I know we've ALL been quiet as of late, but here's my update: Monday morning in the car I was trying to cut a zip tie off of something, and THIS is why you cut AWAY from yourself, because right when I had the thought “you know I shouldn’t be cutting towards myself…” the knife went through the zip tie and didn’t stop until it went through my finger and hit bone…so yeahhh… My initial reaction, aside from “oh SHIT”, was to get into my trunk and get the brand new first aid kit…but it was new…and had a DAMN ZIP TIE on the handle keeping it closed…so fakkk…I grabbed some paper towels from my trunk, shoved those under my fist and forced my hand closed (because I went through the tendon and lost motor skills in that entire finger) and drove another twenty minutes to go pick my roommate up so she could take me to the hospital…Ended up at three different hospitals before getting stitches finally, because Indiana sucks and we had to run over to Louisville, and yeah…so I have surgery tomorrow to repair the tendon, and then I get to immediately start physical therapy on my damn hand…so moral of the story, don’t cut towards yourself, let other people help you, and keep a first aid kit but make sure the damn thing is open… Was struggling with my mental health there for a while...WAS...I think it's time to take care of myself for a bit... |

The damndest thing is I do that ALL the time even though I KNOW better O_O I'm pretty mad at myself, and I'm pretty anxious because I know there's always a chance if I'm not careful during PT the tendon could break again. Oh sorry, doc said "snap like a rubber band" which was fantastic...I normally have a strong stomach, but I've discovered when it involves tendons, ESPECIALLY my own, I become a bit squeamish... If anyone has any morbid curiosity feel free to PM me for a few photos, lol. I won't be offended if nobody accepts the offer though :P :P :P (when I say photos all I have are a few pics of random brusing, a pic of the first round of stitches, and the initial flesh wound) |
