Lily scrunched her nose up as she remembered that yes he had in fact completely ruined the ladder. Only distracted by the glass panes as they passed, her eye flickered with curiosity at the world that was portrayed outside. It looked inviting in comparison to the confines of the hotel. As Xevon redirected them to the main doors, she shuffled ahead a little to walk closer to Alma now that she was on the ground. Prepared to offer her any assistance that she might have needed. As she stepped outside, she felt the tightness in her ribcage alleviated, the restriction that her injuries had caused lifted. Her eye didn’t feel like a burning metal rod was being pressed into it, her hand lifted to press against her face, feeling the coagulated, sticky blood but no raw wounds beneath. It was raised and jaggard but it was scarring beneath the blood, not the slashes. Fear prickled along her spine as Lily came to the realisation that she still couldn’t see out of that eye, she passed a finger in front of it and saw nothing. A part of her hat hoped that it was a cosmetic injury, but it appeared that her eye was never to be useful again. Callisto sucked in a deep breath as they stepped outside, his eyes scanning around the area. He had little time to comment before he looked over his shoulder and saw the hotel vanish into nothingness. His muscles tensed up, his hands left Finn and he turned around distraught. The cellar door was in there, how are they going to get home? “I-It vanished.” He crept out, looking up and down to see if it would mysteriously reappear if he looked hard enough. Lily turned around, facing the rest of the group now so that she could get a look at whatever Callisto was talking about. Her injured eye was cloudy and half closed, savage scars ran from her hairline and down to her cheek then jaw, three wide claw marks that marred her eyebrow and most viciously her eye itself. Even with the coating of blood, the damage was obvious. Lily paid no mind to any looks she was receiving, instead she was staring at the place the hotel had been in bewilderment. It made sense, in a way, there was no life to give it existence. However…if this wasn’t earth. Lily slowly looked around the group. “How are we going to get home?” She tried to sound less scared than she was, but it was no use as her voice cracked at the end of her question.

Finn's head shook lightly, tossing his hair back and forth. As Lily lifted her hand to her face, he glanced over--partially hopeful. The way she looked... told him enough. It wasn't going to be the same ever again. The young man sighed, weakly, tearing a part of his sleeve off to wipe at the blood. The question was one that was burning in his chest but she said it far better than he would've. "We find something and if we can't get home, we make this our home," Xevon stated firmly--if not knowingly. "At least Boy Scout over here has some survival skills," Finn let out a small and dry laugh. "Y'know, back when the Boy Scouts actually did stuff... not the lame stuff we did." Alma looked up at the sky before lowering her gaze again. "We find shelter firstly, then water. We will clean up what we can so that we don't attract creatures," she held one dagger out to Xevon, kept one for herself and made sure Finn had his obsidian knife. Lily's attack of the god had given the woman time to collect weaponry again. She had her sling as well, tucked in the fanny pack around her waist. "Do you think we have cell service?" "Do you see a radio tower, genius?" "It's all satellite now, gramps--" Alma rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Callisto, get your man. Chico, I will tan your hide over my knee." Finn flushed with some color, lowering the attempted piece at a rag. "... sorry about your eye," he whispered.

She didn’t want to live here, it looked grim. The stickiness in the air was making her limbs feel heavy, she wanted to go home. Though, that definition of home had changed. It wasn’t that god awful limestone manor, it was the comfy warmth of Alma’s trailer and as much as she hated to say it, Callisto was included in that. Her eyes lifted as she listened to Xevon and Finn bicker like children, only to be corrected by Alma as soon as the words had left his mouth. Lily shook her head, taking his offering with a small smile. “You don’t need to apologise.” Her eye in trade for Finn not getting his spine ripped from his torso was a decent barter in her books. “Well, don’t need to apologise about my eye. You need to apologise for throwing yourself at that thing like a moron.” Whilst her words were scolding, her tone gave away her true emotions on that topic. The fact he was back overrode any frustration she had felt about how he had ended up dead in the first place. Her hand lifted to pull the rag of shirt against her skin, peeling it back and making a disgusted face at the half dried mess she was removing. “God, I must look awful.” Lily’s words were a mere mumble under her breath as she continued to rub away at her face. It must be all over her, in her hair, on her clothes. She felt quite disgusting. After scrubbing away what she could, Lily turned her eyes back up towards Finntello. The dark iris of her uninjured eye still glassy from the rollercoaster of emotions, the other almost whited out. She took a moment to collect herself as Callisto stalked away from their side, debating her next move. Screw it. Lily used her free hand to grasp at the tattered front of Finn's shirt, just under the collar to make him lean down. Pushing up onto her toes, she pressed her lips to the closest part of his face that she could reach. That being just above his jaw. She lingered for a moment before letting herself fall back onto her heels, the grip on his shirt lightening to barely touching. Callisto’s spine straightened at Alma’s words and a light colour returned to his now normal skin tone. The man shot her a sharp look as he crossed in front of her. “My man.” He grumbled, repeating her words with an air of annoyance as he approached Xevon. “Are you alright?” He asked quietly, walking to stand in front of Xevon. He looked the same, but the way he was holding himself was different. There wasn’t the glint of taunting in his eyes or the relaxed aura anymore, he was like a sentinel. The blond young man shook his head several times at Lily's words. "I didn't mean to! But he was rushing me, I didn't have much time to really react or anything else. I just had to... go for it and hope for the best." Lily's mumbled words caught his attention again and Finn turned to her almost immediately. His eyes softening and slightly warm. "Hey--no, you don't. You look just fine," he whispered, "a little dusty and dirty maybe but not awful." He glanced over as Callisto walked toward Xevon but turned back to Lily as she grabbed at his collar. A smaller smile in his lips that faltered briefly at her soft kiss. His cheeks flushed with color as he lifted his hand up to rub the back of his neck and took her hand with his other hand. Alma gave Callisto a small look in return, glancing around to study their surroundings. It felt reminiscent of fog on a humid morning in the fall back when she had visited Pensacola with a friend. But there was no fog, it was just the air itself. Xevon's ruby red gaze lowered as Callisto stood in front of him. His chest rose and fell slightly. "I... I am alive," he responded, loosely. "Thrice now, Death has turned her face. I am worried that I'm going to mess it up again. But this is... not the time to talk about emotions and feelings--" he chided lightly and avoided talking about anything else, "we need to move and to survive." This time, he was not going to lose his comrades.

Callisto blinked slowly as he listened to Xevon, a small sting in his chest at the formality. Whilst he hadn’t expected adoration, at least a..smile would have been nice? Instead of acting like a petulant child at the lack of conversation, he simply nodded his head, eyes casting back down to look over his shoulder to look out at the area around them. “I suppose, you are right.” His voice was slightly monotonous, withdrawing into himself a little bit. “Where..are we supposed to go from here?” Callisto pressed, squinting his pink eyes to try and see further away. There were rises and falls of gentle hills and some structures in the distance but what they were was up for debate, dark smudges in the far distance. Lily raised an eyebrow. “I think it looks awful and I haven’t even seen it yet.” She laughed gently, using the hand holding the rag to gesture up to the mangled side of her face. “At least it’s not going to get infected now that whatever weird magic just healed it up.” Her voice was a sigh, her gaze had drifted briefly away but returned to Finn’s face to enjoy the light colour dusted across it. Her free hand was taken by his and Lily stuffed the bloodied rag into her pocket, they may need it as trivial as it seemed they didn’t have much in the way of supplies. Her head tipped back down to look around the group, spending a little more time focused on Callisto and the stone-faced expression that was plastered across his features. Her eyebrows scrunched up ever so slightly, she hadn’t been paying attention to what they were talking about, had Xevon said something to offend him? Lily gripped Finn’s hand a smidge tighter and tugged him along with her towards the others. “Are we going to walk somewhere?” She questioned, peering out to see if there was some town or well anything, she had no idea what they were going to find out here.

Xevon's eyes scanned their surroundings, either not noticing or not commenting on the monotonous change in Callisto's tone. Now was not the time--he could feel his heart racing in his chest, his head spun from breathing again, the feeling of being alive still... swimming in his mind. It had been ages, eons, since he had flesh on bones. Ages since he had worried about survival, injuries and the likes. There were now a thousand things that could go wrong in a mere instant. He... wasn't sure how else to respond other than a thinly veiled attempt at hiding his internal instincts. "We walk," Alma confirmed as Lily and Finn came up beside them. Finn gave Xevon a slight side-eyed glance over before turning back to Lily with a rather surprised expression. He had figured the man was taller than him but he hadn't expected... this. "If we walk, we find something. Something is better than nothing," Xevon replied firmly, starting to make his way toward the distant structures. "There is something," he pointed toward the buildings and glanced back. "We'll head that way." "... anything else you'd like to add there, Principal Xevon?" Finn said flatly, shaking his head. "Lighten up a little bit, geez, we did it. We beat Veles, we're all alive and in one piece--more or less... technically," he faltered briefly. Technically, Lily still had her eye. Was it ... healed? Technically. Could she see? ... no.

Lily didn’t miss the look that Finntello had given her, but she focused on running her own eyes up and down Xevon. Well. He was something. Eventually, she looked back up to him and gave him a slightly exasperated look as he poked the bear again. Admittedly, Callisto had not been any better when he got his body back, he was a sobbing writhing mess on the floor. Lily wasn’t sure which of the extremes she preferred. Callisto gave a curt nod and began picking his way after Xevon, feeling a little bit like a lost puppy. “Lighten up?” He raised an eyebrow and gave Finn a short glance. “We are stuck here. I would rather focus on getting back than lightening up.” His sharp tongue had returned, bluntly airing out his thoughts on the current situation. His shoulder turned back just as quickly as he moved after Xevon, finding it rather annoying to walk through the uneven ground in these dress shoes. A change of clothes probably would have been smart before he came here, especially because now there was a gaping hole in the side of his shirt and vest where his healed torso was exposed. Blisterings of scar tissue sprayed up his side and into his ribs. Lily flattened her lips into a tight line at the switch but decided to say nothing, best not to provoke them. She gave a quick look to Alma and widened her eyes a little, realising she had been essentially hogging Finntello. Her free hand moved to tap at Finn’s forearm and then flicked out to point repeatedly towards Alma, freeing her hand from his. “Go to her.” She pushed him, giving his side a small nudge in her direction. Alma deserved the time with Finn more than she did, they had all the time ahead of them, but those two were far more intertwined than she was with him.

Xevon glanced back toward Finn, his eyes narrowing slightly. Callisto had said exactly what he had been thinking before he turned forward again, pausing to walk in tandem with the pale haired young man. Not that he was in better clothes to walk that far but the former ghost was far more used to marching for ages than anything else. When he had been dead, it was easier to forget when he was alive. And now it was harder to forget habits that had formed... not to mention... the prying questions. He had his own burning question--mostly as to how on earth that woman had found his call-sign. It should have died with him--with his sergeant--and yet there she was calling it out with confidence. The man shook his head clear of his thoughts and instead turned to focus ahead of him again. Finn shook his head lightly. "We defeat a god and they're already moving past it," he murmured dryly, one hand on his own side. He glanced toward Lily as she tapped his arm and pointed toward Alma. "I--" he hesitated, "what about you?" Finn protested lightly. Granted it was a rather flimsy excuse but it was also partially an excuse to not stand by Alma. He stepped toward her and was immediately greeted with a quick hand that clipped the back of his head. Alma gave him a rather silent look before embracing the young man. "I know," she whispered into his ear, "that you try and make light of situations. But not everyone does," she leaned back, "quieter, Chico." Finn nodded, reluctantly before she pushed him back toward Lily and walked behind the two pairs.

Lily almost stumbled over her own feet as she watched Alma almost immediately flick Finn around the back of the head, catching herself before she fell face first into the grass. She did her best to pretend that he hadn’t happened and snapped her head forwards as to not impose on their conversation. Callisto dared a short look up towards Xevon, peering from the corner of his eyes up at him. It felt rather daunting to be walking beside him, clearly he knew Xevon was a large man, however when you’re able to make up for it by floating that bit further from the ground it was less..well drastic of a height difference. “I wish you had spoken to me before you traded yourself in to get them out of there.” He kept his voice lowered, he knew Lily would still hear but she never brought up anything she overheard. A trait he found admirable in the young woman. “You did not need to do it.” Callisto’s eyebrows furrowed together and his line of sight returned to the expanse of land before them. He was trying his best to hide the twinge of upset in his tone, but it was just about present. The woman’s head glanced to the side as she saw a flap of a wing and then the shadow of Finntello appeared beside her again. Lily’s head tilted backwards and she offered him a small sheepish smile. “Sorry.” It wasn’t a proper apology, tinged with amusement at seeing him get clipped around the head. “She wouldn’t have come up to you with me hovering around you like a pest.” Lily joked, tipping her head back down, studying the back of Callisto’s head as she heard him speak.

Xevon's expression hardly changed--if anything, it darkened only slightly. "I did," he responded shortly, refusing to accept that his sacrifice had been in vain. The awful pit that dropped into his stomach at the sheer brush of the thought was agonizing. "There was no way they were going to be able to kill him with just themselves. It took all four of you and even then, we did not all come out of it alive at first," he responded before shaking his head. "You are alive. You... you are safer now than you were before," his blood red eyes scanned the distant horizon. "Please, Callisto, do not make me regret what I have done." Finn shook his head, rubbing the back of his head. "... that was kind of the idea," he responded lightly with a loose chuckle. "If I hung around you long enough, she'd forget about it and I'd be safe from it. At least, it wasn't the sandal." Not that the woman was wearing sandals but the threat was... still technically there. Finn carefully tucked his hand into hers again, running his thumb over her knuckles. "So, when we get back... you... you have any plans or ideas of what to do next?"
