I don't think that there are quite enough survivors with enough inventory space to be able to ransack every single military camp, house and store of all that they have, so I'd imagine that there would be at least some useful things there. Plus, there aren't as many people who are on a direct journey to somewhere as much as they are looking to survive, so most survivors wouldn't have use for a Geiger counter as they can just actively avoid radioactive areas.

Yeah, this be a good idea. Sadie has nothing on her, though, so, like, I'll leave the brainstorming to y'all-- ThisIsAPackName said: I'd assume that we'd need to decide what stuff the characters snatched from the safe haven on the way out before we start, right? Because, you know, they won't be able to get a lot of that stuff until way later.

That's true, that's true. There's bound to still be good shit in the loot spots. The only military still assumedly in active service/power would be in Icarus, and Icarus doesn't want anything to do with anybody now that they're the last safe haven. They're not gonna risk sending goodies out. Sirris said: If the military are still about and shit would there still be loot drops?

Thought so, it's worth an ask I guess! ^^ ASomeonePerson said: The only military still assumedly in active service/power would be in Icarus, and Icarus doesn't want anything to do with anybody now that they're the last safe haven. I did a bit of research on radioactive zones and I honestly think that the entire east coast, possibly even the west coast, is contaminated. There are just places called "exclusion zones" and those are the areas that you just can't go to unprotected without dying—how big those exclusion zones are on the map should be represented by the yellow circles.
Also, apparently, you can't pet puppies from Chernobyl 'cause they're radioactive. Absolute bullshit, I tell you. Edited at September 6, 2021 07:57 PM by ASomeonePerson

Realistically, the exclusion zones that surround each nuclear meltdown would probably take up an entire three states, but then that'd mean that our characters wouldn't be able to go fuckin' anywhere, so the areas of dangerous radiation levels on the map are smaller than they would have been in real life. I have sorted out in my beginning post what Aurora has. So that just leaves everyone else. Edited at September 6, 2021 08:03 PM by Glacialis

Also, I think that gas masks and other gear to deal with radiation the group should get later into the story instead of right at the beginning, as going by the map they don't have to deal with any radiation in San Francisco.
