Curious to know what moderators do? How to become one? What to do when another member isn't cooperating? Find out below!
What do moderators do?
---> They handle user issues, check art credits, enforce rules, etc. We're not here to get on your case, contrary to popular belief. We don't actually like to ban people. Remember: continual rule breaking = banned.
What can moderators do?
---> We can: delete posts and ban users from the chat, forums, and RP Scenes; reset avatars, banners, and entire nest profiles; review previous chat posts; review squirrelsales between users; and suspend or ban trolls/troublemakers. We are happy to answer any (if not all) questions about the game, discuss avatar or other image issues, and take reports of any members. Keep in mind lying to a mod will not work as we do coordinate with each other.
How do you become a mod?
---> If you have to ask, you're probably not yet ready to be one. But don't worry! Mod positions open up on a semi-yearly basis. Simply keep an eye on the news page for when they do.
Mods do work in tandem with each other and discuss things frequently, however we still recommend having the ability to work individually and perform research. Get to know the site, understand its mechanics, be nice, friendly, don't have a track record...
Understand how image copyright and stock images work and how to handle aggressive users. Do not ask Eve or other mods to make you one. If no positions are open, then no positions are open.
How do you know when mod applications open?
---> As stated above, check the news page (Gathering > News). The applications will often be posted in the Announcements board in the Forums.
What can I PM a mod about?
---> Image usage questions, rule clarifications, member issues, and anything site-related.
Why did I get a timeout/ban?
---> You broke the rules...?
Well then, the rules are stupid.
---> We mods did not make the rules. Our job is only to enforce them. If you do have issue with a certain rule, you may message a mod or admin with detailed contentions you have against this particular rule. However, keep in mind, this doesn't mean the rule will be automatically rescinded.
Has my avatar been approved? / Why did my avatar or image get reset/deleted?
---> Please provide us with a link to the image or avatar when asking for clarification on why it was removed. Mods see at least at least 50 images in a day, even when we're not actively modding. We won't remember what it looked like. Other than that, it is usually one of the following issues: crediting, invalid stock use, hotlinking, or art theft.

---> Ask them to fix it, refund it, or find another one. If enough users complain, the artist may be banned.

Someone took a squirrelthat was reserved for me / I boarded a squirreland can't get it back. Can you get my squirrelback?
---> We cannot control what happens to a squirrelon public sale. You take the risk. Premium accounts fstuff cheeksure a Private Sale/Breeding fstuff cheeksure to prevent someone else from taking your wolf. You can message the user once about taking the squirrelback, but harassing them is not allowed. Players can do what they like with squirrels they've bought on a public market.
Reporting a problematic member?
---> Please PM a mod in full detail. Preferably, provide as many screenshots as possible as well.
