That's a good point. I guess it would be nice if the first few generic pelts were free (like black, white...ones that the rarity stays at 0).

You're welcome.
It would definitely be nice if you could somehow not select a base coat in the situations where you were planning on using a dye; but I don't see how that could happen without there being people who would say they would use a dye, and not use one so they could get a cheaper custom.

And the base coat is exclusive, and can't be applied customs

Yeah, I get that. But the custom wolf maker strips everything and starts from scratch. You might check though if the dye you plan on using is already one of the options for pelt colors when making the wolf. If so, you won't need the dye. ;-)

So, when I logged into the game this morning, I saw that my consecutive log in reward was extra CP. I also saw that I had 100 CP for my wolves. I assumed it was the amount I was supposed to get and gave it to one of my wolves.

However, I shortly after looked up and was very shocked to find that I had 30 CP to give to other player's wolves and 10 to give to new player's wolves. I saw it this morning, but didn't have the energy to post it until now. I don't know if I also got extra CP for my wolves, too, I'm sorry.

I took a picture and, since I haven't used the CP because I don't think I should have it, I could take more if needed. I, however, do not know how to pictures in the forums, sorry. I'll update this if I can figure that out.

Edit 2: I think I've figured out how to make the image work!

This is not a bug, this is just a recent change made by the admin that hasn't been posted in the news yet - I understand the confusion, but I assure you this was an intentional change that has been confirmed by the admin, Sixbears.

Moving to member help.
