, and as he stepped into his own, the warmth was inviting. He sighed and circled once, positioning himself to watch outside of his den until River came to join him. He could hear Night before he saw him, the Alpha's voice bouncing off his dens walls. He sat up, black tail wrapped around his legs. "Hello Night." He said warmly, blinking slowly at the other male. He didn't dare break the eye contact that he held with his old friend, but instead watched River out of the corner of his eye. "How can I help you?" He asked, his voice smooth with an even tone.
