Nyx | Dragon | Warrior | Female | Rider - Kaisen M: Kaisen, Arya, Vervada (dir) - Nyx held the older dragon's eyes cooly, not moving or displaying any emotions towards her. She nodded at the human rider, responding to her timid wave. She snorted in amusement as Arya went on to talk about the saddles and how preventable the dangers of falling with how the straps looked like they were about to snap at any moment just by getting new saddles. "What Kaisen said is true. You won't have to worry about falling. You'll have us as backup in case anything happens to either of you." She stated calmly. After over a year of strengthening her mental bond with Kaisen, she had made it to the level where she could sort of converse with other riders, human or elf, but only if they were close enough. "Though if I'm being brutally honest, the newer saddles may be more comfortable for both parties involved, but they still feel pretty weird and wrong." She teasingly flicked Kaisen on the back of his head, carefully using the flat part of her tail. Their relationship may have improved from the start of the bonding, but she still loved to annoy or prod him for no other reason than to simply annoy him and have fun while doing that. |

Vervada huffed, "Well any saddle isn't comfortable" she said, still grumpy, but was appeased as Arya turned to question the other dragon's rider, her eyes glinting, mildly impressed by the girl's confidence to address him directly. She snorted again "Well I don't approve of this "trust" exercise" she growled at the human rider, then turned her gaze back to his dark dragon. "Of course she doesn't have to worry about falling, it's not my first ride, you know" she growled, tail twitching again as she became more irritated. She may be unhappy, but it didn't mean she was incompetent, she was perfectly capable of catching a falling rider, and had done so multiple times. Hey, she'd even caught a falling, wounded dragon once!
Her eyes betrayed her scorn and frustration as the dragon began chatting about newer saddles "Like I said, not my first ride. I too had a fitted saddle once you know" she growled at the younger dragon. Hmph, just because SHE had a rider it didn't mean she was above her in any way. She'd been flying with a rider before this youngster had even been BORN. But even as she spoke, her eyes lightened to flash with a quick burst of amusement as the dark dragon flicked her rider teasingly. But really, such a young dragon accusing HER of incompetence! Unthinkable. |

Nyx | Dragon | Warrior | Female | Rider - Kaisen M: Vervada (dir) - Nyx narrowed her eyes, her tail sweeping behind her slowly. She could feel the tension between the two of them, and even though she hadn't said anything wrong, she didn't want there to be even the smallest amount of discord between anyone, dragons, elves, and humans alike, so she dipped her head shallowly. "I did not mean it like that. I was saying that only to your rider. We've worked together a few times in the past several moons, so I know what you're capable of." Nyx responded, keeping her voice neutral. Her scales prickled with how the older dragoness was growling at her. She had done nothing wrong! She was simply trying to reassure a new rider. Nyx held her gaze without flinching, despite being several times smaller than her, being younger, and lacking some of the experiences she had. She felt that she deserved respect from the older warrioress considering she had worked just as hard as she had to become a warrior at a younger age. |

Kaisen gave Nyx a glare as she flicked him in the back of the head. Sensing the tension building, he gently patted her neck. 'Easy,' he said across their mental link. 'I remember her old rider. She's dealt with a great loss. You can't blame her for being angry.' Sitting up straight again, he glanced around the clearing. Most of the riders appeared to have successfully wrangled their dragons into the saddles, and many were waiting for the next steps. His gaze drifted to the Head Dragon and her rider, waiting for the signal for the next step.

Arya winced, sensing the tension and feeling the powerful waves of anger coming from Vervada. Their bond wasn't very strong yet, but an emotion that strong came across their link loud and clear. "Let's make sure the saddle sits right," she said, attempting to snap through the tension. Placing her foot in one of the stirrups of the saddle, she hauled herself up, swinging her other leg over the other side of Vervada. It was a little bit like mounting a horse. But a much larger, more dangerous, scaly horse. Arya wiggled around a little bit once she was in place, making sure the saddle didn't shift around too much or end up sliding one way because of too much weight and loose straps. "Is it comfortable for you?" She asked, then caught herself. "Well, as comfortable as it can be," she corrected.

Ocean Breeze, dragon, trainee, female. Mentions Norrix The elf walked closer and whispered something. Ocean nodded. She wasn't sure how to talk to the elf. Her new rider. Glancing around, she wondered if she could use her mind. Maybe... she could give it a try. I am Ocean Breeze. And you must be my rider. Who are you? She felt as if it had worked. She hoped it had. Cautiously, Ocean took a step forward and gave the elf a little sniff. Strange. |

Soare | Female | Dragon | Head Hunter | M: Junover (dir) - She watched as Junover walked over to get a saddle. Growling to herself Soare tried to reach his mind. Once she had felt stable enough to talk to him he had already chosen a saddle and walked over. Soare froze and growled again, spinning back slightly. There was no way that she was going to be ridden with a saddle, if that was the way to be ridden she didn't want it. It wasn't a matter of how the saddle looked, how much it had been used...she didn't like to feel trapped. And wearing a bulky hunk of leather on your back with straps tightened around your stomach, and not to mention the though of possibly being handled with reins, or a bit. Ha! She wasn't a horse, if these two were meant to be together for a while the little elf would need to understand her boundries...and saddles were one of them. |

She listened to what her rider had to say about Vervada and lowered her head slightly when he mentioned her old rider. She didn't know what happened to the purple warrioress's old rider, and she didn't want to, and she certainly wasn't going to press. "I truly didn't mean to offend her." She grumbled to Kaisen. "I apologized." Digging her talons into the earth, she turned her head towards where the Head Dragon was observing everyone. Nyx waited for her signal, itching to be up in the air. |

Juno could feel the disdain radiating from Soare, and her eyes were glaring daggers into the saddle. The saddle looked to be a decent fit, so he wasn't sure why she was upset. He heard her growl instead of giving a response.
"What's wrong with this saddle? It looks like it'll fit alright," He said with a thoughtful tone. Realizing the bond hadn't been locked in yet, he gave her fur a quick boop and then quickly stepped back. Juno felt a mental click, and then the muffled thoughts from Soare became easier to hear.
Did I overstep a boundary? No, no, it's fine. It was going to happen anyways. He caught the end of her train of thought- it seemed to be she was somewhat insulted by the notion of wearing a saddle. Of course boundries were necessary, but was was Juno supposed to do? Ride without a saddle and get his skin bruised and shredded like cheese? Or even better, fall head-first from a couple hundred feet up in the sky.
Juno thought about dropping his cheery facade. He wouldn't be able to hide anything from his partner anyways, and he was getting a worrying feeling that he wasn't going to agree with Soare often.
"It's alright! The straps are only going to be just tight enough that I don't fall off. And no bit or reins, you'll still be in control of where we go," Juno said, keeping his gentle tone of voice and giving a genuine-looking smile. He was a jerk in his head sometimes, but at least he was pretty persuasive.

Vervada's lip curled even more as she stared down at the young warrioress, her gaze burning into the other's unflinching gaze. "You hardly know me" she snarled low, almost inaudible. Just because Nyx had made it to the warrior ranks at a young age didn't mean she was on the level with Vervada. Experience counted the most, and that was what Nyx was lacking, she thought angrily, eyes narrowing again. It didn't take long for the young dragon to look away, although even she had to admit it was most likely more because of her rider than her own blazing eyes.
Her attention was quickly diverted as Arya, without even asking threw herself onto the saddle, wiggling around and making the leather shift slightly against her scales. Her head whipped around as she glared at the girl. Comfortable? Of course not! She hissed slightly. This girl may be one of the better ones.. but that didn't mean she didn't need to learn some lessons. With an angry snort she flicked her tail lightly, the gentle tap in her mind actually a rather powerful shove, clearly meant to knock Arya out of the saddle.
