Callisto remained still, barely breathing as he stared into the murky structure, shadowed by the caved in roof. He didn't need to glance at Alma to know she was bearing arms, prepared to throw herself into the ruins. Strange that. Curious even. He wasn't aware of many women her age that had this sort of..prowess. Those thoughts were shattered as he heard the sound of Xevon all but smashing himself into the ruins, the clattering of wood and a loud shout of pain after the smack of bodies into the ground. It jerked his form back into animation and he began to step forwards towards the sounds, slowly at first but quickly growing speed. Lily wasn't far behind the approach, snagging Finn's shirt to drag him with her at first. Once she was sure he was following, she let him free from her grasp. It was difficult to navigate over the fallen rubble, clipping her foot on some objects as she misjudged the distance thanks to her new ailment. As she made it close enough to see Xevon's wings arching behind his back, Lily's eyes darted to the form beneath him. At first, she struggled to see what it was, but sure enough she could see legs and arms. Human legs and arms, which was a small comfort but then again Veles had looked like them. Beneath Xevon, with dirt now smeared across her face from the impact, lightly bleeding from the graze. A woman heaved for breath as she glared up at the larger man, her own fury matching his. "How about you shove those wings where the sun doesn't shine!" She snapped back just as sharply, sneering up at Xevon as she spoke. She wasn't strange looking, she just looked like a woman. Perhaps in her mid twenties, sun-kissed skin, blue eyes and a mane of wild brown hair. She had landed on her back, facing up at Xevon who was still glaring down at her. "You're the ones who are stealing my things and sleeping in my house!" The woman continued her reckless barking aggression. Clearly, she wasn't phased by the large winged man above her, nor the four other people that had emerged from the shadows. In fact, she didn't look scared at all. Which Lily found particularly interesting.

Alma winced, shaking her head lightly at the sound of scuffling and the shouts of brief pain. Her free hand lifted up to her forehead before she sighed. One day, he would learn that he was alive and not still dead and that actions came with consequences. Still, as Callisto went running out into the fray, Alma trailed after him. She leapt loosely over the ruins, spotting the winged form of the man first and then... the figure of a woman below. She seemed... rather irate instead of terrified. Which, good for her. Alma wasn't sure she could say the same if some mountain of a man came barreling down and all but trucked her. Whatever it was, the woman was angry. Finn startled and, with wide rusty red eyes, looked toward Lily as if to ask silently what they should do. Luckily, she answered that question by gripping his shirt and dragged him along. Finn kept pace, helping her navigate a bit before coming around to look at the spectacle. His head tilted, nose scrunching upward as he looked at the woman. "That's it?" Xevon, in the meantime, was not phased, not amused and silent. His blood red eyes focused on the woman, chest heaving a few breaths before he scowled. The expression had a few of his teeth bared as he leaned forward. "If you're insisting that we die, it may be within your best interest to know we already have," his hand gripped the woman's collar and brought her to her feet with ease. "Now, who are you and what is this place?" He gestured around them but kept his hold on her collar. "You'll forgive us, since we are... passing through on our way from the clutches of Veles--" "Ugh, do you have to be poetic now?" Finn complained, putting his hand against his face. "Look, we just got rid of Veles because he was the biggest prick around. We ended up here, wherever here is, and we're trying to get back home. To earth. Can you help us?"

The woman narrowed her eyes as Xevon lowered himself towards her, keeping eye contact with him, not a flinch to be seen. Even as he ripped her up from the groun and righted her on her own two feet, she remained glaring at him like a wild animal. Her eyes darted from person to person as they spoke, slowly a look of confusion rose in them as she settled on staring as Finn. "You're..strange." She started, carrying her eyes back to the man who was gripping at her shirt. The shirt was almost black with a faded logo on the front of it. It might have been a band name, but it was too faded to tell what it was anymore. Her pants were baggy black jeans with various pockets, the beginnings of dirtied white trainers were poking out from beneath them. "My name is Florence." She spat out, keeping up her sneering expression. Now that she wasn't almost growling out her words, the accent shone through. A bold New York accent, only made stronger by the clear irritation in her tone. "Who the hell is Veles? You're jabbering on about how you died, but you're standing right here." She continued, clearly exasperated with the lot of them. Her hand rose to flick around and gesture at the group. Lily's eyebrows knitted together as she watched the interaction, keeping her post beside Finntello as she oberserved Florence. She sounded normal enough to her, meaning she wasn't some lost person from years ago. Florence looked modern. "Ignore them." Lily stepped forwards, giving Xevon a quick sharp look of disapproval before focusing on her again. "We were trapped in a hotel, we got out. Now we're lost, we don't know how to get back home. Can you please help us?" She made an effort to keep her voice kind. "Hotel.." Florence narrowed her eyes as she looked as Lily, the graze on her cheek still leaking a small amount of blood, now that she was standing her arm on the right side that she initially landed on was also grazed up could be seen. "How did you get out of there?" Florence sounded as though what they had accomplished was impossible.

Xevon returned the short look from Lily with a tart glare as he finally let go and stepped back. His posture was rigid and tense, readied to snap at any given moment. His expression was just as dark and uncanny. He glared just as hard as she did, refusing to take his eyes off of the young woman. but he didn't say a single word. Florence. Finn raised both eyebrows at that. That was a relatively new-ish name. It wasn't entirely one that would be popular now but it wa popular give or take twenty... thirty even forty years ago. The attire, he glanced up and down, was itching more toward the nineties. Which all checked out in his brain. Black logo tee shirt, baggy jeans, white trainer shoes? Peak nineties. "We killed the guy in charge of it," Finn replied somewhat flatly. "That is Veles. He ran the hotel--I'm still not sure it wasn't like some sort of limbo or hell. But whatever. We killed that guy, smashed his lantern--not in that order--one of us happened to die and one of us was already dead but we're not dead anymore because we got rid of the lantern and that guy..." Finn frowned for a moment. "... gonna be honest, I think we went out the front door. Should we have? That's up for debate. But wherever this is," he gestured around them, "isn't home. You wouldn't happen to be from the nineteen nineties would you? Maybe early two thousands?" Alma shook her head lightly. "How long have you been here, Florence?" The woman stepped forward, drawing a touch of cloth from her pack to dab lightly at her cheek.

Florence lifted a hand to dust the front of her shirt, albeit rather dramatically with a pointed look towards Xevon before turning her nose up at him to focus on Finn as he began to assault her brain once more with information. She stared at him blankly after a moment, blinking slowly as she tried to process what he was trying to say. It was better to not ask questions, that was her conclusion. She knew about the hotel and the horrors within, she had heard utterings of the mad god that lived there and the terror he brought down on those inside and out. At his questions, the young woman baulked and took a step back, her eyebrows furrowing together rapidly followed by a scoff. "I came here in ninety five." With that she cast her scrutinizing gaze across the rest of the group, noting that they all looked vastly different. That being said, three of them looked more close in era than the other two. In particular... "What's his deal?" She threw a hand to gesture at Callisto that made him blink in surprise. It wasn't a lasting thought as Alma's touch to her cheek made Florence snap her head around and pull away, agast that someone had touched her. She backed up towards where the bag lay crumpled on the ground, her heel nudging it back slightly. "I'm fine." She muttered, looking between the large group one by one. How on earth could they expect her to be all buddy buddy when they were picking through her things and slamming into her from the sky. Morons. Callisto was relieved to have the attention of this new woman off of him, she was far more forward and much louder than Lily and Alma combined. The man wasn't quite sure he enjoyed the energy she was bringing, even if she was outnumbered, he suspected they would at least get a nasty mark from her before her demise if it came to that. In saying that, was she gifted as they were? If that were the case then...His thoughts trailed off, narrowed pink eyes staring relentlessly at Florence who was staring right back. "Seriously, why is snowflake so creepy?" Florence curled her lip, a slender hand lifting to flick accusingly towards Callisto, the man didn't react this time.

Finn watched for a moment before bobbing his head. He knew it. The nineties. A small smug smile covered his face as he stepped back with a short nod. He still had it. He knew exactly what he was talking about--at least when it came to that sort of thing. He glanced up as she gestured toward Callisto. Personally, he had been trying to ignore the guy but now that she had mentioned him, his rusty red gaze swiveled toward the pale man. "Well, he was one of the 'formerly dead' if that helps," Finn said flatly, waving one hand lightly. His next comment about Callisto not doing much was kept to himself. To be fair, since he had known him, he really hadn't done that much. Besides, given the two formerly dead--not including him--he would much rather take on Callisto than Xevon. A small bit of awe crept in. Florence hadn't seemed bothered in the slightest that the man was irritated, irate and lightly infuriated. Finn would be trying to find a rock to hide behind just in case. Then again, he knew what Xevon was capable of. And he also knew that he wasn't exactly the most mentally stable of the whole group. War memories and all of that. Alma stepped back before exhaling and shaking her head. Finn let out a sharp bark of laughter as she gestured to Callisto and called him creepy. "Dude--that's nothing. You should've seen Veles. Callisto? He's like.. vaguely freaky. More like porcelain doll uneasy. That's not creepy--" Xevon shot him a fiery glare and Finn closed his mouth. That was the look he was trying to avoid drawing on himself. Xevon turned to look back at Florence. "If you have nothing better to do or say, then we will be on our way--" Alma nearly protested but he lifted his hand and continued, "you are not willing to work together. You are hostile and, worst yet, you are as lost as we are. You are nothing more than a refugee in a land not your own. If you do not wish to work together then we will part ways. You will keep your ruined rubble of a town and whatever supplies you carry and we will move on."

Callisto's eyes narrowed into thin slits as he listened to Finntello speak, refusing to look in the young man's direction despite the rather demeaning comments that were being flung towards him. He didn't particularly care, but still it was rude. The look that Xevon gave Finn, that wasn't missed, he caught it from the corner of his eye right before the winged male began to address this new woman. Her scent was human. However...there was something else there. Something he couldn't quite place. Callisto suspected Lily could easily identify this woman as a human, but she was new to this use of the sense of smell, perhaps she wasn't as adept as he was. At least, not yet. There was a bubbling veil over the regular smell that made Callisto's body feel on edge, like he was being cornered by some predator. Florence whipped her attention around to Xevon, jaws parted in a scoff towards Xevon's dismissive words. Her hands found their way into the large front pockets of her jeans, her torso leaning back in a casual manner. "As lost as you are?" She sniffed, slipping her scrutinizing pale gaze between the strangers with a laziness that came easily to her. "I know this place like the back of my hand, who are you to tell me what I do and don't know?" Lily remained silent, there wasn't much she could contribute here. Afterall, Xevon had become defacto leader with slight lenience for Alma. "Taking orders from an over-grown bird." Florence was muttering to herself, giving a roll of her eyes as she bent down to pluck her bag from the floor. "Move on as you please, can't wait for the creatures to devour you." Her voice was light, driping with sarcasm as she flung the bag over her shoulder. "I'm surprised they haven't torn you all to pieces yet, maybe it's because they don't like the taste of chicken." Florence flicked a hand towards the winged men and began to step past them, picking the route between Alma and Lily as the best shot out of there. "It's not like I know how to get out of here or anything."Her back was facing them now, still walking away. "Have fun walking in circles for eternity." Florence lifted a hand and gave a short, half-baked wave without looking back over her shoulder.

"Well you're still here," Finn pointed out lightly. "Clearly if you knew how to get out of here... you would've? But look, don't... don't insult him. He... we've all been through a lot--" "Let her go, Finn," Alma said briefly, her eyes surprisingly cold. There was a small burning fire in the depths of her brown eyes as Florence stepped toward her and Lily. Her arms crossed over her chest with a rather irritated scowl. The emotions had changed since last Alma had spoken but the words Florence had said had rubbed her the wrong way. They were flippant and ignorant, demanding respect but not in a way that Alma gave respect. It... it reminded her of Kieran and the desire to absolutely knock a tooth out of the young woman was astoundingly strong. "She's not worth the trouble," Alma stated firmly, turning away from the young woman. Her supposed allure of hidden "knowledge" was not worth the flippant attitude and the insufferable snotty behavior. "Besides that, you two," she turned to the two winged men, "have got to do better." Xevon's feathers rippled and ruffled, his red eyed glare sharper than before. "She attacked us. I reacted." "Yeah--she didn't even ask what we were doing or even ask who we were," Finn protested as he walked toward Lily. "She threw rocks at us--it was inches from my head! I'm not going to just stand there and let her hit me. I'm going to fight back. I'm not going to just stand by again." Alma shook her head lightly. "That's--" "That's how you survive, ma'am," Xevon's words were tart and edged. "She insulted us straight off the bat--she didn't even know us. We are strangers to the woman and she chose violence. She insulted Callisto, ignored the scars that Lily bears and resisted your attempt to help. That woman was nothing but trouble and I know trouble when I see it!" His words were far more emotional than before. Finn's eyes were slightly wide, watching the man snap at Alma. "Last time I dealt with a woman like that, I ended up blowing the foot off of a man," Xevon snarled in return, his eyes blazing. "So we leave her behind to whatever devices she has and we move on." He turned, fluffed his wings out and stalked beside Callisto, daring anyone to say anything different.

Lily stood like a sentinel as she watched the smidge of information that was Florence walk away, feeling the rise of panic in her chest. Were they really going to let her leave? What was she talking about creatures? They had dealt with Callisto, she was more forward with her distaste than he was, then again a giant winged man had come barrelling from the sky and smacked into her. Lily would be lying if she said she wouldn't have reacted in a similar way, albeit a little more calmly. Callisto followed Florence with his eyes as she retreated away, narrowed gaze so honed in on the newcomer that he hadn't registered the high strung conversation being discussed beside him. Only when he felt the presence of Xevon approaching him did Callisto's head swivel to look up at him. "There is something different about her. She is not wholly human, but I do not know what else she could be." His voice was factual, tilting his head to the side as he surveyed Xevon's expression. Why did he look so irate? His wings were flexed up behind him and there was a small hint of disgruntlement across his features. Florence had not been particularly pleasant but that had never made Xevon baulk before. He raised a single eyebrow in question towards the taller man. Lily let her gaze slide from the agitated Alma and Xevon to peek up at Finntello. "Are we really not going to ask her for help? She seems to know more than we do." She mumbled under her breath. "I mean, she's rude. But I don't care if she insults me the entire time, as long as we get home."

Xevon scowled lightly shaking his head. "I don't care what she is. She can come back and apologize for her poor behavior. That type of behavior gets you killed, she may claim to know the way out but she's still here." Finn took Lily's hand, glancing back at the woman that was walking away. He shook his head lightly, torn between the two as well. But the logic was picking at his mind far more than the initial panic of letting her go. "I don't know, Lily. I don't think it's a good idea to ask for her help. She is clearly one of those 'I work alone' people--and besides, if she did know a way outta here... wouldn't she already be out of here? You heard her, she supposedly knows this place like the back of her hand, so why is she here? But I don't think Alma and Xevon can handle that type of attitude. Xevon especially... he's volatile, rigid and not... very fluid. If I rile him up by opening my mouth? Florence will be digging an early grave." He pushed one hand through his hair and curled one feathered wing around her shoulders. "If she did know something, it'd be nice, sure. But I mean, you gotta question if she really does know anything at all. She's still here, her attitude is so flippant and dismissive... that like, are those creatures really real? Or is she just saying that?" Finn shook his head. "I don't know--and for once, I'm glad I'm not the one in charge."
