Tojan embraced Chani and gently set her down. "We do." He strongly replied "and please don't call me sir." He whispered in her ear. Tojan hurriedly went to get Chanis mare from her stall, and left Chani with her dad. When he got back Chanis dad was preparing for war. Tojan stood beside Chani and grabbed her by the waist, and he transported her into the underworld. "Kolen, try to excercise your wings, we have a war to fight." He ordered. Tojan quickly spread his wings and stepped up to the podium, with Chani next to him. "Demons!" He yelled, "I call you forth to battle the heavens!" Suddenly all creatures of the underworld were in front of the cliff. "The king of the angels himself has challenged us, and we will not lose. We have 2 hours to prepare, and after that it is war!" Everybody cheered for their leader, and went off to prepare for war. "Chani, I'll send you up to the heavens to prepare. If you wish to stay with me you can, but I need you to be ready when the time comes."

“As you wish, Tojan” Chani said flapping her wings two times before disappearing to prepare for the war.

Her father was doing the same. Except that he would do everything in his power to break Chani’s bond to Tojan. Forever. He gathered all his royal guards and men before him and told them what was to happen.

“A war begins in three hours. I want Tojan dead and my disobedient daughter brough over to me. This is a war between me and her. Her love is another matter”

“What if he gets in the way, Your Majesty” One of the guards asked

“Then do everything you can to get him away from Chani!” the King snapped. “She will pay for what she has done to the Angelic family line. She will learn a terrible lesson when I get my hands on her”

Chani of course could hear this conversation, so she knew what was to happen. Tojan, Th-they plan to kill you to get to me…you need to save yourself. I’ll be fine. I had training with these Angels when I came of age. I know their strength and weaknesses. You don’t. She said to her soulmate telepathically. You need to let me handle this war. My rules. My commands. But bring your men along. She knew that it was a risk she was willing to take. Even if she would be severely punished by her father. Please let me take control of your army, Tojan I may hate them, but this is my father we are talking about.

When she finished preparing herself in a royal garment and armour, she went back to Tojan’s side and stood still like a warrior waiting for her leaders orders “ I need to speak to your men, Tojan. Please” She said turning her head slightly so her turquoise eyes met his “ If you want you and your demons to live, obey MY orders.” She said strongly before glaring at the fellow demons that had come forward and she soke with out permission. Another risk she was willing to take to save her life and the life of the demons.

“ My name is Chani! As you already know, my father is bringing a war that I know you are not ready for. I can already see dead bodies around me anywhere I walk. Your bodies.. Only I remain standing with my angels.” She looked at each of the demons in turn before speaking again “ I am going to prevent that from happening” She cleared her throat. “ I want only two of you to come at a time of ten minute intervals. This will confuse my fathers army and make him think that you gave up.”

She then looked back at Tojan “ I am willing to die if that is the case. I am not afraid of death. I was once, but after my mother… I have learned to face death head on.” She kept her white sunlight wings up as she walked to her soulmate. “ Let me take control of this army, Tojan. “ She pleaded again, her hand grazing his jawline like he did to her, sending a warm feeling through him. “ I want us to have a future together. A family. But only if you obey me like I obey you”

"I can't let you die on my behalf." Tojan whispered to Chani up in heaven. "Demons! The time to battle is coming closer! Prepare your steeds and animals! We cannot lose this!" Tojan yelled to anyone in the square. When Chani arrived back at his side Tojan internally screamed at her for assuming that they would accept the insults she unintentionally said. As multiple entities began to advance Tojan said "I give her command, she is to be obeyed above any other!" Tojan knew the demons would not be happy about it, but he had to acknowledge her skills. "I will, but on one condition, if you know you will die you must let one of my demons take the blow." He said, and as she touched his jawline everything sparked, and Tojan led her into a little abandoned shop before drawing her in close to kiss her, and he embraced her body, each part of him sparking that she touched.

Chani wrapped her arms around Tojan’s neck as she felt him kiss her. But she then backed off. “ As your soulmate… we need to get the war underway” She strongly said “ we shall have time to be together afterwards” and with that, she headed back to the group of demons.

“ Understood, Tojan” Chani said, but not before she heard him screaming at her for doing what she did. You can punish me all you want afterwards, Tojan. I accept it. No matter what it is. She said to him again before taking a few deep breaths to collect her thoughts and faced the demons. “Follow my orders and I won’t hurt you. Or at least… my father wont” she mumbled the last three words to herself. “ Set yourselved up in pairs and in ten minute intervals apart. I want this to be a war my father will never forget."

She didn’t want Tojan’s men to die if she was the one meant to die. But she had to obey. Im going to regret taking control of this army of Demons she thought to herself as she whistled and her mare came galloping towards her. When she got to her side, Chani climbed on, armor and all, and turned her back to the battalion and faced her soulmate “ I suggest you stay here. I wont risk having you killed by the hands of my farther or his men”

She then ordered the men

to follow her in pairs at a time to fool her father, into the arena. She then called out in her Angelic Irish accent said “Father! Come forth if you will. But you will never get me back. I belong to Tojan. As his Soumate and servant.”

But everything was silent for what seemed like an eternity. But then, at the other end of the arena, the ones that she trained with whens he was a litle girl, came runnng out at four at a time.

“My disobedient daughter fights for that Demon she calls her soulmate and Master. “ Her father snickered. She heard his men laugh along as they surrounded her and the Demons that came. “You will come back to me and serve twenty years in my dungeon, Chani. You wobe be called a daughter of the mighty one, but a slave and servant. You wont win with just two puny Demons, my dear.” He laughed.

Chani had to keep her sanity as her father talked on and on. “ If that is what happens, so be it. But Tojan would always find a way to get me back. Our bond is strongest when we are together. But this is a fight only I can win against you” She argued back, facing her father. “ This is a war you shall not win. Not over my dead body.” She signaled both Demons to her side “ Kill anyone who tried to get to me.” She commanded “ But leave my father for me to deal with”

She sent the last message to all the Demons so that she didn’t have to repeat it over and over.

As Chani went off to war Tojan sat feeling useless. "Well, my girlfriend has gone off to fight a war that I sparked, and I'm left here sitting by myself. I've reached an all time low." Tojan grumpily stared out the window, and decided to replace a demon in the next round. Tojan went outside and mounted Chani, telling the demon he replaced to sit this one out, and started to move forward. Tojan heard Chanis voice ring in his head, and reached the other side. Immeaditly Tojan felt out of place in this pristine white arena, everything gleamed as if it had just been scrubbed with some magical cleaning solution. As Kolen walked up beside the other demons Tojan sheepishly grinned. "Sooo.... this is your child hood training arena."

Chani didn’t want to be mad at Tojan. She knew that he wanted to help her.

“ Baby. I know how much you want to help. But the risk of you dying is really high.”

She then saw one of the Angels come right at her and she went attack mode “ Sun! Spikes, Now!” And in that second, Sun had spikes on her legs, chest and head.

“ Come on, Chani. You know that technique wont work.” Sage chuckled as Sunlight reared up trying t scare them off.

What Chani needed was protection I need all demons on deck! Now!” She commanded them

But as she said that, a knife landed in Sun’s flank. Her whinny filled the arena. Her eyes filled with fear. But then she dropped, making Chani take a second look at who threw the knife. Her eyes locked onto her father and rage filled her. “ Father!” she yelled as she blocked blows to her head and chest You could have killed her!”

“ That wasn’t my plan, dear.” He said slyly as one of the Angels she passed took hold of her and placed a sword at her throat.

By this time, only three out of one hundred Angels died in the arena and more than half of the demons were left. And the time had elapsed only two hours.

“ Let go of me!” Chani said fightinf the others tight grip.

“ I wouldn’t move, Chani” Her father said standing in front of her. “ I’ll let this war slide. But im not leaving til you are in my dungeon.”

Chani gulped as she looked at Tojan Baby…go… I’ll be fine. She ordered as she was taken away. Now being held by her father. And instead of royal armor… she had her hands behind her back locked by silver shackles. With no way for a key to be able to open it

"I know that, but I can't just let you die! Plus I was bored." Tojan determidly replied. Tojan saw something coming out of the edge of his eye, and kicked Kolen into motion to avoid being hit by a swinging blade. A loud voice filled his head as all of the demons swarmed the arena, battling the small by comparison angel squadrent. Tojan was in the middle of trying to trample some enemies when he heard a shrill whiny and Chanis mare falling to the ground with her on it. Tojan boiled with rage, seeing Chanis father smirking. Tojan got knocked off of Kolen while he was in his daze, and was roughly picked up and dragged over to another side of the arena. Multiple demons where trying to help, but they all fell at the blade of the skilled swordsman. Tojan was disarmed and trying to kick the large angel to no avail. Tojan remembered he had wings and took flight, getting his sword and engaging in aerial battle. As Tojan was going for a nose dive he heard Chani inside his head. Tojan quickly whipped around and saw her being taken away in shackles. Tojan roared and flew to her, but got intercepted by the big angel. Tojan screamed and kicked but eventually he was taken away in black shackles made of heat resistant metal.

Chanis father gave a laugh as he brought her to the dungeon three stories down and locked her “ You are gonna serve twenty years before you lay your eyes on your “ master and lover” again, my dear. “

“ He will find a way, father. I know that for a fact” Chani said as she glared at her father. Anger in her eyes. trying to fight the bonds.

“ Well he wont be seeing you for a long time either.. He has his own little shackles. Both not able to be unlocked with a key.” He turned his back to the cell and shocked her two times. Making her drop to the cold dungeon floor before leaving and locking the door behind him.

He headed back to where Tojan was taken and grinned “ Im letting this war slide, Demon. But I will hurt you if I see that that dungeon doesn’t have her inside. “ he said threateningly “ But I will allow one thing…” he looked at Tojan's worried, but determined facial expression “ I will let you see Chani once a week for an hour. But that’s it. “

Chani layed there, her eyes closed and shivering, she refused to let her sun powers to warm her. She was too hurt to even deal with the temperature at the moment. Her mare on the other hand was being taken care of by the Angels that survived and was taken to a stall so she could heal and eat.

Chani couldnt believe that the war caused this to happen. As she was thinking about Tojan, a single tear fell from her eye. Making the dungeon brighter than it actually was. But she would give up on doing hat her father wanted her to do for the next twenty years. All she wanted to do was be in her warm bed and have her arms around Tojan, thinking about her future. But their future plans would have to wait.

Tojan yelled for a while after he was locked up, but eventually he realized his screams wouldn't be heard and stopped. Tojan glumly sat in a corner and decided to try to form a plan to get out of here. Tojan thought that because he was bigger in demon form maybe the shackles would be to big in human form, but when he tried to change into it he found the shackles burned him. "Stupid peice of shit." Tojan muttered. Tojan kicked the wall in his anger, but just ended up stubbing it "Agh fuck!" Tojan yelled. Suddenly he heard footsteps, and saw Chanis dad coming towards him "Hi you ugly peice of shit." Tojan pleasantly said. Tojan listened to what the man had to say, and was happy, well happier, to get to see Chani in the dungeon. "Bye! I hope you die miserably in a black hole where you get ripped to atoms and then put back together wrongly for all eternity..." Tojan called out as the man left.Tojan hoped that they were treating Kolen well, and not hurting her. As he laid on the cold floor Tojan started to say to himself "Chani, Chani" on repeat, in hopes she could hear him.

Master… take it easy. Please. I know he did this to me… but everything will be ok. I know this was not our plan… but twenty years passes by faster than you think. All I have to do is work for him and obey. If I don’t… well.. punishments will happen whether I want them to or not and they wont be pretty.

Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. And she was absolutely right. Every time she disobeyed her father, she either got burned, whipped, or scarred with one of her fathers knifes. All of this was when Tojan wasn’t able to come over so that he wouldn’t be able to help her. “ You really don’t care if you live or die, do you, child?” he said one day during her punishments.

“ Im doing t-this because I love Tojan. We are bound for life.. for eternity, Father. And by the end of the twenty years, you wont be able to stop me or him. “ She felt hot anger fueling inside her. “ No matter what you do to me, I will NEVER stop loving him!”

“ we are gonna change that, child. “ He said with an evil grin as he electrified her. And her screams magnified, reaching to Tojan.

As Chani served her 20 years to her father, she was thankful that he at least allowed Tojan to visit every week for an hour. But she wasn’t allowed to leave the dungeon cell.

“ T-Tojan” Chani said as she shivered. Leaning against the cell, looking at him. Her eyes, her toffee brown eye searching for explanations for what had happened during the war “ Do you s s-till love me, even though the war ended differently than you expected?

She knew he did. But she wanted Tojan to say it with his own mouth. “ I’ll understand if you don’t. But remember this, my beloved…. Whatever happens, I wont ever stop thinking about ou or the love I have for-“ The cold temperature then took her. Making her drop the hand that was on the cell, to the floor. The light that used to be in her eyes, gone. But her bond to Tojan surprisingly was still there.

I love you was her last telepathic message that day within the 20 year imprisonment. But it wouldn’t be the last As she served her father, she received burns, lashes, and scars for her constant disobedience. And her father was the one giving her the punishments.

Chani promised herself that she would take the punishment even if it meant her death. But she held on the best she could for her master and soulmate.

She chuckled to herself when Tojan tried to threaten her father. There is no point un threatening him, my beloved. That’s just encouraging him, she said I hate this imprisonment more than you do. But we will get out of this together. Just be… patient.
