Yea I can just finish it now so we don't have to have the brothers fighting.)) ~~ Although Jason was Julian's little bro, and he didn't really want to hurt him, he also didn't want to lose this fight. He could already hear Jason making fun of him for getting knocked out so there was absolutely no way he was gonna allow Jason to win. "I'm not pissed off, but I will be if you fucking knock me out," Julian hissed under his breath as he grappled with Jason, it was going basically no where considering they were both rocks and all. Despite that, Julian was not giving up. As Julian tried to shove Jason off, there was a loud crash from the direction of their comrades, and with a quick glance over to them Julian paused. "Yea I don't think we really need to keep fighting." He jerked his head over in the direction of the others, pulling away from Jason quickly. ~~ It turned out that fighting a villain whose main power was jumping after injuring one of their legs could hardly be considered fighting. Addilyn discovered this quickly enough as she darted around Leap Frog, who squirmed about trying to hop away, but the sharp pain in her leg, as well as the other cuts Addilyn had managed to land, were definitely bringing her down. This turn of the tides of course made Addilyn have some hope that she'd be able to actually win the fight, this went sideways when Harrison flew into the wall beside her with a loud crash and a shrill groan. The next few moments were filled with action, as Mechanic booked it over to where Harrison was limply sitting on the ground and Addilyn, still invisible, raced over to Leap Frog. The woman was exhausted, but Addilyn was still pretty energetic, that's what happened when Addilyn had nothing else to do for a week. At the same moment Mechanic reached Steel, Addilyn had overpowered Leap Frog and held a knife to her throat. It was only when Leap Frog cried out that Harvey realized that they were at a standstill. Harvey could kill Steel, and Shadow could kill Carla. "Let him go or I slit her throat." Addilyn hadn't had the time to put in her speaker, so her own voice growled the harsh words, and as she spoke a drop of blood slid down Carla's neck, which Harvey assumed was a warning. ~~ Julian glanced from the standstill to Jason, and whispered, "we'll figure shit out later. Also, if she kills my friend I'm gonna be pissed." With that Julian strolled on over to the women, his hands up in a surrender sort of gesture. "Okay we don't need to go that far, Mechanic, back up, he isn't going anywhere." Julian was technically in charge of the current mission, so Harvey had to listen to him. He watched as she begrudgingly backed away from Harrison, who was completely passed out. Harvey's mech arms really had some power behind them. "Now let Leap Frog go," Julian growled, his almost friendly demeanor evaporating, Carla was his friend, and this Shadow woman was calculating, and he couldn't quite figure out where her head was. Truthfully, he was a bit worried, about her not releasing Carla. With only a bit of hesitation, Addilyn released the other woman, who stumbled forwards and was promptly caught by Mechanic. In the distance, sirens wailed, and Mechanic worriedly looked from Addilyn to Boulder. "I don't know what you're waiting for, get out of here," Addilyn said as the wailing grew closer. Her words seemed to shock Boulder, but he didn't wait for anything else, and within moments, the trio was off. Once Addilyn couldn't see them anymore, she turned around and hurried over to Steel, who seemed to be slipping in and out of conciousness.

Jason rolled his eyes as he and Julian separated from their glorified wrestling, although since he was concerned about what was going on, so he didn't say anything about it. As they approached the two tense parties, Jason restrained himself from leaning casually on Julian's shoulder, like what he might have done outside of their costumed personas, but realized that - maybe - that wouldn't be the best move. ... At least not right now. ... Jason really wanted to fuck with everyone else (especially Sandstorm) by being casual with Julian in later fights.... when his... friends/teammates/acquaintances weren't being threatening with kidnapping and/or death. ... "And if your friend kills my... uh teammate, I guess, then I'll be pissed," Jason retorted back, although he stayed silent as Julian negotiated a temporary peace. He was semi-surprised when Addilyn told them to scram, but then again, she wasn't exactly the poster-person for being a hardass jerk of a hero. As well, based on a bits of information Jason knew about Addilyn's past, he could also be surprised about the fact that she was fighting on the hero side of this fight. ... "Steel, if I end up having to carry you, then I'm going to be annoyed," Jason grumbled as he crouched down beside the injured hero. His nonchalant bravado hid his genuine concern for his possible-friend, although that wouldn't be anyone else's business (except for maybe Addilyn). With a small wince, Jason held his exposed hand over his chest, drawing out tendrils of red colored energy. He then placed his hand on Steel's chest, the energy absorbing into his system. Jason himself felt his shoulders sag with the action, part of his energy sapped out of him, although not enough to do any damage. It would be easily replenished when Jason could get his hands on a power-outlet, or eat and take a nap. Looking up to meet Addilyn's eyes, he shrugged, "Hypothetically, that should give him some energy and get him up and get going, if he isn't seriously injured. Then again, I've never done that before... so.... yeah." - I HAVE AN IDEA. NOT NOW, BUT DHFSKLDFJDSKLFJDS 1) PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT COLORED ENERGY INSIDE OF THEM AND JASON COULD PROBABLY MATCH PEOPLE UP WITH THEIR COSTUMED/civilian selves based on their energy auras, if hes taken energy/given them energy before AND MOST IMPORTANTLY 2) jason can transfer energy. imagine someone (idk who) is severly injured, and their heart is failing, and jason shocks their system with energy and restarts their heart 0.o HMM?? whatcha thinK?

Addilyn removed her hands from Steel's arm, where she'd located a broken arm from the impact, as Jason reached out. Technically she wasn't quite sure what he planned on doing, but she was pretty sure she shouldn't be touching Steel while he was doing it. In the distance, the siren's wail grew louder and Addilyn watched on worriedly. It wasn't like she disliked Steel, he was a good kid, but that was the thing, he was a child. From what she'd gathered, he'd joined the company at 18, and now, a year later, was only 19. Although Addilyn didn't underestimate him, she also knew that he was so, so young, and had plenty of things that he could be doing that didn't involve putting his life on the line every day. And now he was injured. "I hope he'll be okay, poor kid, his cover is completely blown," Addilyn murmured as Jason pulled away. She stared at the red haired young man for a moment before her eyes slid over to Jason. "Thank you fo-" Addilyn stopped as Steel suddenly gasped awake, his eyes fluttering open. "Am I dead?" Steel's shout made Addilyn laugh softly under her breath, but as his words desolved into small whimpers of pain she immediately stopped. "You shouldn't move, you hit that wall hard. You have multiple broken bones and probably a concussion. The medics will be here soon though." Addilyn quickly reassured Steel as he released a soft groan. Finally, the sirens were suddenly there, and the ambulance pulled up along with several black cars with tinted windows. The medics quickly hopped out and Addilyn hurried out of their way as they began to moce Steel. Her eyes stayed on him as he disappeared into the ambulance on the stretcher. If only she'd been a little faster, and not so preoccupied with her own fight! Maybe then she would've been able to stop him from getting so fucked up. Addilyn released a heavy sigh as she pushed stray strands of hair out of her face. Without her realizing it, Commander had strutted on over to both her and Jason, his harsh glare immediately landing on her. "Well, good try you two. It was better than nothing I suppose. Though it would've been better if you hadn't you know, let go of the enemy." Commander's eyes shifted from Jason to Addilyn as he spoke, his eyes cold. "Where's Sandstorm?" Addilyn didn't give Commander the satisfaction of seeing her try and come up with an explanation for what she'd done. "Well he's on a secret mission at the moment. I am quite pissed at Neon though, she shouldn't be focused on anything else right now other than this mission," Commander huffed as Addilyn rolled her eyes. "Hypocritical much?" "Excuse me? You're the one that can't seem to do her job right ever, perhaps it was a mistake putting you on this team. Even Recrimination here was able to fight his opponent, and probably would've won too. Meanwhile, you let not just one escape, but all of them go." Addilyn grit her teeth at Commander's words, she knew he was just trying to get under her skin, but it still sucked. Of course, Addilyn's short fuse didn't last very long under such pressure so she simply snapped back. "Yea, well I don't see you out here fighting, making split second decisions that could cost you your life. No, you're safe locked away in your little tower, having fun just watching people get hurt. If you care about how each fight goes so badly why don't you get out on the streets yourself?" By the end of Addilyn's little rant, the workers going around doing damage control had gone silent and even Commander looked baffled. Instead of speaking, Commander turned tomato red and walked away. And although Addilyn's arms were crossed and she looked a little worse for wear, the movement under her mask, as well as the gleeful glint in her eyes, told that she was most definitely smiling.

Before the ambulance arrived, Jason lightly patted the shoulder of Steel's unbroken arm, "You did good, kid. Nice job." Seeing his face without a mask made Jason realize how young Steel really was. He should be in college or, shit, he could still be in high school. Or at least that age. It wasn't right, that kids were out fighting on the streets, doing dangerous jobs. He shared a glance with Addi as they moved back to give the medics room. At least they were older - mid-to-late twenties. They weren't kids anymore, although, if Jason was being frank, Addilyn had probably been doing this sort of stuff from an age even younger than Steel, and Jason himself had probably been right around his age when he first got into 'villainy.' So, perhaps they weren't the examples, but still. He was too young to be dealing with this. Now, though, there wasn't enough time to keep thinking about this. Commander was walking over with his panties all in a twist, and Jason didn't try to stop the sigh that escaped his mouth. He echoed the "Even Recrimination?" soon after the dickwad said it, faux hurt in his voice. After he and Addi had their glorified cat fight, Jason spoke loudly as the 'Commando' was walking away, and was still within earshot, "Good choice to let them go. If they they stayed, things could have gotten a lot work for Steel. It was the right call, even if," now, this may not be one of Jason's finer moments, but sue him: the guy was a dick, "some people are too stupid to see that, and have a brain the size of a walnut, and the balls to match."

Addilyn watched as Commander walked away, she knew she would pay for her words later on. Perhaps it would be in a small, practically unnoticeable way. Maybe her blades would be dull the next time she used them, despite her sharpening them every day. Perhaps her suit would be less armored next time she wore it, the protective padding having somehow disappeared overnight. But, of course, there was also the path that Addilyn didn't want to think of. The smaller paychecks, the money she needed for her mother slipping through her fingers. Maybe she'd be kicked off this case, and get demoted a couple of levels, even further from the Elite status that she currently held. Then, there was the dreaded five letter word that started with an f. Fired. Addilyn doubted it though, this was a high profile case, and she was quite obviously one of the assigned heroes working it. If Commander fired her now, then there would be too many questions. He'd get hate if he admitted that the reason why he fired her was because of personal matters. So although Addilyn was a little worried about whatver devious plan the asshole was cooking up, she didn't really care. Addilyn was pulled out of her thoughts as Jason spoke, and the words that came out of his mouth shocked her at first. Her eyes widening at the pure audacity of the man, but when they finally hit her she busted out laughing. She couldn't help it, not just because it was Jason saying it, but because she had never heard anyone dare say something so...hilarious against Commander. Addilyn took a step back as she tried to regain her composure, already forgetting what she'd said to Commander, and what exactly that might mean for her. Shadow finally pulled herself together, ignoring the quiet, curious glances she was getting from the pick up crew. "Well thank you for the vote of confidence Recrimination, and nice fighting. I'll see you at whatever fight we get called for next." Shadow began to back up, and then, with one last glance around to make sure that the crew wouldn't need anything from her, disappeared from view. She always did this after a fight where she wouldn't be returning to HQ, just so she could get back to her car without people following her. ~~~ We gonna ts? Cuz I don't have anything.

sure! go to jason and julian meeting up to go to the peach festival? (and running through the stuff they have to do first (like jason telling commando 'oh bt-dubs i'm leaving for like a week, but the other team won't attack, so it's chill' and messaging addi) then ending the first two replies w them meeting up and getting in jason or julians car?) so then we can have the "YOURE A HERO?" "YOURE A VILLAIN?" talk

btw, this is easily the worst thing i've ever written :)) haha))) ----- After the fight, when Jason had a moment to breathe before heading home, he sent off a text to Julian. They had already confirmed during the fight that they were going to the Peach Festival, and needed to talk, so Jason figured the best time to do so would be during the multiple hour drive. . "meet at my place at 8 tomorrow for peach fest? also- teams call temp truce for the teams while we are gone?" . That would have to do for now, because after Jason got home, he immediately passed out on the couch after draining a Gatorade. Transferring his energy had been tougher than Jason expected, although he figured that part of it was inexperience in that field, and the experimental factor of it. He'd have to work on that move... It was a good three hours later when Jason woke up. Upon waking, he found himself reminded about the fact that his new 'team' had no idea he was leaving, as well as the fact that he hadn't mentioned it to Addilyn in about a month, and wouldn't be surprised if she had forgetten, since it was mentioned in a causal passing. Un-smushing his face against the couch, Jason rolled over on his side, and grabbed his phone from the coffee table. First thing first: texting Addilyn. . "hey -- just a reminder that i'm heading out of town for a few days to spend time with my brother. i mentioned leaving a few weeks back. i'll get a promise that the other group won't attack while i'm gone :) so you'll have a bit of break too! ♥️ you, and i'll see you soon bb" . That now taken care of, Jason heaved himself off of the couch, and dug around in his costume pants pocket (which was in a pile on the floor, currently) for his 'work' communicator. The message he left there was... less polite. . "heeey. i'm leaving for like a week, but never fear: your favorite blackmailed villain got some assurances for no attacks from the new group. someone can tell or not tell commando - idc. bye losers (except steel, cuz his life is ass rn)" . Heh... Anyway... Jason had yet to pack his suitcase (something he'd been planning to do earlier in the day, before getting sidetracked by the fight) for the trip, so he was soon busy with that. As soon as packing was done, Jason made himself an easy meal for dinner and went to bed early. The next day, Jason was loading up his suitcase into the car at eight o'clock, waiting for Julian to show up.

It's definitely not the worst thing you've written. Trust me. Also, I'm sorry but the quality in replies is gonna be lower just cuz the stuff I'm replying to is modern and I haven't read anything other than The Queen of Camelot and now I only speak in Old English apparently lmao XD)) ------ It wasn't like Julian to reply straight away, and that say was no exception. Five hours after the fight (after talking with his crew about the Peach Festival and making a few plans for the weeks ahead) he finally got around to replying to Jason's text, and, in proper Julian fashion, it was just a simple: "yep. see ya then." Granted, by that time Julian was about ready to pass out and promptly did so after sending out the text. - When Jason's text reached Addilyn, she was just barely arriving home from a dinner with her mom. His text made a small smile slip onto her face and she'd replied pretty quickly. "Okay, sounds like a good weekend. Have fun! ♥️ you too." Addilyn would have her hands full as well, as he mother would be spending the next month-ish at her house and she wasn't quite sure how that would go. - Sandstorm was pissed at Recrimination's sudden leave, but since he couldn't really do anything other than tell Commander and send Rec a simple. "You suck ass, you better come back." Yea Sandstorm didn like the guy or anything, but he was still needed on the team. - So, Julian was a little late to say the least. It wasn't his fault, the alarm he'd set had somehow just disappeared and now he was speeding over to Jason's. Truthfully, he was pretty sure the disappearing alarm had to do with the fact that his phone was as older than the fucking moon and ran like it too. Upon arriving at Jason's, Julian's car slid to a stop and he hopped out with a smile and a wave at his brother. "Hey little guy!" Julian yelled as he approached Jason. The fact that Jason was basically the same height as him did not prevent Julian from calling him small. Their childhood rivalry had never quite disappeared.

(ignore my previous reply about jason loading a suitcase into the car. he has a motorcycle, and it would make sense to take julian's car lmao) - Jason, who was waiting on the sidewalk, simply gave Julian an unimpressed look, "You're late." The words were said without any real heat - Julian was almost always late, so Jason wasn't overly annoyed at this one instance. "Pop your trunk so I can put my suitcase in your car, you oaf. And I am not little. I could, quite literally, carry you around." Despite his harsh words, Jason was grinning. He always looked forward to the Peach Festival, and being able to spend time with his older brother.
