Plot
Viking society. What was it like? Well, now you get to find out. You’ll go about your life as a Viking. Warriors, apprentices, elders, anything. You can be whatever you want. The Vikings didn’t see the LGBTQ+ community as an evil thing like some people do today. So feel free to be whoever you want to be. There will be limits though. Not everyone can be a leader and there are other roles too. The gods of Norse mythology were a huge part of their lives. You’ll see their influence everywhere. The gods are always watching, so be careful. Who knows how they might affect your life.

Rules!
1.All of Sixbear's already made rules should obviously be followed. Click here to get a direct link to them, you should read them if you haven't yet before joining this RP.

2. There's not set amount of members allowed to join, so because of that there is no limit to how many characters you can make. However, I'd recommend only making a starter two before adding more, if any.

3. I tend to forget to unmark reservations but you'll only have 48 hours before you should be unmarked. You can still submit your character without a reservation and without one at all!

4. Please mark work in progresses as WIP. Only ask me to take a look at your sheet once you're sure you're done, thank you. Please also PM me once you're done so I can get to it faster!

5. LGBTQ+ are very welcome here. If you have a problem with that, I'll get a mod. Do what you'd like with your characters!

6. I am the host. This means whatever I say goes. As much as I love world building with the rest of you, you can't just randomly become a god, or anything like that. Please do go ahead and suggest some drama ideas though!

7. Please reserve your own spot, if making a reservation. I won't accept things like "My __ wants to join so can you save a spot for them?" Nope, they can reserve a spot themselves and if they haven't even joined the game yet, well they have to do that first.

8. Possible roles are a very long list. I suggest reading over all of them, and I tried to keep it short so you can just go through them quickly. Feel free to PM me with questions!

9. Have fun! Please include the word Stars somewhere in your other section so I know you've read the rules!

I will make this prettier later. Because there's so many roles to pick from, I'll be categorizing them so it looks better after there's been a full list. Currently there's no limit so go ahead and reserve up to 2 slots! You can only have one character be one role, though.

───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────

I know a lot of them sound very similar but some roles also overlap. If you decide to have more than one role, make sure it doesn't conflict with your main role and the second choice is well, secondary. Thank you! PM me any questions. There can be other roles as well if you think of them.

Kára Eira Friggsdóttir
Nickname(s)
Linn, Kari, Mora, Ása, Tova
Name Meaning
The wild, stormy one. Merciful. Frigg's daughter.
Name Pronunciation
Kah-rah, Ey-rah, Frigg-sdaw-teer
Role
Seeress
Gender
Female (She/They)
Sexuality
Fluid, figuring it out. Says she's straight.
Age
24
Appearance
Kára has a round face, soft and inviting. Her eyes are chocolate brown, but lighter, almost red, yet still brown. There’s nothing sinister about them, though. They’re welcoming, if anything. You could tell a lot about her just by looking into them. Some say the eyes are the window to the soul, and for her, that’s true. Her eyes have a warmth to them that makes people feel safe. Her lips are full, heart-shaped. The bottom one is a bit darker than the top, like she has a habit of biting it absentmindedly. Her ears are pretty average, but they’re just slightly pointed, like an elf’s, enough to notice if you’re looking for it.
Her hair is long, almost down to her waist. It’s fine, soft, the kind of hair you want to run your fingers through. It’s tricolored, starting deep brown, transitioning to a lighter brown in the middle, and ending in a dark blonde. Nobody knows why her hair’s like that, but it’s always been her natural color. She wears it braided a lot. The main braid is thick and long, running down the middle of her back. Two thinner braids tie into it from the sides of her head, and another two braids links up underneath those. The rest of her hair just hangs loose, soft waves framing her face.
Her skin is pale, almost porcelain, with just a few light freckles on her cheeks, barely noticeable unless you’re really looking. You’d never guess it, but there was a time when she was a shieldmaiden, often out in the sun, and those freckles are the only reminder of that life. Kára stands about 5'6", average height, but the way she carries herself makes her seem taller. She’s not as muscular as she was back then, but she’s still lean and fit. Her movements are graceful, even when she’s not trying. She walks with purpose, but there’s a fluidity to the way she moves, almost like a cat.
Her left arm is decorated with a tattoo of a forest, with a raven flying above the treeline. The raven’s a symbol of insight, something Kára carries with her. On the top of her right hand, she has a crescent moon with three curved dots radiating out from it. It’s a symbol of the moon. Across her collarbone, there are runes, on the right side meaning strong bond, and on the left side, the runes for Freyja, marking the goddess she respects deeply.
She dresses simply, but everything has a purpose. She wears a cape with white fur along the top, giving it a softness. Her pants are always black, practical and sturdy, and her cape is light blue, a bit of color to break the darkness of the rest of her outfit. She pairs that with woolen leggings and leather boots, perfect for any kind of weather. Her shirts are usually linen, comfortable and breathable, in shades of black or blue. Around her waist, she wears a leather belt with runes etched into it, representing luck, strength, prosperity, energy, courage, home protection, and love. She never goes without it, a constant reminder of what she holds dear.
Kára’s body has a few scars from her shieldmaiden days. They’re scattered across her torso, faded with time, and there’s one on the bottom of her left hand from a smaller weapon. She doesn’t make a big deal about them, but they’re a part of her, just like everything else. Her usual expression is happy, but if she’s caught off guard or lost in thought, her face goes neutral for a moment. When she sees you, though, that neutral expression melts away, and a warm smile spreads across her face.
She moves with a kind of effortless grace. Everything she does, even the smallest gesture, seems deliberate but natural, like it’s second nature to her. It’s not something she tries for; it just happens. She’s the type of person who stands out without having to do anything. It’s not because she seeks attention, it’s because she’s so comfortable in her own skin.
Personality
Kára is compassionate. She’s always there for you to vent to and will help with whatever you need, as long as it’s within her ability. If she can help, she will. She’s protective, not because she has children of her own, but because those she cares about are like family. She doesn’t stand for anyone hurting her loved ones. Kára is patient, able to sit and think for hours or even years if it takes to resolve things, whether that’s a puzzle or an emotional issue with someone. She can wait, knowing some things take time.
She’s honest, sometimes to the point of being blunt. If you ask for her opinion, you’re going to get the truth, no matter how difficult it might be to hear. Kára is motherly, even though she doesn’t have kids. She has a natural ability to care for others, often stepping into the role of a protector or mother figure for people. She’s found children during raids, kids without homes, and she’ll convince warriors not to hurt them, but instead to bring them back so she can care for them. That’s just the kind of person she is.
She’s playful too, sometimes matching Loki’s tricks with her own. Kára knows when to have fun, and she’ll do whatever it takes to make people laugh or lighten the mood. Independent, she doesn’t rely on others for much, and she’s brave. You can’t knock her down easily. She’s tolerant, even when people annoy her. She’ll stay polite and won’t lose her temper, at least not right away.
Kára is honorable. She has a moral code, and if something goes against that code, she won’t budge. She believes in doing what’s right, and if you’ve been mean or cruel, she won’t hesitate to stand up and call you out on it. She lives to protect others, and if you hurt anyone she cares about, she’ll make you regret it. Sometimes she’s a little too overprotective, especially when it comes to the people she loves, and she won’t back down.
She’s sarcastic when she’s tired or someone’s really pushing her buttons. It’s her way of handling frustration, using humor as a shield when she’s worn out. Kára can be impulsive too, jumping in front of danger without thinking, whether that’s protecting someone from a weapon or helping someone even when she’s already exhausted. It’s just who she is, always ready to step in and do whatever is needed, even if she’s drained.
Kára can be pessimistic. She’s seen too much darkness in the world to fully believe in the goodness of people. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t care, it’s just that she’s learned to guard herself, knowing how easily things can turn bad. She’s vengeful, and if you hurt her or anyone she loves, you’ll see a side of her that’s unforgiving. She won’t forget, and she won’t stop until she’s made things right. If you get on her bad side, Kára can be cold. She’ll cut you off completely, offering you no sympathy, especially if you’ve hurt her or those she cares about. She doesn’t show kindness to those who don’t deserve it, and once you’ve crossed her, it’s hard to come back from that.
Voice & Accent
Kára’s voice has a warm, steady quality to it, soft but strong, like being wrapped in a blanket by a fire. Her words flow naturally, easy to listen to, with just a hint of a Scandinavian accent that makes her sound trustworthy and grounded. There’s something calming about it, like you know she’s someone you can count on when things get tough.
When she’s angry, her voice sharpens, but it’s not loud. It’s controlled, like a blade you know could cut, even though she’s not raising her voice. The warmth in her tone fades, replaced with a cold edge that makes it clear she’s not someone you want to cross. The Viking accent becomes more noticeable, adding strength to her words.
In sadness, her voice softens, quieter, like the weight of everything she’s been through is heavy in her chest. There’s still warmth there, but it feels distant. When happy, her voice becomes lighter, with a little more energy, still steady but with a playful edge. She doesn’t need to be loud to be heard, and when she laughs, it’s soft but full of life, like the sun breaking through the clouds.
Strengths
Cold Resilience. Kára can handle the cold like it’s nothing. While others might be shivering and struggling in freezing temperatures, it’s like she thrives in it. The harsh northern winters? They don’t faze her at all. She moves through the cold, unfazed, and actually feels more at ease when the temperatures drop. It’s not just her body; mentally, she’s grounded and calm, no matter how brutal the weather gets. It’s almost like she draws strength from it, finding clarity when the world around her is icy and still.
Silent Movement. When Kára moves, she does so with complete silence. Whether she’s sneaking up on enemies or just walking through the village, she’s practically invisible. Her steps are so quiet, it’s like she’s floating. It’s a skill she’s honed over the years, from when she was a shieldmaiden, always sneaking into enemy camps or quietly scouting around. She knows exactly how to control her movements, and it’s not just about being quiet, it’s about being unnoticed, slipping through the world without leaving a trace.
Foresight. Kára just knows things before they happen. It’s not always obvious, but she has an uncanny ability to predict what’s coming. Sometimes it’s a gut feeling, like sensing when a storm is coming, or when someone’s about to betray her. It’s not mystical, but more like an instinct she’s built over time from paying attention to the world around her. People think she’s lucky, but really, she just knows how to read situations and people. It’s helped her out of some tight spots, and she trusts it more than anything.
Quick Reflexes. Kára reacts fast. Faster than most. Whether it’s catching something before it hits the ground or dodging an attack, her reflexes are lightning quick. It’s not just from practice in battle; it’s her mind always staying sharp, always thinking ahead. Her body’s just in sync with that. She’s the first one to react when something goes wrong, and it’s not just about speed. It’s about making the right move, always. She doesn’t just avoid danger, she knows exactly how to deal with it in the blink of an eye.
Deep Empathy. Kára can feel what others feel, even when they don’t say a word. She can tell when someone’s upset or when something’s off. It’s not just that she’s good at reading people, it’s that she genuinely connects with them. She feels their emotions deeply, whether they’re happy, sad, or scared. This makes her a natural listener, always there for someone who needs to talk. And when someone’s struggling, she knows how to help, even if they don’t ask. She doesn’t just offer advice; she offers comfort and understanding, like she’s been where they are.
Weaknesses
Reluctance to forgive. Kára holds grudges. If you’ve wronged her, it’s not easy for her to let go of that. She’s fiercely protective, and when someone betrays or hurts the people she cares about, it’s like a line is crossed. She’ll never forget, and forgiving feels like a betrayal to herself and those she’s trying to protect. While she might act like everything’s fine on the surface, the weight of that anger stays with her, and she struggles to forgive, even when she knows it might be for the best. It’s a constant internal battle between letting go and holding onto the hurt.
Difficulty letting go. Whether it’s people, situations, or even objects, Kára has a hard time letting go of things she’s attached to. She gets emotionally invested, and once she’s given a part of herself to something, it’s hard for her to move on. Even when something’s over, she can’t help but revisit it, replay it in her head, and wonder if there’s something more she could’ve done. It can keep her from moving forward, even if she knows that sometimes, the only way out is through. Her past always lingers, sometimes weighing her down when she needs to focus on the present.
Instinct Doubts. While Kára is normally guided by her gut, there are moments when even she doubts herself. There are times when her instincts tell her one thing, but her logical mind tries to talk her out of it. She might question if she’s seeing things clearly or if she’s just being paranoid. It’s like a constant push and pull between trusting what she feels and second-guessing her own judgment. This doubt can make her hesitant, especially in moments when quick decisions are needed. She’ll wonder if she’s misreading the situation and, in turn, may miss an opportunity to act fast.
Authority Clashes. Kára doesn’t easily bow to authority. She’s independent, and she’s spent too many years fighting for what she believes in to follow anyone’s orders without question. When someone tries to control her, especially if they don’t earn her respect, she pushes back. She’s not rebellious for the sake of it, but she’ll stand her ground, even if it means challenging those in charge. This can cause tension with leaders, especially if they feel threatened by her strength or her desire to have a say. She doesn’t like being told what to do, and if it comes down to it, she’d rather face the consequences than blindly follow commands she doesn’t agree with.

Kára started off as a well-known shieldmaiden, one of the fiercest fighters in her clan. She was known for her strength, skill, and bravery in battle. But over time, things started changing. She began having dreams, strange visions of the future, and signs in her everyday life that seemed to push her toward something else. As she got closer to the gods, she felt their influence pulling her in a new direction. After a lot of internal struggle, she decided to leave her warrior life behind and become a seeress. It’s been two years now, and she’s still getting used to this new role, but her connection to the gods and her newfound abilities are growing stronger with each passing day.

Appearance:

Tora stands 5'8" tall without her boots, her imposing presence matched by her undeniable beauty. Her milk chocolate brown hair cascades down to her waist in thick, glossy waves, but is typically tamed into intricate braids adorned with small rings and beads, each one clinking softly as she moves. The braids keep her hair out of her face while also serving as a testament to her status and personal history.

Her facial features are striking, with a strong yet feminine jawline, high cheekbones, and long, elegant lashes framing her light brown eyes. Each eye is encircled by a dark green ring around the iris, giving her gaze an intensity that commands attention. A jagged scar tells the tale of battles past—it begins near her right temple, slashes through her eye, carves through her lips, and winds around her neck to end at her left collarbone. This scar, while harsh, only amplifies her fierce beauty and adds to her aura of authority.

Her figure is muscular from years of rigorous combat and seafaring, yet retains a feminine, hourglass shape with a slightly larger-than-average chest, that has earned the gaze from fellow vikings that ended with a fight. Her tanned skin speaks of countless days spent under the sun and salt spray of the sea, bronzed and kissed by nature.

She wears finely crafted leather armor that clings to her form, its dark hues blending seamlessly with the heavy wolf fur coat draped across her shoulders—a symbol of her rank and a shield against the northern cold. Tora's armor is both functional and adorned with subtle, intricate designs that reflect her people’s artistry and her following of the Goddess Freya.

Strapped to her right thigh is an intricate dagger, its hilt etched with runes and inlaid with precious stones, a blend of deadly practicality and ceremonial significance. Across her back is a large battle axe, its double-headed blade gleaming with the sharpness of a weapon well-maintained and often used. The axe is her signature weapon, a fearsome tool of war that speaks to her strength and skill as a warrior.

On her face, intricate facial painting marks her as a newly ascended chieftain. Swirling designs in earthy tones and sharp accents highlight her scar and eyes, emphasizing her new role and invoking the gods' protection and guidance.

The 24 year old exudes an air of strength, wisdom, and determination—a warrior and leader born of the harsh northern winds and wild seas.

Personality:

As a chieftain at just 24 years old, Tora carries a heavy burden with equal parts determination and doubt. She is a leader shaped by fire and steel, but behind her commanding presence lies a woman deeply self-conscious about the scar that marks her face and her past. While she wears it as a badge of survival and strength in public, she often wonders if it alienates her people or makes them doubt her. This insecurity fuels Tora's drive to prove herself—not just as a warrior, but as a leader capable of guiding her clan through whatever storms may come.

She possesses an unshakable calmness in the wake of chaos, whether on the battlefield or in the midst of political strife. Her ability to keep a level head and find solutions under pressure is one of the reasons she has earned the respect of her people, even if she struggles to see it herself. Beneath that calm exterior, however, she carries a deep fear of failure. The weight of her role sometimes feels overwhelming, and at night she often finds herself silently asking the gods if she is truly the right person to lead.

Her faith in the Norse pantheon is steadfast, a cornerstone of her identity. She honors all the gods but holds Freya closest to her heart. Freya’s dual aspects of beauty and ferocity resonate with her deeply, giving her strength and solace when the trials of leadership become too great. She often prays to Freya in private, seeking guidance for both her spirit and her sword.

A skilled warrior, she wields her battle axe with deadly precision and an almost poetic grace. Years of training and countless battles have honed her into a formidable opponent, but she is not reckless. Her tactical mind and ability to read the flow of a fight often allow her to gain the upper hand before her enemies realize what’s happening. She is equally adept on horseback, where she feels most free. The bond she shares with her mounts is one of the few things that brings her unfiltered joy, and she often sings softly to them when no one else is around. Her voice, though rarely heard, carries the lilting beauty of someone who could have been a skald in another life.

Despite her status, she maintains an approachable demeanor with her people. She listens to their concerns, offering wisdom where she can and action where it is needed. However, she is not afraid to make difficult decisions, even when they weigh heavily on her conscience. Her compassion and strength strike a delicate balance, earning her both loyalty and admiration.

In her quiet moments, she reflects on her dual roles as a warrior and a leader, feeling the constant tension between proving herself through strength and guiding her people with wisdom. Though she often feels like she must shoulder the weight of her responsibilities alone, her unwavering commitment to her clan, her gods, and her own ideals makes her a chieftain truly worthy of her position—even if she doesn’t yet see it.

  • Emotional Walls: Her struggle to balance strength and vulnerability can make her hesitant to let others see her softer side, even those closest to her.

  • Private Singer: Though her singing is a source of joy, her reluctance to share this talent means she misses opportunities to connect with others on a deeper, more personal level.

  • Unyielding Standards: Tora holds herself to impossibly high standards, which can lead to burnout or moments of self-doubt when she perceives herself as falling short.

  • Reluctant to Delegate: Her desire to prove herself often makes her hesitant to trust others with important tasks, potentially hindering the efficiency of her leadership.
