i wasn't even intending for it to be that long T^T i was so stressed in trying to get it out, but i wanted it to be good and to have as many of my ideas and context for my characters as possible and for the pacing to not be so fucky, so it ended up at 4k+. really wasn't my intention. i was thinking i'd only end up writing 1.2k. i had to throw away so many other ideas, too, to keep it shorter.
