i was standing in front of the fridge trying to figure out the movements.

me and my brother came up with him when we was moppin the house yesterday.

Since he lives in the world of subconscious/hallucinations, the other side of the door when you sleep, his world disintegrates when you wake up and he's unable to keep asleep.

I've been chipping away at this animation for the past 6 days and it's finally gotten to a point where I can ad Inbetweens and start coloring :')

It's for an animation meme contest I hope to finish, I have to come up with a better process for animating because it's not gonna work if each animation takes a week to get a rough.

But for real you've grown into your style so well over the course of two years and those animations are fantastic! You even FINISH them--what kind of dark sorcery do you employ? >:0

Really proud of the shading and the hair, though it's kinda of hard to see with the shading ¯_(ツ)_/¯

But in reality i think it's mostly the glowing ear, glowing ears in media always add such an extra level of warmth in the shot.

I had 1 (1 color, brown) multiply layer for the cell shading and a second multiply layer that had 2 colors, brown and orange(airbrushed) for the soft, warm glowing look.

Just slap orange on the skin areas and wowie, it's glowing.

Oh wow, I'll have to snatch those tricks for my next illustration then! :0 (153 layers would kill me and my computer though hahaha.)

And I didn't realize the bit with the ear, but you're absolutely right! I noticed the gentle fade of light to dark in the background, and the number of sun rays in the trees, which gave it a sort of ethereal feel.

I sat down and drew the sketch for Mothman's comm while watching The Fifth Element, then i scrapped that for the almost finished sketch i made like--
