What is the point in seeing plants?

You travel through the number of rooms that the inscription tells you to, and come to another large area. Unlike the somewhat constant movement in the eagle room, here you see only sleeping owls. You wonder if there's any way that they know of changing time this deep in the cave.

The plants also indicate what color birds will be in an area. So, if you're wanting to catch a red bird, you'd put out bait when there's red plants around for it to camouflage with. Also, if you have your own colored plant it's more effective at making any bird you catch that color if there's already other plants of that color around.

Eventually, a sort of cyan colored owl pushes its way through and grabs the rabbit, swallowing it. It comes closer to you and puffs out it's feathers. The others back down.
