The mocha she-wolf turned, before leading him to the forest. She smelled her son's scent on a few plants, but she wasn't going there for him. She knew where she was going; she had each individual tree and rock and bush mapped out in her mind. As she walked, she glanced behind at the cat. "I forgive you for attacking my children and myself. However, I do not find it very kind, nor will I condone anymore." She paused, flicking her ears back as Iris, her parakeet, landed on her shoulder. "Should you harm any more of our pack, I will not hesitate to kill you, even if it goes against my beliefs," she finished plainly, before turning her head to look in front of her. "I certainly wish you would not. It would be a pity to lose a beautiful creature like yourself, despite your... clouded judgment."

Frost nodded at the wolf's words, he was wondering where he was going. The feline sighed, almost stopping in his tracks when a rabbit ran from a bush. He shook his head to clear and kept walking on after the wolf.

It was eerily silent as Truth walked. Almost as if she was testing the cat... "Ah, here we are." They arrived at a large boulder, split down the middle. From the large crack rose a bush, its finger-like branches reaching out to the scarce sunlight like a parched man for water. Almost completely hidden by fallen leaves was a hole, small enough for a newborn pup to curl underneath. Truth turned to the cat, motioning to the boulder with her tail. "This is where I was abandoned by my mother when I was just a pup," she began, glancing at the hole underneath the rock. Her eyes, deep as underwater pits, glistened with tears. "She hid me here when hounds, sent by the humans, came to kill me and my mother." "She left me and ran, leading the mutts away. I was alone. I have not seen her since," she said, in a shaky voice. "As I grew older, so did my hatred for those mutts and their owners. They had no reason to kill us; we were of no threat to them. But they were scared of us, so they decided to get rid of us." She chuckled darkly, shaking her head. "Such a shame they failed." She looked back to Frost, eyes burning. "I hated them, but once I grew older, I learned to forgive them. They were afraid. They had every right to be. We were more powerful than them. But that did not justify their actions." "What those humans did to you was uncalled for. But your retaliation towards us was also not right. I'm sorry for what you have gone through."

Frost sat across from Truth, tail flicking, he was obviously still angered. The feline didnt say a word, just sat there. "What they did in unforgivable!" He lashed out, standing with a lashing tail. "They did this! That's why I-" Frost suddenly stopped, finally realizing what he did. "killed them." He trailed off, wide eyed and afraid of himself. The feline didnt know what to do, he didnt want to die, he didnt want to become some other animals dinner. It was out of his control what he did. It scared him, it scared him he'd kill someone important in his life.

Truth sat still as Frost shouted, her eyes unblinking. There was a pause. Truth stepped forward, leaning down. She pressed her nose to his forehead reassuringly. "It's alright. You're safe now. I won't let them hurt you," she whispered.

Frost sighed, he was so tense and afraid that he realized he was holding his breath. Once Truth spoke, he calmed down a bit knowing that it wasnt his end. Frost sat back down, fur laying down again.

As Frost settled, Truth pulled away. She sat down, bowing her head and curling her tail around her paws. "Mother?" Truth's head looked up to the boulder and saw Whisp peering out from the bush, betrayal written on his face. Truth tilted her head curiously. Strange. A small yip sounded from underneath him, and Truth's gaze trailed down. Lamentis was in the very same place that Truth was left by her mother, her chin resting on her paws. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as Truth's eyes flashed down to her. How long had they been there?

Frost jumped when Whisp spoke, it startled him because before it was dead silent other then the soft swaying of the trees in the wind. Once he realized it wasnt a threat he calmed again, eyes glancing from Truth to Whisp. The canine had a look of betrayal on his face and Frost almost immediately knew that Whisp would no longer trust him, even if previous actions were involuntary.

Truth tilted her head at Lamentis, letting a smile slip past her calm expression. "Mother, don't you know that he... that beast is a murderer? Of his own family?!" Whisp spat, leaping down from the boulder and stalking closer, tail lashing. Lamentis let out a whine, shrinking back into her little hiding place. "How can you try to befriend a murderer, Mother? He attacked your daughter. He threatened me. Hell, he tried to claw your eyes out!"

Frosts ears flattened, and he took a wary step backwards. The feline stood speechless for a moment, eyes glistening with fear as the wolf stepped forward. His legs shook beneath him and a marking on his right shoulder glowed, finally able to muster up enough to speak. "It wasn't my fault." Frost replied, almost a whisper.
