Also, I need some help -
So I have a character from wilou who is partially robotic canine. Her mind is wired in a robotic manner - she can analyze, think as a normal dog would, etc., but cannot feel emotion besides spurts of feeling when her programming malfunctions. She's somewhat of a villian in the story, but a recent mishap caused serious damage to her programming, and after another planned plot twist, she will be able to somwhat function as a normal dog - emotion (dulled as it may be) and all. (Of course, it's not fully realistic - dog emotion is different than human, but I'm presenting it as human-like emotion for the sake of an RP).
The problem I'm facing is that I'm not quite sure who she is without her program. In the flashes of feeling she currently recieves, all she can really understand is fear. The orginization that controls her is pretty corrupt, and there's quite a bit of rules my character enforces that involve in her killing quite a bit. When she can understand emotion, she thinks herself a coward for following a ruined government (even if not by her will). She most certainly considers herself a monster for the deaths she's inflicted. The catch is that even without functioning programming and orders, she still craves the apathy that it gives her, and wants to be ignorant of the wrong she is doing to avoid pain - she feels lost without rules and order and lack of emotion. So no, she's not just some character that will turn 'good' and fight back - if she does have some sort of shot at redemption, I'm unsure if she'll take it.
But it's difficult for me to figure out who she was before she became a cull (term for the robotic canines of the RP - she started as a full-blooded dog). She's highly intelligent, has a high work rate/work ethic, and is fiercly determined, but that's all I got. Does anyone have any suggestions about what her personality might have been like beforehand? Of course, this is something I could do myself, but input is always much appreciated.
