Appearance:
With a dense coat of soft white fur, Zira is well suited to the cold temperatures of the north and winters, yet soft to the touch. The silver of her outer coat creates a dusting over her shoulders and a portion of her back, with touches over her snout and brow. Her size often sets her apart from her female counterparts, yet she is still smaller than some males, standing at roughly 2.5 ft at the shoulder and 130 pounds. Thick shoulders and strong hide quarters make climbing, swimming, and traversing difficult terrain a simple task. Her large paws feature soft patches of fur between her toes allowing her to navigate snow and ice without sinking or loss of traction. Her tail is a fluffy mass of fur that grows thinner at the tip, due to the damage caused by an injury when she was a pup when it froze to a riverbank. Her nose is black like coal, matching the eyeliner markings and lips. These dark markings help set her brilliant sapphire blue eyes apart from the white of her coat.
Personality:
| Gentle-Natured | Compassionate | Empathetic | Caring | Shy | Loyal | Respectful | Stubborn | Patient | Dependable |
Zira is often described as a loner, as when not in team activities she is normally found sitting by herself apart from the group. Having only joined the team a year prior Zira is still adjusting to the other dogs, struggling to feel comfortable around the group due to her previous home's treatment. That being said she doesn't cut herself off completely, but more seems to enjoy having time away by herself. She is quick to avoid any possible altercations or disagreements with the team, yet sometimes finds herself envious of how they can trust and depend on each other outside of necessity. Despite her timid nature, Zira wants nothing more than to simply be welcomed with gentle words and warm smiles.
.
She is known for stubbornly focused on tasks for days until she achieves success. Zira is often simply watching and observing others and their surroundings, able to think quickly she can be an asset in solving problems or complicated solutions. The only trouble is convincing her to step forward and speak up, however, she can be pushed to do so. Weary and constantly checking her surroundings she isn't often caught off guard. Zira isn't much of a fighter, choosing to talk things through over getting violent. Yet she will defend herself if totally necessary. Despite her minor trust issues, Zira is fiercely loyal to those she cares for. Even coming to the aid of others who have helped her, or been kind to her.
.
One thing to note about Zira is her reluctance to take action unless something has an impact on her or those important to her, she is often slow to act otherwise. Yet her resourcefulness has been a valued asset many times, from avoiding predators to missing dangerous snow drifts. To Zira, injuries serve as reminders of past mistakes that she refuses to make again, such as pointing out a bear trap only to have it almost take her paw.
For those who like to boast about their talents, her gaze turns icy in annoyance, as she believes it should be good enough to know you're talented, to Zira there should be no need to push your talent in the face of others. Finding those dogs especially ignorant of how life works. How can they be so childish to think that they're infallible? How can they not consider the safety of the ones around them? Zira often worries for those around dogs like that, concerned that they'll pay the price for the other's overconfidence.
.
Yet, Contrary to her avoidant nature, Zira is a very caring female with a soft spot for those younger than her. She may not understand every problem at the start, but she'll listen and try to comfort any dog that is struggling. Despite her preference to be alone, she knows all too well the need for companionship when struggling and will dutifully stay by their side. Listening intently and offering her silent comfort, reassuring that everything will work out, only voicing advice if the other wants it or is ready to hear what she has to say. Sometimes her distant personality is misunderstood, giving the idea that she dislikes others when that couldn't be further from the truth. Zira is simply afraid to get too close, afraid to trust too deeply only to be stabbed in the back.
Not one to start fights, she will only use her larger size to intimidate and step in if she sees tensions rise too high. As she isn't fond of fights, Zira would sooner stop one before even thinking of starting one. But she is well aware of her place as just a regular member of the team, and therefore little influence on the larger scale, but she will at least voice her concern and opinion. Even if ultimately she has to step down, backing away from a fight she cannot win.
