Oh, also, another running nickname could be Jay. But I need to know what type of family Jake is from for that first. Do they have money? Because if so, the nickname Jay is in the running.

His family do have a bit of money yes, but Jake being Jake he doesn't like to use it and tends to use his own

Yeah poor Theo Jake is gonna be complaining to him and his other friends about Garvin mostly Theo lol

Should I tell you the reasoning behind each of the nicknames?

Sure ^^

Stalagmite; Jake's often seen as cold and mysterious like the caves these are found in, they grow from the floor up and it has the word lag in it so it could be seen as that Jake is lagging in height, and since he's seen as rude and mites are terrible creatures there's also that.

Mini Fridge; Jake is short and cold. Seems good enough. Plus he likes ice cream and food. And you keep this stuff in mini fridges, sometimes.

Jakey Cakes; Jake loves food, Garvin loves food, Garvin also loves to just do anything that ends like Jakey does, and it's also a play on Baby Cakes which is a nickname for short people.

Jay; Garvin does not come from a family with a lot of money, so it's a joke on it being the discount nickname. Since he can't afford the other two letters of Jake's name and the store he bought the nickname at had the letter y on sell. This comes with the added bonus of Garvin having a ton of jokes on that matter too.
