Try to catch the lupine's attention with the figurine

You get your carved figurine out, hoping to catch the lupine's attention. At first, nothing seems to happen. Just when you were about to put the figurine away, the motion sends the lupine's ears perking up. Slowly, as if it was curious, the lupine tilts their head your way. The lupine gets up and slowly walks toward you, as if unsure what to do with you. Their slow pace is as if they've never seen humans before. Life in the secluded clearing couldn't have been easy for them. They sniff the figurine and look up at you, as if expecting something.

You can:

back away from the lupine

leave clearing

You cautiously try to please the lupine. After a couple of tries, the lupine licks your outstretched hand.
