Even as he wondered away, he was still thinking about Lidiya. He should have known she wasn't ready. But he still pondered of what that lean meant. But still, it was his fault. He wasn't thinking clearly, probably not even at all, and look where he is now. But he couldnt just leave her to fend for herself could he? She could be running straight into the other pack as he was thinking now. And he wouldn't know. No. Lidiya was stronger than that. And besides, they couldn't have caught up now, could they? Worry itched at him, like one of those itches you just couldn't scratch. She didn't want to see him, or be even near him. But he could still follow her right? That wasn't stalking of you were trying to protect them? Right?
Either way, he turned around and began back to the stream, his fish still lying in the center, reminding him of what he had just done. He sighed, but continued into the bushes where he had last seen Lidiya go. And of course, he picked up her scent immediately. And so he followed it, just until he had heard her scream. He had stopped dead in his tracks. They were here. He had no clue how many. But he wasn't going to let them lay a paw on her. He took off running, she was a ways away, as he had only barely picked up her howl. But he ran and ran, his skin where his wounds were tightening and untightening, causing only a little bit of pain. It wasn't long before he slowed into a trot, having picked up the scent of other wolves. He crouched down and trotted ahead, knowing that they wouldn't see him nor smell him. Then he saw them. That stupid alpha and five enforcers. Larger than the one that had guarded him, which he didn't like to think about. They were dragging her away, he gaze panicked, her body rigid. He held back a snarl, lowering more and trotting to the side of the group. Charging in now would be a death wish, but as long as Lidiya got away, he didn't care. He couldn't talk her way out of it could he? No. He would have to fight. Two enforcers were dragging her, while three guarded the alpha. Get the enforcers off of Lidiya, and she would be home free. At least her hoped. A large mountain rock loomed ahead. If he jumped up there and on the enforcers, he could easily get them both off. It was his only plan. As they rounded the boulder, Kodak sprinted and jumped onto the border, the only sound was his claws clicking on the solid rock. He leaped with all his might, targeting the enforcer closest to him. He leaped off the boulder and onto the first enforcer with such power that he was sure he had broken his spine, and the enforcer crumbled to the ground, he leaped off the first body and was met midair by the second enforcer. Kodak latched jaw on his opponents neck, his claws digging into his shoulders, as the Alpha had done to him. He threw the enforcer off of Lidiya, and released the enforcers neck long enough before yelling at Lidiya, "RUN!!". This of course, got the attention of the other wolves, meaning Kodak's chances were now slim to none of surviving. But as he latched in battle with the Grey Hill wolf, all he could think about was Lidiya, and how he hoped she would get away.

As Kodak leaped from the boulder, Lidiya could barely believe it. Correction; why was Kodak doing this for her? Because, as she watched him tear into the enforcers, and the six wolves that were directly hostile to him turned their attention to him, it was... almost clear that he had a death wish.

All she could do was stare disbelievingly at him. Was this another male thing where she was a damsel in distress and in heat? Or... did Kodak seriously still care about her?

Although Kodak had unintentionally pushed all his dominance into his command to her - to get out of this lock - at least the command had snapped her out of her disbelief. Kodak was here, and actually doing something.

Like hell she'd abandon him over here. He didn't stand a chance against the four of them alone, and it was like he'd willingly sacrifice himself for her to get away and get recaptured later down the line.

Instead of obeying his command, she took advantage of the momentary respite that Kodak had bought her - at quite a high price too - to take Kodak's back. Not in the way that he had implied almost half an hour ago. And she had to hope that Kodak didn't get distracted by her pheromones again. But the last thing she wanted to do was leave Kodak here against some of her former pack.

The odds were significantly against them, but then if Kodak wanted to fight, she'd be there no matter how many times he asked her to run.

"Either we both run or we both go down here together." Lidiya calmly informed Kodak as she took in what used to be her pack. She had known them since pups, and yet - here she was, sizing them up.

It was a hopeless battle, even now that Lidiya was staying with Kodak until the end. But if Kodak wasn't running, neither was she.

Kodak struggled against the enforcer, but luckily surprise had gone a long way, he slashed at his eyes and nose, his grip still around his throat, tightening it, as the Wolf struggled for air. Kodak than let him go, the enforcer being heavily injured, fleeing into the forest. He turned to Lidiya. Why couldn't she just run? Probably because she doesn't trust you anymore. He shook his head violently, trying to stay focused. If she wasn't going to be run, than she might as well fight with him. He then turned to Cooper. Revenge surging through him. "Why can't you just let us go?" He growled, taking a step towards the alpha. "After betraying my pack to help yours." He growled again, taking another step. He might as well know the truth. Kodak had warned Lidiya, saving their pack after all. If he was going to die, than he might as well give up his secret. The alpha's eyes had a silent flame in them, as his lip curled in anger. "What do you mean 'to help mine'?" He said, matching Kodak's step. "You have done nothing but steal one if my females." His eyes casted towards Lidiya, and Kodak growled and took another step once again. And enforcer growling at him as he did so. "Who do you think told Lidiya my pack was attacking? I did. I didn't think it was right. My brother always attacking you. Had I not told Lidiya, your pack would be dead." He snarled, taking one final step. Missing the fact that he had just told the enemy Alpha that he was the Prince of Eastern Mountain. But all Kodak was thinking was that hopefully he could talk Cooper out of another fight. Fresh wounds already causing Kodak pain.

(I don't really know what to write here, it's a lot about Kodak at the moment)

Lidiya looked between the two of them, watching with wide eyes at this twisted exchange between them.

Kodak... facing off agaisnt Alpha Cooper. Not something she had ever thought she'd see - yet here they were.

Alpha Cooper completely ignored the implications that Kodak had said. Either that or he missed it. "I'm sure we would have survived anyway. We've been doing exactly that for a quite a while agianst your pack," he said smoothly. He stepped closer to Kodak, causing Lidiya to tense slightly. She didn't want him standing so close to Kodak - the last time they were that close, Kodak had almost lost his life.

She heard him out though. Because her old alpha had the right to be heard out by her, just to hear his reasoning.

"But do you know the real reason why I'm doing this for one wolf of our pack? Not just because she's ours, and that you stole it from us. Not even because your sick pack tried to attack us." He leaned even closer, and Lidiya almost missed what he said next.

What he said absolutely stunned her. She... couldn't really think, even if she wanted to think. Because... it didn't make sense, yet it did. Her brain just couldn't comprehend it - if it was even true. But it made sense.

"It's because she's my daughter, you idiot."

Kodak froze. His Golden eyes taking just above Cooper's left shoulder, towards the trees. He was her father? Guess she just left out that little detail. Probably his biggest enemy besides Njord at the moment. Cooper her father? He couldn't believe it, yet he could. They bore a striking resemblance to each other. And as his gaze shifted to Cooper's eyes, he could see now that they were the same as Lidiya 's. He took in a deep breath, then, even with the Grey Hill Alpha in his face, he turned towards Lidiya. His face confused, and slightly angry. "Lidiya. Why didn't you tell me?" He backed away from the alpha. Lidiya's father. This whole time he had been what, trying to take Lidiya from her family. And after what he had been through, that was just plain wrong. His ears pinned to the back of his head, he began to back away from both Cooper and Lidiya. "Just.. Just go with your father uh..." He was at a loss for words. Why hadn't she told him. He turned back to Cooper. "I have no business here with any of you." He said to Cooper, then bowed his head only slightly in respect. Then, without even looking at Lidiya, turned from them bith completely and began to walk off, a dejected look on his face, towards where they had been traveling before, hoping that the pack was somewhere out there.

"... Kodak!" His movement - absolutely dejected - caused Lidiya to snap out of her stupor, blood roaring in her ears as she processed it.

Alpha Cooper was her father. And she had never known who her sire was - now she did.

"Oh, no, you aren't running off with him again." Alpha Cooper's fangs were inches away from her - and not in a good way, either. If he ever had any sentimentality to what was apparently his own daughter - which she still couldn't comprehend - it wasn't there. At all.

"Let me go." Lidiya fixed her gaze at Alpha Cooper - her father - with only the backing of desperation. She wouldn't usually challenge him like this, but she was desperate. She couldn't let Kodak walk off like that - she'd never see him again if he did.

"I need to explain it to him." Lidiya' voice sounded small, even to herself. eak. Pitiful. Exactly how she didn't want it to sounds, but... here she was. Yet again at her own alpha's paws.

Lidiya didn't expect him to agree, but agree he did. With... some conditions, that made Lidiya wonder if he agreed at all or just wanted an excuse to kill him now that he had stopped fighting and walked away. "Alright. Go tell him. Tell him that if we ever see him again, he's dead to us." Lidiya didn't miss the use of the word "us" there, although it wasn't like she could do anything at the moment. "Tell him to go away and never see you again."

That instruction hurt the most.

Nonetheless, Lidiya nodded, like the dutiful daughter that she never was, not once in her entire life, which seemed to appease Alpha Cooper enough to let her go.

"... Kodak!" she cried again, dashing across the dirt to where he was plodding away. Her heart cracked slightly at the look on his face.

He did this. Alpha Cooper did this, not me.

"I... I didn't know. I didn't know I was his daughter, and that he was my sire. My mother never told me," and by that point words were streaming out and she couldn't stop them, "and he sent me here to say that you're never to approach me again, but I couldn't care less about what he told me to do because screw that to hell, Kodak you can't just leave me!"

What a pitiful animal she was now, constantly groveling at two different males' paws, not even caring that she was in heat.

"I don't even know if he was telling the truth that he is my sire. But..." and here she had to gasp for breath. "... Kodak, back when you were the alpha's prisoner, I chose you. I'm not going to change my mind just because he's now my sire or something like that. It doesn't change who he is." She leaned into Kodak, not even caring what it would look like to her ex-pack or what her scent would do to Kodak, but simply because if Kodak really was leaving her now, she wanted his scent one last time.

"Lidiya! Get back here!" Alpha Cooper's command rang out across the dirt. She looked backwards, still half-leaning into Kodak, refusing to believe this was the end.

"Kodak?" She looked fearfully at his eyes, afraid of what she'd see there. What she might hear from him that might tear her heart apart.

She was afraid.

Kodak didn't know what to think. Was this all a trick to begin with? And now knowing that she was his daughter all along? He was just so confused. Even as she leaned into him, he didn't return it. She was the one who rejected him, not the other way around. She left him. Now she was coming back, acting as though she never left. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. There was no doubt that he loved her, but could he trust her? He didn't really care, but she seemed to love him. I chose you. But you left. But as he heard the alpha Cooper yell, he knew it was time to make a decision. But it was painfully obvious. But how were they going to get away? He looked down into her eyes, and all he saw was genuine and pure fear. He wanted to comfort her, but she had set boundaries. He didn't want to lose her again. He let none of that shine in his golden gaze. "You know how I feel about you. But how do you feel about me?" He asked the question with sincerity. He didn't want to pull her from her family, as her pack had done to him. He knew they had only a couple seconds. But as her scent filled his nose, he knew she knew what he felt with her. He just needed to be sure. Did she love him? That was the question.

Lidiya was in quite an uncharacteristically tense position. Usually, if something happened, she could walk away from it. Or argue her way out of it. Or something similar.

There was no escaping this one.

Kodak's statement - how coldly and detached he said it - made Lidiya panic. Not a full-blown panic attack, but... she was dead scared.

She couldn't lose Kodak. Not now. She just couldn't.

And now Kodak wanted an admission. One... she wasn't sure whether she was ready to give.

"I-" she started, then looked downwards. She couldn't verbalize it.

"I... " she started, stopped, then continued on. She couldn't back out of what she was saying right now. "Kodak, I... I've never lied once to you about something. You know that," she said, heart cracking slightly. "You're probably the only one that I've ever said nothing but the truth to." And that was true, now that she looked at it. "I... I do feel the same way. But- but..." she didn't know how to verbalize this at all, did she? "- I... I just need some time to process this." She'd never done this before, not really. She'd been too independent, unwilling to even look, and somehow Kodak had still found her.

"Please, Kodak." The admission would have broken her if she wasn't so far gone already. Lidiya, practically begging? That would have never have been a thing.

Until now.

She could hear Alpha Cooper giving up calling her back, and trotting forward -presumably to wrench her away from Kodak and drag her away - but all she could do was look at Kodak, for what she felt was the last time.

Kodak's chance of hope between them plummeted at her first words. She couldn't even say it. It was really over. He had screwed up. Yet she wants to stay with him, but she can't even utter the words. He hung his head, for only a moment, the light leaving his eyes. She said she chose him, and yet rejected him again. He barely heard the words I do feel the same way, and closed his eyes. Please Kodak, she pleaded, yet she couldn't even say it. She didn't even have to mean it. He just wanted to hear the words. He heard Alpha Cooper approaching, the hugs of his angry breaths growing nearer. Kodak took in her scent one last time, before stepping off to the side, allowing Cooper to reach Lidiya if needed. She had made her decision. But then a commotion broke out behind them, causing both Kodak and Cooper to look back in confusion.
.
Enemy wolves. He smelt enemy wolves. Hoku's tail began to wag. Unlike Hiku, Hoku and Hokshiko had never been in combat, only tracking and scouting expeditions. But their goal was to find Kodak, but even then Hoku the expert tracker could smell Kodak, and he was close.
They rounded the next hill, When the saw three Grey Hill wolves, big ones at that. When they approached Hokoshiko was the one to talk. "We are looking for Kodak, a brown and white wolf, gold eyes. Have you seen hom?" The enemy looked towards each other before busting out laughing. The biggest one smiled and stepped to confront Hokoshiko. "And what are you little pups gonna do to him? And anyway, he is our prisiner." Then one of the younger wolves for the Grey Hill Pack stepped forward and spat in Hiku's face. That Grey Hill wolf would later regret doing this, as Hiku attacked him as soon as he did it, which caused all hell to break lose. Hoku went for the largest, and Hokshiko went for the remaining one. All wolves were now unleashed in combat, claws scratching and fur being ripped off. "Hoku!" Hiku yelled, finishing off the first enforcer, who had many small wounds and a large gash on his face, and went running I the woods, "find Kodak! And bring him to me! Kill anyone in your way!" Hiku then proceeded to the Wolf Hoku was fighting, and after the enemy scored one last blow to the smaller Hoku, Hoku went off to look for Kodak. Not knowing he was heading directly for the Grey Hill Alpha.

Lidiya heard the commotion, but didn't fully register it - too fully wrapped up in what literally was Kodak leaving - before she realized that Alpha Cooper, was, in fact, no longer approaching them. In fact, he was fully occupied with an unfamiliar wolf.

She also might have smelt this unfamiliar wolf's scent on the border on one of her daily walks around the border regions. But her mind only distantly registered it as the glorious window of opportunity opened.

Because it appeared that the enforcers from her pack had been attacked. Attacked by an unfamiliar group of wolves - at least to her.

Suddenly fully aware of what was going on, and not the wreck that she was a few moments ago, she couldn't help but feel a small flare of hope. Maybe, just maybe - they could make it out alive. Together. Away from this mess. Whoever these wolves were, they had given her the opportunity to escape -

- escape with Kodak from her father. That was something that she shoved to the back of her mind to digest later.

Alpha Cooper seemed to be distracted fighting a wolf that didn't exactly seem to be his same size, and Lidiya could tell they didn't have long.

These wolves, however they were, whatever they were doing, had unintentionally bought them some time - but only a bit.

"Kodak... we can run. Now. These wolves have bought us time." She looked up at Kodak, searching for answers and finding none.

"Should we?" Now she left the decision with him. She just... couldn't. Not after everything that had happened today.
