Katelyn had excepted for Gary to move away at the last moment to where the bullet was going to hit her. She would've been fine with that as she deserved it for the pain she put both Lucifer and Cleo through. So, when the gunshot echoed in the room, she closed her eyes and stood her ground in front of Cleo. She was expecting the bullet to hit her, but when she didn't feel the agonizing pain going through her body, she grew confused. She slowly opened her eyes to see what happened. At seeing that it hit Gary in the side, she seemed to stumble as she didn't expect him to get hit. She watched as he crumbled to the floor once the life left his body. She didn't seem to have an ounce of guilt in her eyes like she usually would had it been someone else. This is the first time that she doesn't feel guilt, which she doesn't like. Once Lucifer watched Gary crumble to the floor and didn't move, he rushed over to Cleo. He didn't care that Kate is going to be seeing the interaction between them. He snorted at her pickup line to show that this isn't the time to have something like that brought up. Before he got to her, his gaze flickered to Kate as she started to move away from Cleo. "I won't bother you guys again. I apologize for what I have done. I'm going to take my leave." Her gaze flickered to Cleo, seeing the thank you she sent with her eyes. She tilted her head slightly to tell her that she is welcome. "Take care of this man. He needs someone like you." She smiled faintly at them before she quickly disappeared from the room before either of them could say anything to her. Lucifer kind of wanted to go after Kate to thank her for her help, but that all disappeared when he heard Cleo move against the chains. He once again rushed to her, his hands gently settling onto her cheeks and lifting her head up. He gave her a faint smile, his gaze flickering over her face. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have let you go so easily." He mumbled. He truly meant that even if she might not believe a word he said. "I'm clearly dumb to think that letting you go is safer." Isn't that the truth? Had he not let her go, she wouldn't have gotten kidnapped nor would've she gotten all the injuries she did for it. He couldn't help but blame himself for what he has done to her. This is why he hates getting close to people. The decisions he makes always seem to hurt people no matter if it is for their own good or not. He let her face go before grabbing the keys from the table after freeing them. He unlocked the chains around her ankles before he did the ones around her wrists. He pulled her against his chest once she was free, his touch gentle. He didn't want to hurt her any more than she already is. As carefully and as slowly as he could, he lifted her body up into his arms so she didn't have to walk. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her temple, wanting nothing more to relieve the pain that she is in. He feels so bad for what he has done and what he has caused. Had he not let his emotions taken hold of him, she wouldn't be in this mess. He exited the building before gently setting her in the passenger seat. He quickly got into the driver's side and turned the engine on before turning towards her. "Hospital or home?" He asked, not caring that he said home. Home is their home no matter how much they only bought it because of being put down on Earth. "And before anything, stay by my side and don't leave me again. I don't want you to go anywhere again. This is even cheesy for me, but whatever. You are my light in my darkness and there is no way in hell that I'm going to let you out of my grasp anytime soon. Well, that is if you stay with me."

When Lucifer released her from the chains to pull her into his embrace, she leaned against him closing her eyes. She felt him press the kiss to her temple and gently lift her. She sucked in a breath when he set her in the seat partially not expecting to leave the comfort of him and that she had been almost asleep. She opened her eyes at his comments and raised an eyebrow not hiding the chuckle or smile that formed on her lips as she rested her head against the seat. "Home. A hospital would only ask too many probing questions that I don't really feel like answering and I don't want to talk to police officers." She turned her head to look at him still smiling as she listened to him say the cheesy line. "Ahhh, look at that. My cheesiness has rubbed off on you. There is no way I can leave now that this side has show itself." Her eyes searched his features, a battle was clearly raging in her head though it was more about forcing herself to stay awake over whether or not she would stay. She lifted a hand and placed it on his arm giving a small squeeze before her eyes closed once more. Her breathing even though it was shallow, soon deepened as sleep overtook her causing her hand to relax and fall from his arm to rest between them. Of course with what type of beings they are, there wouldn't be much of a change in the daily life even at their job as the being that wanted to go after Lucifer covered up the failed tracks of Gary, practically wiping him out of existence. That was why she didn't want to go to the hospital. The staff would do their duty and call the police due to suspected criminal activities, especially with the strange type of wounds that she would have. Thankfully the areas that had the weapons removed, were beginning to heal but that process was also part of the cause of her passing out. Her body was trying to combat the pain and heal itself against whatever drug had been used to stop the healing for a short while. Her features relaxed in her sleep but her eyes were fluttering showing she was in a dream or rather nightmare in her sleep. Of course there was the possibilty that she would have scars and the most prominent one would be the burn on her side along with the spots in her dark wings would turn a silver to show the damage done. At that moment though, all she was craving was to be in her own bed wrapped within the soft blankets just wanting to be away from the world.

*Some Time Later* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It had been a few months since the ordeal with Gary and Katelyn, and for Cleo she was currently wrapped up in a blanket while sitting on the couch watching a particularly sad RomCom movie. The soft material of the blanket was wrapped around her so that only her face was showing. She was sitting crosslegged underneath the blanket and looked to be attentive but slowly her mind was trying to drift off to regain some of the sleep she was losing each night. Most nights she didn't wake up covered in sweat from the nightmare but it seemed to be worse if she was stressed out about something. After the 'disappearance' of Gary, Niki had also put in her resignation at the accounting firm and spent most of her time healing while at home. Granted now that she was healed, it was taking a lot of will power to not drive herself crazy. Cleo had looked into doing a work from home position at least for the time being as well to still try to blend into society. Of course when she wasn't watching movies, cleaning, or trying to catch up on some sleep, Cleo was working on trying to get more information about who was behind the strange symbol and Gary attacking her. It was odd that almost as soon as he was no longer there was no record of him working at the accounting firm. Cleo had shifted and was now laying on the couch letting her mind wander over the various details she had learned as her eyes slowly began to close. The movie was still playing as she drifted off to sleep. Her mind quietly shutting her off from the outside world as she waited for Lucifer to return home. Lucious hadn't left when the pair returned that night. Instead he helped patch Cleo up and get her put into bed before waiting to be told what happened. Lucious was now sitting in the apartment that he was renting not far from their home, his eyes scanning his screen while watching the cameras that he and Lucifer had deemed appropriate to put in the house. With Cleo not working, Lucious was sent to protect both beings as the assignment had taken a turn no one was expecting. The male leaned back in his chair with a loud sigh as he rubbed his hands over his face, eyes tired from the screen. "I am just going to stop by and check in on her. Poor girl is still overworking herself." He closed the laptop before standing and grabbed his coat, keys, and phone before practically running down the stairs. Since he didn't live far from Cleo and Lucifer, he was there in no time and quietly let himself in the front door. The male did a quick look about the house for any signs that someone else would have entered but then moved over to the couch to sit by Cleo. He touched her shoulder gently, causing the young woman to jump and get herself tangled in the blankets before falling to the floor with a soft thud. Lucious sat on the bed laughing as Cleo sat up finally free of the fabric and looked around panicked until her eyes landed on Lucious. She whacked his knee with her hand before standing and settled next to him pulling the blanket onto her lap. Cleo muttered a few unsavory words about the male but rested her head on his shoulder before letting herself begin to drift off to sleep once more. Lucious wrapped an arm around her shoulder, full well knowing that if Lucifer walked in on the pair sitting as they were, he would be dead meat. He picked up the remote carefully from the little coffee table and changed the movie to a documentary about mummies that had multiple episodes. The male settled back into the couch with his female friend curled up asleep on his shoulder.

It's been a few months since the whole ordeal with Gary and Katelyn. Every once in a while when Lucifer would look out the window, he would see Katelyn staring at the house. He has asked her once before as to why she thought it was a good idea to be near the house after everything she has done. She would always say it is because she wants to make sure they are safe. He believes her as that is the only thing she has done since the whole ordeal occurred. He knows that she doesn't need to be reminded of what happened to Gary with what he has done. Even after asking Cleo to stay after pushing her away because he was afraid she would be hurt being close to him, he doesn't know if she wants that. It doesn't help that the pesky Angel Lucious is still hanging around to protect them considering Cleo isn't fully healed to do take the job back. Lucious also seems to be getting to be close with her, which is something that he doesn't really like. He feels like the man only does it because he knows it pisses him off to no end. Of course, he seems to never do anything because he doesn't want to upset Cleo. It's also the fact that if she likes Lucious, he can't exactly beat up the man. If she is happy, he supposes that is more than enough for him even if he would rather that she was his. He opened the door to the car, a hand brushing through his hair that desperately needs a trim as it is starting to hang into his eyes once more. He locked the car as he went to the mailbox and gathered the letters before heading towards the front door. As he flipped through the mail, he almost ran into the door because he wasn't really paying attention to his surroundings. His keys jingled as he unlocked the house and stepped into the house. He could hear the TV, knowing full well that Cleo is probably curled up on the couch with a blanket watching whatever interests her. He rounded the corner, his mouth open to greet the woman. Though, as soon as he saw Lucious on the couch with her snuggled up to him, his mouth clamped up. He should've known that he was here let alone having her be curled up against him. He shot a quick glare to the back of the man's head before going into the kitchen and setting the mail on the counter. At this point, he should move out and just have them live together. Hell, he would rather head back to Hell, but that isn't going to be happening anytime soon. He rustled around in the kitchen as he tries to decide what he is going to make for dinner. It's his turn to make something. Well, he more so told Cleo that he is going to make something since he threatened her that he will ban her from cooking in the kitchen if she doesn't let him cook tonight. She has been cooking since she has been home and he has been working. He just wanted to cook for once, hoping to talk to her about things tonight. Though, with the Angel here, he has a feeling that might not be happening. He finally pulled chicken from the freezer, putting it on a plate and setting it on the counter to defrost. He left the kitchen and went up the stairs to his room without saying a word to either of them. She knows how he feels towards her now after the whole ordeal, but ever since then, it seems that she has only shied away from him. He deserves it like he has deserved everything else in his life. Though, he would appreciate it if Lucious wasn't always in the house all the time. Perhaps then he could actually get some alone time with her and talk to her about it. Then again, perhaps she doesn't want anything to do with him since when they are alone, it's never brought up. He stripped his clothes off before pulling on a pair of black sweatpants, not bothering to put a shirt on. A fresh wound was on his right side that he got from running into a few creatures after them. He didn't tell Cleo about it and totally forgot he even has the wound. If he did, he would've put a shirt on to keep it from Cleo's prying eyes. He ran his hands through his hair a few times to make it messy, not liking how it always has to be styled when he has to go to work. He hates it as it isn't the image that he likes of himself. Regardless, he just suffers through it since it is one of the many bullet points he has to follow if he wants to go back home. Well, if both of them want to go home. He went back downstairs before flopping on the couch furthest away from them both. He paid no attention to them as he looked through the social media that he has on his phone that Cleo begged him to get. He would rather prefer to stay away from it, but if he wants to distract himself from them being all cuddly on the couch, this is the only way to do it. "Don't say a word, Lucious." He warned the Angel, knowing very well he will try to ask why he is sitting away from them as far as he could.

The sound of his voice brought Cleo back to the land of the awake and she sat up with a yawn as Lucious pulled away and stood. "I wasn't going to. Also try not to have too much fun without me for a few days. I am needed elsewhere for a little while." He dipped his head as if he was wearing a hat and moved towards the door. Being as Cleo was still somewhat asleep, she raided an eyebrow in confusion but then looked over at Lucifer and tilted her head. "Why are you so far away?" Her eyes roamed over his exposed torso for a moment before landing on the fresh wound on his side. Her eyes cleared of the fog from sleep as they narrowed. "What happened?" There was still a hint of sleep in her voice as she spoke. Lucious was quick to leave out the door, leaving the pair alone with eachother for the first time in months. Cleo was wearing an oversized t-shirt and shorts under the blanket that she exposed as she removed the blanket from her frame. The anger that seemed to flash through her eyes quickly changed to concern and she moved over to sit by him leaning close to inspect the wound. Cleo's fingers gently brushed against his skin as she inspected the wound sending sparks up her hand. Of course she still had feelings for Lucifer but was afraid to let him see the scarring that now covered her body in places. She didn't want to admit to herself that she was scared of being kidnapped and tortured again as the images of that night still haunted her dreams. Of course she hadn't told either Lucifer or Lucious about how bad the nightmare was or how frequently it would keep her awake. A soft sigh left her lips as her gaze was lifted from his wound to look over his features. "Want me to patch you up? It is the least I can do since you barred me from cooking tonight." A touch of the teasing Cleo filled her features as she let a smile form on her lips though her hand didn't leave his side. She so very much wanted to let him know she still cared for him but the words always seemed to stop in her throat. Maybe the fact that Lucious was leaving would give her the courage to speak with Lucifer. She had no feelings for Lucious other than that he was a friend. She would have snuggled up to Lucifer had he first sat closer to them before she was fully aware of the world when Lucious first left. She felt secure with either male even if she preferred it to be Lucifer as Lucious would always tease her about it when Lucifer wasn't home. "I missed you today." Her gaze had moved to look down at her hand as her words softened. Cleo slowly began to pull away and stood up wrapping her arms around herself as she began to head to the kitchen. Once she was there, she removed a glass from the cupboard and set it on the counter before kneeling down to look under the sink for the other first aide kit she had stashed there. Her hair was also put up in a messy bun that bounced with her movements.

If Lucifer knew that she still had feelings for him, he probably would've said something sooner. Then again, she always seems so cozy toward Lucious that he never brought it up in case she did care for him. As he said, even if she does care for that pesky Angel, he would be happy for her as that is all he wants for her. Then there is the fact that she has seemed a bit distant too, so whenever he had the courage to say something to her, something either interrupted them or the timing didn't seem right. Maybe it is for the better that he doesn't tell her about the feelings that he has towards her, even though he so badly wants her to be his and no one else's. His brow raised when Lucious stood and announced that he is going to be gone for a few days. He wonders where the man is going and why he told them not to have fun without him. Even though he has been on Earth for quite a while now, mortal terminology was still something he didn't understand sometimes. Regardless, he doesn't care where the Angel is going. The man could die for all her cares, especially if that means he gets to keep Cleo all to himself without Lucious ever being around again. He likes the sound of that, but then again, there's the thought that she likes him. By saying that, that idea is being thrown out the window as soon as it entered his thoughts. "Have fun. Don't get killed." Then he thought about something and flickered his gaze towards the Angel. "Don't let the door bite you on the way out!" He called out, a small laugh leaving his lips. He's pretty sure he used that saying correctly and if not, oh well. He had fun saying it. His gaze flickered away from the Angel leaving to Cleo when she spoke to him. He couldn't just say, 'well, it's because you were snuggled up next to the pesky Angel and I didn't like how cozy you guys were'. By saying that, he would have to tell her the feelings that he is harboring towards her. He didn't want her to tell him that he doesn't feel the same way. He isn't sure he would like those words leaving her lips from the first person that he actually cares about after centuries of not feeling an emotion towards another woman. Besides, he didn't want to be laughed in the face because a woman actually rejected him for the first time instead of him rejecting them. Before he could answer, she asked him what happened. His head tilted to the side, his brows furrowing in confusion as to what she is asking. He has completely forgotten about the wound, which is why he is so confused by this question. He could see the anger flash in her eyes, making him even more confused as to what is going on at this moment in time. Has he done something wrong without realizing it and she is now taking it out on him? He watched her closely as she took a seat next to him, her fingers brushing gently against the wound on his side. He flinched slightly, forgetting about it until she touched it. That must be what she is asking about as well as being angry at him by not telling her about it. "Ooh, that." He finally said, pushing away the shiver that wanted to racket his body by her touch. "Just a run-in with a few creatures that were after us about a day or so ago. Nothing to worry about." He said, dismissing the topic as if they both already agreed to not talk about it. He laughed slightly when she mentioned him banning her from the kitchen tonight. If he hadn't down that, he knows that when he came through that door just a bit ago, she would've had dinner done. Don't get him wrong, he likes that she cooks and she greets him when he gets home, but tonight is for her. She needs something after everything she has gone through. He has a feeling that she isn't right, even though she says she is fine. He has learned from work and coworkers that when a woman says she is fine, they never truly are. He wonders if she would open up to him if he said he is there for her no matter what and that he wants to know what he can do to make her feel better. Before he could say anything about the wound, the words got caught in his throat at her comment. He didn't think that she would miss him considering she had company today. Hell, she never tells him she misses him. He wonders if she is sick or something. He wanted to ask her that, but he has a feeling that she would only be angry with him and he didn't want to dampen the mood when he could tell her how he feels. After she left, he stood up and walked after her seconds later. He didn't want her running off now. Not like she would anyway. "Never thought the woman I love would actually miss me." He mumbled as he entered the kitchen, not sure if she heard that. If not, that is fine. If so, he would curse himself for speaking too loudly but it would give him, them, an opening to talk about how they feel towards each other. He pulled a stool out at the counter and sat as he watched her dig the first aid kit. He is perfectly fine, but he knows by this point that she won't listen to him if he said that. He just lets her have her way with him whenever something like this happens. He slipped his phone into his pocket, disconnecting him from social media, not like he was really interested in it anyways. He leaned against the counter, his hands clasped together as his forearms rested against the surface. Perhaps this is a good time to tell her. "I missed you too." He turned away from her, his hand scratching the back of his neck, something he does when he's nervous. "Cleo..." He trailed off as his gaze flickered away. I..." He didn't know what to say even though he knew what he should say to her.

If though he mumbled the first shocking sentence. Cleo had been leaning under the counter and her head jersey up hitting the bottom of the counter. A hand instantly flew to the back of her head with a few muttered unsavory words. She pulled her hand away checking to see if she had cut herself but jumped again at his mentioning that he missed her as well. Cleo sat back onto the floor holding her hand to the back of her head turning to look at him with a glare as a part of her thought he was just trying to get her to react. When her eyes landed on Lucifer the anger instantly disappeared as she stood slowly and moved around the counter to stand by him. She reached a hand towards him and gently laid it on his arm. Even though her head was now ringing from being hit against the bottom of the counter in quick succession. "Yes Lucifer?" Concern filled her words she she stepped closer. Yes she lied and said she was fine most days but since she still had her own room, it was easy to hide the lingering problem. Cleo lifted her hand from his arm and ran her fingers through his hair not realizing how much she had missed being this close to him. Her heart was racing in her chest as fear in what he wanted to day tried to take over. Thoughts raced in her head as her emotions danced within her eyes. Normally she could have kept her emotions in check but something about the man in front of her caused her to lose that ability. "Is everything alright Lucifer? What do you need me to do?" The questions blurted to stop the silence that was wanting to fill the air around the two. She bit her lower lip nervously and looked away as she pulled her hand away from his hair and wrapped her arms around her own frame furrowing her brows. Edited at July 22, 2021 07:05 PM by FrostyK

Lucifer watched as she banged her head under the counter, causing him to wince at that. He didn't mean to cause her to jump so suddenly at the words he told her. Perhaps he shouldn't say anything from now on whenever she is bending underneath a counter. At least it means she won't have a bruise or a bump to her head when he doesn't do that anymore. He reached out and gently touched the back of her head, his eyes being apologetic. He didn't mean to hurt her and he usually doesn't mean to either. "I'm sorry, darling. I didn't mean to scare you like that." He said before he pulled his hand away from her head. "Make sure you ice it in a bit to prevent a bump from forming." He suggested as he gave her a small smile. He knew that deep down, even though she says that she is fine, he knows that is so far from the truth. As much as he wants to barge into her room and help comfort her after everything she went through, he just couldn't bring himself to do so. What happened to her was his fault and his fault alone. If he hadn't dismissed how they were actually feeling towards each other, she wouldn't have been kidnapped and tortured. At least Kat came to her senses and helped him lead him to her. Had she died because of him, he would have never ever forgiven himself for what he did. So, with what he put her through, he knew he had to go away for a little bit. He did exactly that to see if being away would help her feel better. In reality, he feels like that only makes things worse. He knew she needed him but she didn't voice that she wanted him next to her through it. That is why he never pushed his way into her room to try and help her feel better because he feels like she would only push him away. His eyes closed when her fingers started to run through his hair. He missed the feeling of that. He wished that he never went away. He wished that he just stayed and helped her through it rather than run away from his problems. As soon as her touch faded, his eyes opened and landed right on her. She was standing away with her arms wrapped around her, something he noticed she does when she doesn't know what he will be saying next. He wanted to reach out and hold her against him, to tell her he is sorry for everything. And guess what? That is exactly what he is going to do. He reached out and pulled Cleo against his chest, his arms wrapping around her to prevent her from trying to escape his grasp. "I'm sorry for everything that happened to you. It is my fault that what you went through was my fault. I shouldn't have argued with you and I should've told you that I return the exact feelings that you have for me." He kissed the top of her head, not yet wanting to see her face. "I'm sorry for what I have done to you and I only hope I can make things better." He leaned back slightly before putting his fingertips under her chin and tilting her head up. A small smile was on his lips as he looked down at her. He leaned down and pressed a soft and short kiss to her lips. "You want to know something?" He asked as he pressed a kiss to both of her cheeks. "And you definitely will want to hear it." He said as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. It seemed like he wasn't going to tell her what he was thinking when he pressed a kiss to the corner of her mouth. But of course, he was only prolonging it, seeing if she would pull away from his touch. "I love you, Cleo."

A small squeak left Cleo as Lucifer pulled her into his embrace. Her arms moved from around herself to wrap around his torso as her head moved to rest on his shoulder. How she had missed being this close and oddly enough the safety that his arms held. Cleo lifted her head from his shoulder and furrowed her brows at his words. "Why are you sorry? You didn't do this to me. You saved me. Honestly it is both our faults because our emotions hid the danger of that was looming just beneath the surface." The kiss to the top of her head only seemed to add more confusion to her features even as he lifted her gaze to meet his. His next words caused her to roll her eyes as she shook her head trying not to chuckle. An almost frustrated huff left her lips as the kisses continued but she paused pulling away just slightly when he said the next statement. "I love you, Cleo." For a moment all Cleo could do was stare at the man before her with wide eyes. After a couple painstakingly slow blinks, a devilishly playful smile appeared on her lips. It was a smile that she hadn't done in a while and it felt normal as she leaned in and rested her head on his shoulder once more. "I see that all of those horribly cheesy pick up lines actually did their job. Honesly I was about to give up on that whole act and I was running out of new ones to say." She closed her eyes as a soft chuckle left her before she placed a kiss just under his jaw. "I love you too Lucifer...know that I don't blame you for what happened. I am just thankful that you came when you did. Though I do miss those pajamas. They were so soft." It seemed as though hearing Lucifer say those words and be holding her close, was bringing back a bit of the old Cleo that seemed to have decided to hide away taking a nap. After a few moments, a small sigh left Cleo though she didn't move from where they were. "I am surprised I haven't heard anything from your sister since the incident. From the little bits that I have heard, there was a bit of a commotion when Lucious said that I had called." As much as she wanted to stay wrapped in his arms, She slowly pulled away and put her hands on his shoulders. Her eyes darkened as she searched his features before she spoke again. "I would really like to know if you want to share a bed with me? We don't have to but...my nightmare is worse the more I sleep alone."

Lucifer sighed as he shook his head at her words. As much as he wants to believe her words, he just couldn't. He hates what he has done to her and it will take quite some time before he can fully forgive himself for what he has done to her. Sure, he saved her like she says, only with Kate's help, but that didn't make him feel any better, especially with how wounded and broken she was afterward. Even after he is no longer blaming himself, he will know that deep down, it still was his fault. Sure, she had a part in it, but it was just a silver her fault compared to the whole thing being his fault. You see, when he found out that he cared for Cleo more than just a friend, he hated it. He didn't want the feelings that he had since he was fine for centuries without loving someone. Sure, he had Kate at one point, but she was more of a fling to him than anything, and he didn't have feelings for her in the slightest. Sure, she had a part in kidnapping Cleo, but she actually ended up helping him in the end. He denied his feelings because it was only a weakness for him and besides, the Devil shouldn't love anyone in the first place. That is how it was for centuries until Cleo ended up coming into his life and changing all of that when they got banned down to Earth. "I don't care if it was both our faults, more so mine than anything." He muttered as he rubbed his hands up and down her arms. "I know you aren't dealing the greatest after everything that happened, and I blame myself for that. This is exactly why I shouldn't have gotten close with someone because the enemy only would use you against me since they know my weakness." He let out a strained chuckle, hating that he has such a weakness, but it is the best damn weakness he will ever have. "But I'm not going to be letting you go this time and keeping you with me." He was afraid that after he told Cleo that he loved her, he would either reject him because that would be his luck or she would feel the same thing. At seeing the devilishly playful smile appear on her lips, he regretted saying those words as this could've been a plan for him to fall for her all along. If that were the case, he isn't sure he would be able to stay in the same house with her anymore because of that. It would be a cruel plan on her part, even though he deserved it after everything he had put her through. He scoffed as he shook his head at her comment about the pickup lines. "Love, those hardly played a part in me falling for you." He said as he set his chin on the top of her head and held her close. The pickup ones were more what he was looking for to see what she came up with instead of having them make him fall for her. Though, when he said the same exact words to him, he knew that he found someone that cares for him for who he is rather than the status that he holds. He is not letting it go no matter how much someone tries to torture him to give it up. He laughed slightly at her comment about his pajamas being so soft. "At this point, I can't deny you if you steal them from me." He scoffed at her mentioning not seeing Selene. He has heard from her, considering she always checks on him even if she pokes fun of him for being down here with the mortals and actually falling for Cleo. She has been busy with other things and then stuff with Aattio has been going on, so she hasn't really been hearing from her much either. At her mention of nightmares and wanting to not be alone, he knew he couldn't just let her sleep by herself anymore. "Of course, I'll share a bed with you. Whatever will make you happy and comfortable." He said as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "And Selene is just fine." He said, though as if saying that, it was as if the Devil's sister was waiting for him to mention her. The door flung open and there in the doorway with a grin on her face was Selene and some other man that was just shaking his head at her like she is some weirdo or something. "Cleo! Luci! How are my two favorite people?"
