Song: Dust by Lund & Dre Kiken.
(With some slight adjustments to the lyrics to avoid as much repeating and make it more accurate to characters in certain places)
Characters: Garvin and Revan. Akira, Nico, and Aries are mentioned.
Context:
Yooo, it’s a Garvin villain arc song! This one is particularly about the process of Garvin giving up on, uh, different members of the team. Mostly Revan and Akira. Of course, Akira gets to be given up on first. But, uh, yeah. Garvin in a villain arc ends up burning a lot of bridges. If there’s a bridge, it’s getting burnt, basically. Honestly, Aries’s bridge is the last to get burnt. Even compared to Nico’s, surprisingly enough.
*~*~*~*
*We start, of course, going over Garvin burning the bridge with Akira. It starts off with him, of course, using drugs and whatnots to cope. And then it starts to affect literally everything else. Garvin starts missing meals, missing training, missing meetings… Ignoring Akira if they try to talk to him or call him or literally anything else. Unless it's to push their buttons and/or argue with them, pretty much.*
Garvin, referring to how he’s basically completely ignoring Akira; “Too many missed calls, had to block their number…”
Garvin, both kind of referring to Akira and Nico, feeling very bad and not good enough for literally anyone; “They just wanna be with someone that really loves ‘em…”
Garvin, trying to push the back the guilt and blame Akira for thinking anything at all could possibly be all smooth sailing; “But baby you can’t have a storm without no thunder–”
Garvin, that envy, pride, and anger I mentioned that causes fight with Ingall and/or Revan will eventually also hit Akira; “Don’t you fucking treat me like some trash in the gutter!”
Garvin, to Akira, he’s very much putting all the blame onto them because that’s just what Garvin does and he’s allergic to apologizing/taking blame ever because that’s just asking for more abuse oops; “Ever burn a bridge before? ‘Cause shit you’re pretty good! I built it all by hand, out of rope and wood, back when you believed in us and you said that we could be together forever–”
Garvin, continuing that last line but very sad and moreso under his breath to himself instead of to Akira; “And I said that we should…”
Garvin, to Akira, very much that villain arc showing up very quickly, basically giving up on them and the whole idea of protecting Earth, very much claiming he doesn’t give a shit about how terrible it makes him feel; “So fuck it, let it burn! ‘Cause what’s it really worth? Just dust into the earth! I like the way it hurts!”
Garvin, on his own, the other half of the villain arc showing up, where it’s literally just severe fucking depression, very much just referring to himself; “So fuck it, let it burn… ‘Cause what’s it really worth? Just dust into the earth… I like the way it hurts…”
Garvin, just repeating it to try and convince himself; “I like the way it hurts…”
*And now onto Revan and Garvin breaking up, haha. I’m so sorry.*
Garvin, in the middle of a fight with Revan, trying to calm things down; “I know I told you–”
Revan, not letting things be calmed down because he has to end things, you know, thinking it’ll help and all; “But how are we supposed to move past it when you always gotta be so drastic?”
Revan, he’s seriously trying to take every shot he can to keep things from calming down before he can break up with Garvin; “How am I supposed to know if you never tell me things?”
Garvin, trying to walk away to calm things down because he really doesn’t want to lose Revan; “Don’t got time no more but I swear I’ll come back to you.”
Revan, under his breath, very much regretful but determined to try whatever has any chance at working; “Don’t wanna break up to make up…”
Garvin, under his breath, very much feeling like Revan deserves better, also feeling very much out of his mind; “You act like you can do better– Shit, you prolly could… Swear I went Hollywood…”
Revan, to Garvin again, trying to just get the break up over with while also trying to help Garvin; “I think you’re giving up on up… I think you’re giving up…”
Garvin, mister ‘I’m not depressed’ does not like what Revan is saying at all, so of course he gotta try and stop it; “No, trust–”
Revan, interrupting him so he can just break up with him, putting the blame onto Garvin so that there’s more of a chance of him just storming off and allowing the break up; “You just wanna let it burn…”
Garvin, throwing the blame right back on Revan, could also be seen as Garvin, our resident major abandonment issue orphan boy, trying to guilt Revan into not breaking up with him; “You just wanna see me hurt.”
*And now to Garvin burning that bridge with Revan! Very fun. He’s very upset. He’s not even hiding in his own room for most of this though. He’s literally hiding in Aries’ old room. Like. This dude is hiding in Aries’ room, acting like his bestie is still there, and ranting.*
Garvin, referring to how he did actually try to rekindle the shitty relationship they had to no avail because Revan is no longer talking or responding to him; “Too many missed calls, had to block my number…”
Garvin, referring to how practically immediately after the break up, Revan started talking to Nico again; “He just wanna be with someone that really loves him…”
Garvin, to Revan and switching up the blame some more because he cannot deal with how shitty he feels, very much trying to get some sort of interaction with Revan, even if it’s a shitty one; “But baby you can’t have a storm without no thunder– Don’t you fucking treat me like some trash in the gutter!”
Garvin, to Revan, still trying to switch up the blame and get some sort of banter or arguing going between the two somehow; “Ever burn a bridge before? ‘Cause shit you’re pretty good! I built it all by hand, out of rope and wood– Back when you believed in us and you said that we could be together forever and I said that we should!”
Garvin, deciding to just start burning the bridge because he does not think he can fix, well, anything between the two of them, honestly, still very much trying to put the blame onto Revan; “So fuck it, let it burn! ‘Cause what’s it really worth? Just dust into the earth! I like the way it hurts!”
Garvin, trying to convince himself burning all the bridges is a good idea, very much letting himself fall into the villain arc completely, and very much throwing the blame onto literally anyone that isn’t him because he cannot deal with it; “So fuck it, let it burn! ‘Cause what’s it really worth?”
Garvin, moreso about himself and his worth, very much getting his ass beat by depression; “Just dust into the earth… I like the way it hurts…”
Garvin, literally still just trying to convince himself he’s completely fine with all the bridges being burnt; “I like the way it hurts…”
