Sky smiled even more at Alex's reply. Tonight was going to be amazing, Sky could feel it. Even if Alex had to go home, it was still going to be amazing, though it'd be even better if he could stay the night. "What about your parents?" Sky asked, a hint of concern in his voice. "How late can you stay, or can you stay the night?" Sky asked, knowing that Alex probably wouldn't have the answer. Hopefully, Alex's parents wouldn't ruin this moment and say no to staying late or staying the night. "Oh, we can either run to the store and get snacks or cook something up, it's up to you really." Skylar said happily as he sat up. He didn't let go of Alex's hands at all, and he kept his gaze and focus on Alex. With a smile on his face, he was ready for whatever. Sleeping would have been what he was going to do if Alex wasn't there, so it was good that he was. Sky knew that he'd end up falling asleep on Alex again, and a part of him felt bad about it, but he was just so tired.

Alex smiled back at Skylar and felt a flutter in his chest at the thought of tonight being special. Just him and Skylar. The question about his parents though made his heart sink a little. It was always tricky, navigating his family's expectations. He wanted nothing more than to stay with Skylar, to be fully present in this moment without the weight of his family's rules hanging over him. But the reality was, he couldn't just forget them, as much as he sometimes wished he could. Pausing for a moment he tried to push down the anxiety that crept up at the thought of his parents finding out. "I'm not sure yet." He admitted quietly, his voice laced with a hint of frustration. "it depends on how late it gets. I mean, my parents don't exactly like me staying out too late regardless of whether I give them a heads up or not." He said and bit at his lip. He was torn between wanting to stay and the fear of dealing with their disapproval. "Honestly, I'd love to stay the night." Alex continued, meeting Skylar's gaze with a small and hopeful smile. "Let me call them and ask." He said though he wasn't entirely hopeful. If it were any of his other friends they likely would say yes, but seeing as he was with someone they hadn't yet met he didn't see them letting him stay too late, let alone the night. When Skylar mentioned snacks or cooking, Alex smiled more than happy about the change of topic. "Hmm, cooking sounds nice." He said with a chuckle. "Maybe we could do both? We could run to the store, get some drinks and a few snacks, maybe some ingredients if we need them." He offered.

Sky listened to all of Alex's answers intently, keeping eye contact but also glancing down at his lips often. He felt an impending doom about the whole parent situation, or maybe Sky didn't want Alex to go at all, whether that be in the morning or later today. Sitting up, Sky looked for his phone but gave up after a couple of seconds. He didn't really need it, apart from when they gave cooking a try for the recipe, unless they just used Alex's. Being content, a soft smile rested on his face as he stood up. "You call your parents, Ima go let my mom know the plan." Sky said, making brief eye contact before leaving the room. His mom wasn't in the living room, so he made his way to her room. "Hey, we are just gonna go to the store, and we also might try and cook something so you don't have to make any supper for me tonight." Sky said, standing in Danielles doorway. "Yeah that's fine honey, just do whatever dishes you make." Dani replied. "I will." Sky replied, turning around to go back to his room, but then he realized he had forgotten something. "Oh, I doubt his parents will say yes but-" Sky was cut short by Danielle simply saying yes to whatever he was going to ask. With a chuckle, he turned around again, saying thank you as he walked back to his room.

Alex hadn't failed to notice the way in which Skylar's eyes seemed to gravitate towards his lips several times as he'd spoken. He bit back a smirk of amusement at the sight and then shifted a little as he watched Sky stand up. Hearing him he raised a brow before he gave a nod. "Alright." He said and let his eyes follow Sky as he moved out of the room. After a few moments, he looked away and moved to fish his phone from his pocket. There was a spark of anxiety as he unlocked his screen and put in his home phone number. His heart was racing at the idea of having to try and explain himself to his parents, something that seemed to be getting all the more difficult lately. His thumb hung over the call button before he pressed it and brought the phone to his ear. It rang only a couple of times before the call was answered. "Hello?" It was his mother's soft voice. Good, better than his father's. At least she could be reasoned with. "Hey, mom." He greeted and swallowed back his nerves. "So I'm at a friend's, and I was going to have dinner over here." He started, pausing a short moment to collect his next few words. "It might be a little late before I can head home so, I was wondering if instead I could, maybe, stay the night?" He asked softly.

Sky had pep in his step while walking back to his room, excited for how the rest of the day was going to unfold. Of course, he'd be a little disappointed if Alex couldn't stay. That was an understatement, he'd be really disappointed. With a smile on his face, he opened his door, and his expression slowly dropped when he saw that Alex was still on the phone. Nervousness immediately ran through his body, he'd figure out in a couple of seconds if Alex could stay or not. Quietly, Sky walked over to his bed and sat down beside Alex, resting his hand on Alex's thigh softly. His gaze rested on Alex, observing his facial expressions. Sky just had to keep reminding himself that even if Alex couldn't stay the night, he'd be able to stay for a bit longer. They'd still have time to make dinner, and snack on a few things before he would have to go, assuming his parents didn't freak.

Alex bit at his lower lip as he waited for his mother to respond. Her silence, though only lasting a few seconds, felt as though they dragged on for minutes. With each second that passed his heart quickened his rhythm and he found himself so tense and high strung that when Skylar returned to the room he paused and looked up at him a hint of surprise on his expression. His blue gaze followed the male's movements as he joined him on the bed, and he felt himself relax almost immediately upon feeling his hand on his thigh. A small smile tugged on his lips as he looked over at him. "I don't know, Alex." His mother stated, finally breaking the silence. Instantly, Alex looked away from Sky and returned his attention to his mother on the other end of the line. She fell silent before letting out a sigh. He could practically picture her shaking her head, something she often did when she was about to make a decision that she might later regret. "Okay, but I expect you to let me know where you are, and who you're with." She said, her voice firm and making it clear that it was demand and not a request. So thrilled at the idea that she had actually said yes he let his gaze turn to Skylar and he smiled once more, silently telling him the verdict his mother had given. "I'm with Skylar, you haven't met him yet, but he's cool." He said before proceeding to give the address he was at. Again his mother was silent for a few seconds. "Okay, if anything happens call me. Okay honey?" She said, her voice softer now. "Okay mom, love you." He said, and after hearing her return those last words he ended the call.

An immediate smile rose on Sky's face when he noticed Alex smile, silently letting him know it was a yes. He rubbed his hand on Alex's thigh excitedly, relieved that he'd get to spend more time with Alex. "Yay!" Sky exclaimed softly when Alex hung up the phone. He was also quick to hug Alex, letting any tension go away once he wrapped his arms around him. Slowly, he let his arms drop after a moment, letting them trail softly along Alex's body. "Store time." Sky said playfully, getting up and grabbing Alex's hand while doing so. He made his way out of his room, grabbing the keys off the kitchen island before leading Alex to the front door. He let go of his hand to put on his shoes, opening the door for him once he was done. Once Alex was outside, Sky was quick to follow, closing the door on his way out. He walked beside Alex before going on the driver's side and getting in, humming out of satisfaction.

Alex was quick to thank his mom, to promise her what he needed to, and then hung up the second that he could. Hearing Skylar's soft exclamation, he chuckled, but the smile was broad and clear on his lips. When Sky hung him Alex was quick to wrap his own arms around him and return his embrace. "Yep." He said, his tone enthusiastic. Honestly, he was shocked and thrilled at the idea that his parents, or more specifically his mother, were allowing him to stay the night at the house of a friend she'd never met. That certainly hadn't ever happened before, not that Alex was complaining. After letting Skylar go, Alex moved to follow him out of the house. He paused just long enough at the doorway to slip on his shoes before heading out and towards the truck. "Does your mom want anything?" He asked after he'd opened the passenger door and climbed into the seat, his blue gaze on Skylar as he did so.
