Anya

The young lady shook her head at him, feeling his own sorrow run through her. He sounded almost worried, and Anya couldn't help but feel bad for him. "It's alright to stay in the past, but the past doesn't change. As long as you're ready for the future when it comes, then I see no issue," Anya assured him softly, not bothering with her easy smile. "Just don't stay stuck in one place for too long, alright? That's when it starts getting tricky." She made him promise before going relatively quiet for the rest of the walk back towards cabin.

Anya's deep brown eyes seemed to light up the more and more she got to speak to him, more than happy that someone could even be bothered to talk to her- or even listen, for that matter. Well, Frigus didn't have much of a choice other than listen, but the fact that he actually seemed happy to talk back to her ecstatic. He had done it in the night as well, and the fact he was still happy to talk to her, even after the way she had spoken to him, just made Anya feel more grateful than she had ever been, even for the luxury she had in the castle. For the next few days, it seemed that she would be without those; or even a full house for that matter, but strangely, that didn't seem to bother her much. If anything, she was happy to be away from the palace. She smiled lightly when he mentioned that he wouldn't mind her being around, "Well, I'm glad for that, but I don't want to know what happens when you don't want the company anymore." She admitted with a slightly awkward chuckle before going oddly quiet as he told her about the wolven empire. She seemed to like everything she had been told about it, and it all seemed... Well, a whole lot more free than the human's kingdom. "That's... really sweet..." Anya murmured as he told her about them all working as a unit. "I never really realized how restricting life was over here- not until I spoke to you about it of course." Anya admitted with a small frown. "It seems freeing over there. Not quite so... planned." She stated as she looked up at him, "I'm sorry about your old ruler. He seemed alright." She stated with a gentle frown. "What's the new ruler light though? From your tone around him, he doesn't sound too great." Anya murmured plainly. She came up with a little smile when he recognized her struggle, "I think I should just cut it all off. It would make things easier." Anya shrugged.

Anya stuck her tongue out childishly when he admitted that he wasn't joking. "Eih.." She huffed with a wrinkled nose. Eating raw meat wasn't something she would ever want to do. And if she could help it, it was something she wouldn't ever do. She gave him a thankful smile when he noted that he would eat with her if she found that she couldn't do it. "Thank you... " She stated with a small, grateful smile. "But what would happen if I don't eat it?" Anya asked as she went back to the soft hide she had laid out in the remainder of the cabin. "Your camp fire?" She asked, gesturing towards the scorched ground a little bit away.

Frigus
"It's alright to stay in the past, but the past doesn't change. As long as you're ready for the future when it comes, then I see no issue," he listened to her words with furrowed brows of light misunderstanding, "Just don't stay stuck in one place for too long, alright? That's when it starts getting tricky." he shook his head slightly and took a moment to gather his thoughts,"i-its not right to seek a part of your past that's pointless to seek. it wastes time." he huffed and spoke slightly softer, "b-but thanks anyways..." he decided that was all he'd say on that subject, not wanting to dwell on it.
.
His gaze flickered to her in a slightly confused yet playful look, "Well, I'm glad for that, but I don't want to know what happens when you don't want the company anymore." "its very hard to accomplish that... especially at my lonely state. but id probably never tell someone that... id just get a bit irritable i think... i don't know. no ones ever pushed me to that edge yet." he shrugged. as he had told her about the wolven kingdom and his childhood occurrences of the procedures of the kingdom he smiled lightly, he really did miss the way things were then, "That's... really sweet..." he smiled softly with a nod at her words, she seemed to like the ways of the werewolves. "I never really realized how restricting life was over here- not until I spoke to you about it of course." with this he reflected her frown, a look of empathy in his gaze, "i suppose i havent made it any better then." but at her next statement he smiled, "It seems freeing over there. Not quite so... planned." "well, whats the point of plans if life was meant to break them? live life to the fullest, use every bit of energy for each day, feel alive with every second, and experience life as it is and as it comes. that's how were supposed to live. you humans seem to know little about how to live happily." he tilted his head a bit with a huff, "well, maybe the transformation wont be too bad, maybe you could look at it as a new way to live, a freer way." "What's the new ruler light though? From your tone around him, he doesn't sound too great." he frowned slightly, giving a shrug as he picked up a few sticks around the area and dry pine straw, "well, he's.... very controlling... demanding even... no one knows for sure but rumors have gone around that he had killed the king and his family with his under cover guards... legend has it that one of the children escaped. b-but the king denies it, he says that he tried to fight off the assassins and couldn't help, stating it was his dying wish to lead them." he shook his head with furrowed brows and a wrinkled nose of anger, "he lies too much, id believe anything over him. he treats everyone like flecks of dust... and Anya..." he frowned, his gaze softening to a deep worry, "my people... are dying. because of him, people were in chaos. they're starving and angry, he turns them against each other... the unity was broken... i just hope that if that escaped child is out there... i hope he can fight for the throne. and fix my kingdom."
.
he huffed a bit but pushed the thoughts aside, "I think I should just cut it all off. It would make things easier." her statement bringing a bit of a smile back as he walked up to her and tilted his head, eyes narrowed as he pulled her hair out from behind her ears and covered part of it to see how it would look short and he smiled with a light chuckle, "yknow... that'd be a good look... and it'd be harder for the guards to recognize you." his icy gaze flickered back up to her magnetic eyes for a moment, gazing at them before pulling his hands back to himself with a chuckle and a shrug as he turned away back towards the fire, a light shade of red fading onto his cheeks as he put the sticks up in a TP shape.
.
As they spoke about the raw meet he chuckled lightly as she thanked him, "oh, its fine really. after all..." he swallowed with a shrug as his smile faded with a bit of guilt, "i did do this to you anyways... it'd be unfair for you to suffer alone." "But what would happen if I don't eat it?" he frowned lightly at this as he banged two rocks together rather hard 3 times till he got an ember, blowing on it in the hand full of pine straw before sticking it in the tp, "well... you'll get very sick, you'll get tired and emotional, you'll start to feel hungrier than usual and eventually if you see or smell raw meat you could just go for it like a wild animal. but mainly you could become extremely malnutritioned, which will make you weak and could potentially be dangerous during the process." he frowned, "im sorry Anya. i really didn't mean for you to have to go through this." "Your camp fire?" he nodded as he followed her gaze and grabbed a tool from his pocket, it was sharpened deer hoof tied to a sturdy stick, like a make shift knife, he began gently pealing and cutting away the hide from the meat.

Anya

Anya tilted her head slightly towards him, letting a small smile take over her. "I just don't want to let it get to that point. I'd hate to be the first to push you to that point." Anya shrugged with a vary small smirk, "But knowing myself, I will be." She chuckled, lifting her hand to point to herself. She furrowed her brows slightly as he mentioned that he couldn't have made it any better for him, but she just shook her head, "If anything it gives me hope that the humans could change their ways. It's just tradition that holds us back." Anya jumped her shoulders slightly, giving him a gentle smile as he gave her his speech. "You're very right. Humans were never very good at... Life. I don't even think the children are happy most of the time." She said with furrowed brows, her eyes pointing at the ground. "Not when I've seen them at least. They look almost scared." Anya bit the inside of her lip, hard, not wanting to go on, so just shook her head. "Maybe the otherside will be better, like you say." She noted, looking back up at him with a smile. But that's when it really got to her, she might not be able to stay over here, as awful as it was in the humans kingdom, at the moment, from what Frigus had said, the Wolven empire wasn't in very good shape at the moment. "I- I'm sorry to hear that." Anya frowned slightly, "But I hope for the sake of your people, the heir is around." Anya murmured with a small smile, "Then perhaps things would go back to normal for you guys." She whispered under her breath, "You deserve it." She murmured with a gentle, but inward smile.

Anya raised a brow when he walked up to her, looking a little worried before relaxing with a small smile, "You think so?" She asked feeling herself flutter a little, not nervous or anything, just seemingly happy for what seemed like a complement, "I might just do it then! I don't think that I've ever had it short, not since I was little." Anya paused before smiling, "It will grow back if it doesn't look quite so good." She stated with a small chuckle, smirking a little as she saw his light blush spread across Frigus's face. Anya tilted her head slightly at him before grinning. "Frigus, are you aware that your cheeks have gone rosy...?" She teased him with a soft scoff as she watched him make a miniature tent looking building on the fire pit.

Anya furrowed her brows as she watched his friendly smile fade out and away. "Frigus, it's more than enough that you're even still here. So, I'm not alone." Anya said with a small smile. "I think it'd be unfair to make you to have to eat something like that when you're already here with me, I think I'd just need you to force the meat down my throat." She joked with a small smile. She waited patiently for his response on what would happen when the time came that she would have to eat it, and what would then happen if she didn't. She gave him a small frown, "I guess it'd be best just to have some then, it'd save a lot of struggle." She shrugged, shaking her head. Anya glanced down as he started cutting away the fat and Hide of the deer, " You really need to stop apologizing about it though. It's alright, I've gotten over the shock, and so have you, so all is well!" Anya promised quietly.

Frigus
"I just don't want to let it get to that point. I'd hate to be the first to push you to that point." He shook his head and glanced up at her with a smirk, "But knowing myself, I will be." with a small chuckle he gave her a doubtful look, "i.... don't think you'd make it that far to make me that angry." but then as she spoke of her kingdom he tilted his head slightly as he had finally separated the skin and fat chunks, pushing the hide aside for later preparation, "If anything it gives me hope that the humans could change their ways. It's just tradition that holds us back." he nodded and frowned a bit, "yes, and changing is hard to accomplish on your own." soon he was cutting into the meat, cutting it from the bone and ligaments into nice slabs of meet from the legs and hind quarters, "You're very right. Humans were never very good at... Life. I don't even think the children are happy most of the time.""Not when I've seen them at least. They look almost scared." he shook his head slightly as he huffed, "even the children huh? well, from the few i saw yesterday, i saw two little girls, alone, looking a bit hungry and dirty, alone in an alley way..." he sighed with a look of pity, "the poor things were just huddled in a corner all alone, tried giving them food but they seemed absolutely mortified... they got the food of course though, i wasn't going to leave till they ate, but they certainly weren't happy children." "Maybe the other side will be better, like you say." he smiled lightly, "id take you there i it was still safe but... its very dangerous there right now... were better off here in the forest." as he spoke of the current condition of the wolven kingdom he listened to her response, "I- I'm sorry to hear that." "But I hope for the sake of your people, the hair is around." "Then perhaps things would go back to normal for you guys." "You deserve it." he tilted his head as he listened, a gentle smile curved upon his lips as he looked up towards her, his gaze full of a grateful appreciation, "t-thank you Anya... " he smiled as he worked on cutting away meat, "i really mean it... no matter what the conversation is, you always try to turn it around to a better perspective. that's something i cant do. thank you for helping me to see the light in things."
.
as he had examined and looked at the way her hair was and how it would look short he smiled with a light chuckle, "You think so?" "yeah, i mean it. it would look nice, and probably easier to manage and easier to hide from the guards in."I might just do it then! I don't think that I've ever had it short, not since I was little." "It will grow back if it doesn't look quite so good." he smiled and nodded, "yeah, but im sure it'll look great, i can almost guarantee it." but as she had noticed the shade of pink that had spread across his cheeks he gulped and kept working on the deer, "Frigus, are you aware that your cheeks have gone rosy...?" he cleared his throat a bit and shrugged, "r-really? oh i never knew, its probably j-just because the fires a bit hot here f-for me." he said as he quickly came up with a lie to cover up his real reason for blushing.
.
"Frigus, it's more than enough that you're even still here. So, I'm not alone." he frowned and shook his head, "here or not, i still took away the life you knew." "I think it'd be unfair to make you to have to eat something like that when you're already here with me, I think I'd just need you to force the meat down my throat. he chuckled and glanced up at her, "nah, i wont need to force it, believe me... ive seen how it is with people, they usually are disgusted with it but once they see raw meat its like an uncontrolled instinct. they just... go for it. like wild animals." he shuddered a bit but shook the thoughts away, "I guess it'd be best just to have some then, it'd save a lot of struggle." he gave a light smile to her and tilted his head, "yeah... that's a good way to look at it." he said as he nodded, "you'll do fine, it wont be too bad, i promise. if i have to, ill go steal some seasonings from the market, if it would help." as she spoke once more he chuckled and shook his head a bit, " You really need to stop apologizing about it though. It's alright, I've gotten over the shock, and so have you, so all is well!" "whatever you say, but that doesn't mean i wont still feel guilty about it. it still happened." soon he had clean strips of meat all in a good pike on a stone he had brushed off. he got up and grabbed a few sticks, placing two sticks on each side vertically from the ground on either side of the fire, then taking another two and placing them horizontally, notched in the two sticks on the other side, then laying the strips of meet across the two sticks over the fire to cook before sitting back with a sigh as he watched the flames dance and flash.

Anya

Anya gave him a smile and shook her head, "You never know. I'm full of unwanted surprises." She chuckled, rubbing the back of her head with a slightly sheepish grin. It was true. As up-beat as she was, she had always found a way to get on people's nerves, saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, being in the wrong place, wearing the wrong thing, or simply being and inconvenience. She frowned inwardly and took a breath, "I'm just gonna hope you're as resilient as you say you are," She noted before pulling up a smile for him before having to look away from the scene of the doe being dismembered with a slightly disgusted huff. She looked over at Frigus for a short moment before having to look away again and back towards the ground, "I'm sure that it will happen someday, change, but it'll be a long while I'd think." She shrugged with furrowed brows. She took a small breath and held it while she looked into the distance, her dark eyed seeming a little blank. "Children are a soft spot." Anya noted with a little bit of a quiver in her voice, "Their parents will often go work on the fields, the markets but many of them can't afford a good education, so they're left alone." She let out a breath, "The kid's used to like to go out and play in the streets and square but now they often go out to steal goods from the markets just to keep themselves going." Anya leaned against the old wall as she fiddled with her hair. "Apart from the guards family's. My father and the king makes sure they live well." She murmured with a a slightly wrinkled nose. She knew that the king had more then enough money to make sure everyone lived a healthy life, but he was selfish. It honestly disgusted her, but she couldn't. especially now, she couldn't do very much about it. "Thank you for giving those girls something to eat." Anya sounded a little disconnected, "I'm sure that they would have appreciated it greatly." She took a short glance over at him and offered a small smile. For the next few minuets, Anya went strangely quiet. She hated talking of her kingdom like that, but it was only true, and it wasn't like she was going to lie about it and it wasn't really something she could put a positive twist on. She only brought her attention back to Frigus when she heard him speak up again, almost jumping slightly. "I don't mind, the forest is... It's nice." She noted absent mindedly, "And quiet. I'm perfectly happy to stay here until you say it's safe to leave." Anya purred with a very light smile. As he mentioned that he was grateful for her being able to turn things around, she felt herself start to feel lighter, like she was happy to do so. "I'm glad that I can do that for you." Anya smiled, "It's become a bit of a habit."

The dark eyed Anya gave him a bright smile, "Yes, that'd probably be helpful if the guards had a little more trouble recognizing me." She agreed, holding her smile strong, "And, like you say, more convenient." Anya shrugged."I'll do it when I can then, as soon as I get my hands on something sharp enough." She noted after he assured her that it'd look alright. Her smile died a little after that, but she felt her cheeks start to warm up at his friendly compliments, shortly followed by a chuckle as she saw him scramble to find an excuse for his reddening, "Alright then! You're just hot." She agreed with a small smirk, tucking her hair back behind her ear and out of the way.

Anya shuffled around a little so that she was laying on her back, not too far from Frigus, looking up, past the trees and into the sky, "Frigus," Anya started, "I think we've made it clear that the life I knew maybe wasn't the best life, not for anyone." She paused, turning her head slightly to look at him, "You need to stop saying that. It'll get better." She noted with a gentle smile. His response to her made her a little worried, but a relived, "I won't have to think about it then!" She said with a little smile, but was nervous about when the time would come, that's exactly how she would feel. "Have you done this before then? You said you'd seen it before?" Anya asked with a slightly tilted head. She laughed lightly at his next words, "No, please refrain from stealing anything." Anya noted with a small laugh. She gave him a sympathetic look, letting him talk before giving him a small smile, "And that's alright," She noted, letting her smile grow a little wider, "You're allowed to be feeling guilty." She noted with a smirk. After a little while, she sat up and took a glance at the fire, the warm smell of the venison filling her senses and making her want nothing more than something to eat, "When will it be ready?" Anya asked with an eager smile.

Frigus
"You never know. I'm full of unwanted surprises." he chuckled and shrugged, "well, clearly-" he motioned to her bite wound, "-so am i." "I'm just gonna hope you're as resilient as you say you are," he gave a little bit of a laugh, "well, i guess well find out sooner or later." He watched the meat cook, crouching down a couple of times as he looked under to see if the side was cooked properly yet, "I'm sure that it will happen someday, change, but it'll be a long while I'd think." he nodded at her words, "change is life, itll happen, but we never know if its for thw worse or better or when itll happen." as he glanced back towards her, his gaze softened at the light quiver in her voice, "Children are a soft spot." "Their parents will often go work on the fields, the markets but many of them can't afford a good education, so they're left alone." he frowned slightly as he watched how the subject seemed a bit tough for her, "The kid's used to like to go out and play in the streets and square but now they often go out to steal goods from the markets just to keep themselves going." He nodded and stayed quiet as he intently listened to her, not wanting to interrupt, knowing how hard it was to speak on a sad subject, "Apart from the guards family's. My father and the king makes sure they live well." he huffed at those words and spoke in a lightly sarcastic tone, "right." but then as she spoke once more his gaze flickered back towards her "Thank you for giving those girls something to eat." "I'm sure that they would have appreciated it greatly." he gave a light hopeful smile and tilted his head, "just doing what i was trained to. giving to those who need more than myself. sure i could have gotten something to eat myself, but i didnt need it as much as they did." he turned back towards the meat, flipping them all over, "they probably hadnt eaten anyting more than a crumb within at least 2 days. and they were growing children. im just doing my part." soon two little slivers of meat were done and he dusted off a stone and layed them flat on it to let them cool of enough to eat, "I don't mind, the forest is... It's nice." "And quiet. I'm perfectly happy to stay here until you say it's safe to leave." he gave a light chuckle and a shrug, "well, i dont think anyone will find us anytime soon. so i think were fine for a bit." As she had responded to his statement on his appreciation of her, he smiled, listening as he tilted his head, "I'm glad that I can do that for you." "It's become a bit of a habit." he gave a light chuckle, "i see. well, i really appreciate that. keeps me going really." hestated as he pulled off another meat slice to put on the stone.
.
"Yes, that'd probably be helpful if the guards had a little more trouble recognizing me." "And, like you say, more convenient."."I'll do it when I can then, as soon as I get my hands on something sharp enough." he nodded, "yeah, dont want them finding you, speaking of, your gonna need a new outfit." he chuckled, "and after our meal i could sharpen up some bone for you so you can cut it if you want." as he had scrambled for an excuse of reddening he was glad she took it, "Alright then! You're just hot." giving a shrug and a chuckle, "hey, if you were over here right now, youd understand." he added in to make it a bit more believable.
.
as she settled gazing up at the sky near him his gaze flickered towards her,"Frigus," his gaze focused as he noticed her turning her head to look at him, his icy gaze focused on her eyes as he listened contently, feeling the situation was a bit more serious if she had stated his name first, "I think we've made it clear that the life I knew maybe wasn't the best life, not for anyone." "You need to stop saying that. It'll get better." he gave a fond look as he listened and nodded lightly, "ok..." his gaze flickered over her beautiful hair and deep brown eyes, "i just... i want to keep you happy. and id hate for my mistake to have ruined everything you know. but i guess this is your new chance, after all. but ill help you through everything the best i can." he said with a soft smile, his gaze held there upon her eyes for a few moments until his gaze flickered back to the meat, two other slices done as he flipped it into the rock with the others. "I won't have to think about it then!" he chuckled and shook his head, "nope, itll just happen on its own time then." "Have you done this before then? You said you'd seen it before?" he shook his head, "no, but my old care taker used to invite those in need into our home, and one of them was a changing werewolf, changing from human to one of us." "No, please refrain from stealing anything." he gave a light chuckle and shrugged, "hey, gotta do what weve gotta do." as she responded to his guilt statement he laughed at her response, "And that's alright," "You're allowed to be feeling guilty." he nudged her gently with his elbow and smirked with narrowed eyes, "yes of course, your highness." He chuckled and took the last couple meat slices off and put them onto the cleaned stone, smiling at her eager look and question, "When will it be ready?" he chuckled, "these are done, some may be hot, just grab the ones your comfortble with eating for now."

Anya

Anya gave him a small, light, but evenly so friendly smile, subtly using her hand to cover the bite wound, "Oh, I know you're full of them!" She chuckled, rolling her eyes slightly at him, "You don't need to tell me." Anya scoffed sarcastically before leaving her smile gently on her cheeks as she watched him flip the meat hungerly. As the topic changed, she felt her smile slightly fading slightly, but she tried to keep it steady, "I don't think it's likely to get all that much worse, but it's possible." She shrugged, "And if that's the case, then it might as well just stay as it is," Anya murmured with a huff. Her smile soon completely disappeared, leaving in it's place a rather unhappy frown. "right." Anya heard him scoff, making her brows furrow as she thought she said something wrong. Maybe she had said something wrong, "You don't seem very convinced," Anya scowled at him, feeling a little distrusted, but not quite enough to say very much about it. Anya shook her head slightly, "Anyway... Most of them live on the palace grounds, with food served and their children are allowed to play in the gardens. The ones who don't live in the walls get extra pay..." Anya paused like she had forgotten to mention something, "Or that's what I'm told at least." She added. As the topic slowly got a little lighter, she let her scowl rest to a rather blank expression. "just doing what i was trained to. giving to those who need more than myself. sure i could have gotten something to eat myself, but i didnt need it as much as they did." She smiled softly at this, but it didn't seem to last all that long, "You're a good person, Frigus." Anya stated quietly, "Maybe too good," she huffed under her breath. Anya watched as he placed the slips of meat on the stones, looking more than eager for them to cool. Anya looked at the sky for a small moment before looking back to him with a slightly tilted head, "I'd be happy to stay away from civilization for a little while, so that's just perfect!" Anya yelped with a childish smile. Really, the fact that she wouldn't have to see anyone but Frigus for a few days seemed really quite nice. The top prize would be being alone, but Frigus seemed quite quiet unless he was spoken to, so she wouldn't mind him being around either. Anya started to give a gentle smile, "I'm simply delighted that I make you so happy." She noted with a bright but small smile.

The young lady gave Frigus a smile, looking down at her dress, "Really? But I like this one." She pouted sarcastically. "But I suppose a new one would be highly convenient. I'll see what I can do about. Maybe something less... Extravagant?" She asked with a chuckle. She looked back through the woods, just able to see a few roofs of the towns, "Yeah, it'd be nice if you could do that. Saves me having to sneak into the tows. I'll be able to put something together to make some sort of a dress at some poingt as well." Anya shrugged with a small smile, only growing when he continued with his excuses for his red cheeks, "Mhm, yeah?" She asked with a laugh, "Well, I'm actually a little cold, so why not?" Joked as she moved a little closer towards the warmth of the fire, watching the flames dance and roar in read and yellow and orange bursts.

Anya smiled softly, more than happy that he was at least trying to stop talking about the life she seemed to be loosing in his eyes. Though, for Anya, there didn't seem to be a whole lot that she was loosing. "You don't need to worry about keeping me happy. I can do that myself, all you need to make sure that happens is that I don't do something dumb." She smiled with a light laugh, "And of course, like you say, helping me get through things. That'd be a plus." She added, her smile growing in to a grin. They locked eyes for a moment, Anya tilting her head ever so slightly, "You know, your eyes are really quite stunning. Like the sky." Anya noted with a small smile before glancing away again. When he mentioned that his caretaker had done, she gave a light smile, "That was nice of her. " Anya nodded, "But the question is, how old were you? Was it not a little... Scary?" She asked with furrowed brows before she felt herself get nudged, quickly turning it into a smile. "yes of course, your highness."He said, making her chuckle a little. "Ha ha, very funny," She rolled her eyes lightly, "But please, never call me that again," She finished with a chuckle. When Frigus said she could help herself, she grinned and reached for one, then paused, looking a little confused about how she was meant to eat it. "Do you not have any cutlery?" She asked with a tilted head.

Frigus
.
"Oh, I know you're full of them!" "You don't need to tell me." he chuckled and nodded, "true. i know im guilty." he laughed. "I don't think it's likely to get all that much worse, but it's possible.""And if that's the case, then it might as well just stay as it is," as he grabbed a peice of cooked meat he listeneed as she spoke, giving a shrug as he stared at the fire, "yeah... but most of the time things tend to get worse before they get better." then he glanced up towards her and saw her smile had shifted away, "b-but, at the end of every dark forest is a sunny sea side." he said as a little twinge of sympathy showed in his eyes, "every bad thing comes to an end."
.
as he had said a sarcastic sounding 'right' he blinked a bit, she seemed almost offended. "You don't seem very convinced," he shrugged, "w-well no not really out of all honesty." but he listened carefully for what she had to say "Anyway... Most of them live on the palace grounds, with food served and their children are allowed to play in the gardens. The ones who don't live in the walls get extra pay..." "Or that's what I'm told at least." he slightly raised a brow and shrugged, "i dont know... from what ive seen... doesnt seem that way, and they could honestly telll you anything they want to."
.
as she spoke once more he took a bite of his strip of meat, "You're a good person, Frigus." "Maybe too good," he felt his cheeks flush a little as he swallowed and looked away with a shrug, "i-i dont know. just... not being selfish..." as she spoke about how she felt being in the forest for a while he chuckled and shrugged, "well, it is nice here." "I'm simply delighted that I make you so happy." he couldnt help but smile at this as his bright blue gaze flickeed towards her before shifting back towards the ground with a silent shrug, he didnt really know how to respond, it wasnt something he had heard before, but it made him feel happy, so he was good without a response, the joy in his smile seemed to be enough of one anyways.
.
"Really? But I like this one."he chuckled at her sarcastic tone"But I suppose a new one would be highly convenient. I'll see what I can do about. Maybe something less... Extravagant?" "yes, thats exactly what we need, something less extravogant, something that says, 'definitely not royalty.'" his gaze scanned her as he tilted his head, "maybe i could get you a shirt and some pants as well, incase you get tired of those things." "Yeah, it'd be nice if you could do that. Saves me having to sneak into the tows. I'll be able to put something together to make some sort of a dress at some poingt as well." he chuckled and nodded as he munched on his strip of meat.
.
as she responded to his scrambling for an excuse of reddening he chuckled and shook his head "Mhm, yeah?" "Well, I'm actually a little cold, so why not?" not dure if she actually believed it, but she didnt question him so he was happy with that. "You don't need to worry about keeping me happy. I can do that myself, all you need to make sure that happens is that I don't do something dumb." he let out a sarcastic laugh and nudged her gently with his elbow, "oh, thatll be hard." he chuckled and shook his head with a playful gleam in his bright icy blue gaze "And of course, like you say, helping me get through things. That'd be a plus." he chuckled and nodded, his gaze flickering up to hers as he smiled, holding her gaze for a bit, his bright blue eyes glowing as he examined her dark as the depths of space eyes "You know, your eyes are really quite stunning. Like the sky." he blushed a little and chuckled glancing away, "thanks... i-i like yours better though, theyre very deep, easy to get stuck staring into them... magnetic almost..." his gaze flicked up to hers before flickering back down in light embarasment, but blinking a couple times to take a breath and look back towards the fire.
.
as the large man spoke about his caretaker he listened to her response, nodding before her question came along, "But the question is, how old were you? Was it not a little... Scary?" he shrugged and thought a moment through narrowed eyes, "i-it was a little startling but... it wasnt anything i thought much about... i just remember one insident..." the flames from the fire danced against his emotionless gaze, "the man had a black out... my caretaker had to fight him to keep him down from hurting me... h-he ran at me but she got in the way and he was much larger than her but she managed to hold him down long enough to snap out of it.... but the issue was he had bitten her in a few places, they eventually healed but i hadnt seen so much blood in my life... well until i had my own black outs that is." he blinked and glanced down, "i was about 6 or 7 years old then." as he had called her, 'your highness' hechuckled at her reaction "Ha ha, very funny," "But please, never call me that again," he chuckled and shook his head, "alright, alright... i wont... maybe." as she reached for the food he watchedher with a chuckle at her question and shook his head with a laugh, "wow, you know, the food doesnt bite back-" he chuckled, "-your ok if you use your hands." he shook his head, "i dont have any, but its easy to hold and bite, if you want." he said as he now watched her with curiosity as he bit his own piece.

Anya

She chuckled and shook her head gently, letting resting her head in her hand lightly, "True. I know I’m guilty." Anya let her smile rest gently on her face as she watched him for a moment, still quite confused about how she was meant to eat the meat. It seemed like quite a simple task, but she had been raised around manners, and such a thing could have her scorned. She just guessed that she would have to adapt. "Yeah... But most of the time things tend to get worse before they get better." While Anya knew it was true, she couldn’t help but feel a little down hearted. If it got worse, how worse exactly would it get? How would anything – or one – keep on going? Would they even be able to? She didn’t actually talk, nor did she think it was needed, not right now.

Anya pouted softly, letting her head rest on her knees. She didn’t really want to argue with him, nor did she want to let him continue thinking such a thing, “You’ve never been inside the walls, have you? The gardens, the little cabins for the soldiers- or the banquet halls that are used for them? The soldiers have a banquet almost every night.” Anya’s smile came back slightly, “They seem happy enough when they’re in there. But I can’t say very much for the guys who live in the villages. I’ve been told they get more pay, but that could just be a lie, like you said.” Anya shrugged, her smile fading again slightly again before glancing away and looking quietly at the ground.

Anya glanced up at him again, her smile slowly returning as she saw his shy blush, "I-I don’t know. just... not being selfish..." Anya nodded quietly before speaking up again, “And humble.” She noted with a light chuckle, “I don’t know all that many people who would have been as nice to me as you have been, especially right now,” Anya shrugged, returning a small smile. She was being somewhat sarcastic when she had noted she has happy to make him happy, but she had still well and truly meant it, and she was glad that he could see that, and his actions somewhat showed it.

Anya gave a small nod, pursing her lips slightly, “Something boring then… Is that what we need?” She asked quietly with a small chuckle. Really, she liked experimenting with different colours and styles, but if she really had to give that up- well, she would do it, but she wouldn’t like it. Anya hated wearing dresses, they’re uncomfy, but she simply adored some of their designs. Still, a shirt and pants sounded a little more convenient, and more comfortable. “Huh?” She paused before nodding with a chuckle, “Yeah, yeah. If you could get me some of those that would be absolutely amazing!” Anya asked with a quick smile before going back to resting her head on her knees again, watching the golden crackle and dance around.

She gave him a small, sarcastic laugh, “Oh yeah, because I’m just always getting myself into trouble.” Anya rolled her eyes, giving him a small chuckle as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, “As long as you’re watching out for my very consistent mischief, then I’m sure all would be well.” She joked, feeling herself uplift a little. As the subject changed, she felt her smile grow and beam. She couldn’t normally handle complements very well, she just cringed at them, but she felt comfortable with Frigus and for some reason she didn’t find herself quivering, instead more flattered. Her face reddened slightly in a light blush before bringing her eyes from the flames to meet his, “Mesmerizing… Is that the word you’re looking for?” She asked with a chuckle, “Well, yes, I do get that from time to time.” Anya joked in attempt to hide her fuzz, breaking eye contact as she felt her face get hot. “I prefer yours though, really. They’re a gorgeous colour, majestic, honestly,” She noted with a slightly tilted head, “I don’t think you’d be Frigus without them.” Anya finished with a small chuckle before glancing back up at him.

Anya watched him with intent as he told her about his experience, feeling herself become nervous. It was comforting to know that he had seen similar things before, but she was almost nervous about what he had seen in the past. “I’d think that was traumatizing for you, especially being so young, to see your provider hurt…” Anya paused to look at him, but when Frigus looked back, it almost seemed like he looked straight through her, “… In attempt to protect you.” She finished with furrowed brows. “But at least she healed, right?” Anya asked with a tilted head. “I know for a fact that if I was in that position- and so young- I would have been scared to my wits end.” Anya voiced politely before the subject changed. She gave him a smile before eyeing the slab of meat wearily, “How am I meant to know if it bites back or not?” She asked with a wrinkled nose before picking it up, looking as though she was examining it. Eventually, she took a bite before smiling with a soft nod, “It’s good!” She exclaimed, taking another bite. She had eaten venison before, with toppings, sides and sauces, so it somewhat surprised her how good it was without all that, and it was clear from the look on her face.

Frigus
“You’ve never been inside the walls, have you? The gardens, the little cabins for the soldiers- or the banquet halls that are used for them? The soldiers have a banquet almost every night." his bright blue gaze lifted as he listened to her speak, imagining each detail, “They seem happy enough when they’re in there. But I can’t say very much for the guys who live in the villages. I’ve been told they get more pay, but that could just be a lie, like you said.” but as she spoke he watched the smile fade from her, witnessing her turn her own magnetically deep, dark gaze away, his head tilting slightly in a bit of empathy as he felt his own smile fade a bit, "well... i dont know. it sounds lovely, true or not...." he said in a weak attempt to help but it wasnt that great of an attemt really.
.
as he had stated he was only being not selfish after her compliment, he felt a bit uncomfortable, but rather flattered as well, “And humble.” he heard from her as a light blush faded onto his cheeks and he shrugged with a chuckle and a happy grin. “I don’t know all that many people who would have been as nice to me as you have been, especially right now,” With the compliments and just the conversation continuint on about his treatment, he only felt his face becoming redder and brighter, till it was almost unbearable and he just covered his face with a laugh, "ahhh too much sweetness." he chuckled as he looked away.
.
as She spoke about the dresses he listened carefully and nodded, "yes, anything that wont stand out, looks poor, and just says, theres no way i could be royalty." as he mentioned getting a pair of pants and shirt for her he smiled with a light chuckle at the way she seemed to light up, “Yeah, yeah. If you could get me some of those that would be absolutely amazing!” He smiled brightly with a chuckle, "alright, 2 pairs then. since you seem so excited about that."
.
as he had replied to her 'keeping her out of trouble' statement, he chuckled at the response to him, “Oh yeah, because I’m just always getting myself into trouble.” His gaze nrrowed and he smiled with a mischievious look, nudging her with his elbow, “As long as you’re watching out for my very consistent mischief, then I’m sure all would be well.” "yeah, so stay outta trouble missy."
As they menti9oned eachothers eyes he smiled softly, his icy blue gaze locked to hers as he tilted his head, “Mesmerizing… Is that the word you’re looking for?” "yeah.... thats exactly it." He huckled at her joke, shaking his head a bit, watching the pink fade onto her cheeks, his smile only growing as he began to reflect the same coloration at her words, “I prefer yours though, really. They’re a gorgeous colour, majestic, honestly,” “I don’t think you’d be Frigus without them.” as she spoke his eyes never left her, although his cheeks flushed a bright pink, his gaze fond and his smile soft before he broke eye contact for a moment, looking down with a huff of a chuckle.
.
as they spoke about his childhood he listened to her words, "“I’d think that was traumatizing for you, especially being so young, to see your provider hurt…” “… In attempt to protect you.” he shrugged and took a moment for breath, "it wasnt fun seeing that but... life happens. if anything it prepared me for the struggles and dangers of life ahead." “But at least she healed, right?” he nodded in response, his gaze flickering towards the ground as he thought “I know for a fact that if I was in that position- and so young- I would have been scared to my wits end.” he gave a light chuckle, "oh i was, nightmares every night about it when i was younger, but we all get through things like that" as they spoke of how to eat the jerky he laughed a bit at her response, “How am I meant to know if it bites back or not?” he watched her examine the food and wstched as her eyes eeme to light when she said it was good, giving a light chuckle and a grin, 'im glad you like it!"
