Okay, I've been exploring like mad, trying to earn brains but nothing is working. The only way I've earned brains so far is by giving items to the witch. I cant seem to earn any brains from howling or helping those people. How do I complete these quests? Do I need more empathy so the people trust me to help them? I have a few excellent howlers but even they cant seem to complete the howling quest

I could be wrong here, since I'm not an explore freak, but I believe you can't pick up brains here like shamrocks or eggs in the other event. You can only win them when you complete tasks.

I'm aware of that. My question is how do I complete these quests? I either fail at howling, or the moss people dont trust me. Do I need more empathy for the Moss people (trolls?)? More excellent howlers on my team?

I believe the howling quest is a random chance for beating him, I’ve had average howlers beat him before.

For The Moss People you just need more empathy and it should help .

Plus you can also get 5 brains from Gwyn ap Nudd by giving him 5 hell hound hearts that you get for defeating the hell hounds

As long as you have 5+ hearts he should automatically take them and give you brains , if you only have 1-4 you have to fight him
